Languages have been spoken for seventy thousand years since the toba super volcanic eruption. In this regard I could estimate that around ten thousand languages have died in human history. Just imagine how many old-european languages there existed, before indo-europeans came and slaughtered all these people replacing the lands with their own languages and indo-europeans have also be good at killing other indo-european languages. Only the Basque language is the only one remaining from the old-european languages, because their people hided in the mountains. Its sad thing that languages die sometimes, but its what happens, when more dominant languages start to dominate in certain regions.
Absolute respect for Marie. A language is a world. In Wales, we nearly lost our language and identity. Thankfully, there are enough people now making an effort. Hope that this continues around the world.
When I find out with DNA test about my biological father was from Oklahoma and my fathers Grandmother was a proud and strong Cherokee Woman, I started to learn cherokee language right away, without hasitating, to honor her and the Cherokee blood inside me. I am proud to be part of this new movement, keeping language, traditions and rituals alive, even living 4700 miles away in Scandinavia I can do my part and one day being in Oklahoma and honor the entire tribe, by speaking the language and know the danses and rituals. Great job! Hard work to do. I'm one of the natural polyglots because I grew up speaking many languages. It's important to teach them to the children you raise. If I spoke only two or three languages, I couldn't imagine not passing them down. It's so easy when you grow up with them. The ones I passed down the most were Chahta, English, Italian, and Spanish... It was sad for me to see Doris as the last speaker of Wichita.
I'd love to learn her language... I have so much indigenous ancestry but so disheartened that I don't know my tribes... What a strong and wonderful woman to share her knowledge of the past
"Seems weird that i am the last one," was heart wrenching. OMG, what a wonderful woman and beautiful language. (This is not a criticism or an outright judgement, just a concern, that i hope the family gets better diets so they can continue living well into old age. Omeleto should be kept alive but it's clear the family needs help regarding what they're eating.) I wish them all the best and will be thinking of them for week, and probably months, to come.
Hearing these ancient languages spoken brings the stories and history to life in a very unique way. Gives a noise to the perceived events and characters in your mind.
I fear for the day when Navajo is spoken fluently. She was a warrior of her people. She understood her purpose. Her ancestors will welcome her home. Ahéhee'
Thank you. Can anyone help me out. I learned Vietnamese. And first thought some American tribal languages were similar. Then recently all the RU-vid channels have ruined the search for Native American words. I just want to learn northern American tribal languages and hieroglyphs

Also mentioning it, meh, modern Westerners are taught that colonization was a good thing, native Americans losing their culture from cultural genocide was deemed as “good” as it is today. You don’t realize it. I’m not angry, I understand how some individuals were really horrible people.
Who were the people responsible for this again outsiders remember your history and stick to it those who tried to erase history they have become history. I am wondering why they have same skin color like Indian's so if someone want to find a whole world in a single country you can visit India because you will find all major religion people here, having same skin color, appearance ,like we have north east you can compare their appearance with south East Asian countries look is same, in south India the appearance and skin color is same like the African countries ,in north India you can find same color and appearance in Mexico, USA natives . India is a whole world
