He should have taken a longer break. He is so depressed about his dad dying. His dad was his rock. I know him personally as I used to date a member of the bad and this just isn’t him. I hope he is able to get the help he needs.
I have noticed this building up for awhile now. His dad passing and then losing Twiggy, i mean that's 2 of the most important people in his life. I think he needs a break, maybe rehab, i don't know him personally... I just love Marilyn Manson and don't want him to completely lose control or do something really stupid. There's already been too many musicians tragically lost too soon recently.
XxBryanxX Jeordie is actually who I was with. And they were like brothers. He and I still talk but I haven’t asked him about Manson just because I don’t feel it’s my place. I really hope he gets help too. He isn’t him. I’ve never seen him this depressed even in 1996 he wasn’t this bad.
Allesandra Chain I hope both of them are ok... I'm 35 and have been listening to their music since i was in high school. I hate to see Twiggy leave. I don't want to downplay Jill's claim. I wasn't there. It's just sad. I hope they all are ok.
A crowd shouldn't have to be told to be excited. If they do, that really reflects on the quality of the performer. Yes, Marilyn is a great musician, but being unable to hype a crowd without begging them? yikes
well just so you know the opening act was a dj playing rock music and cutting as the songs build up to the next song, the who thing was bad and i felt the crowd die and you would hear the crowd get pumped but she just changed songs and every one was blue balled. that how they set us in to a marilyn manson concert after telling people they can't meet him after paying hundreds to meet him
I miss old good MM times, like he was in 90's. In my humble opinion, his last best album was "The Golden Age Of Grotesque". But at that time I was too young to go for a concerts.
i agree. it's pretty incredible how far people will go in this country to endlessly elevate and worship total egomaniacal, dysfunctional assholes. this is who manson always has been. his fans are just useful idiots.
Doesn't matter if the crowd is "dead." People have the right to enjoy it however they want. Aside from that, he was messed up and not sober. Fans pick up that stuff. Shouting "I love you" isn't going to make him sober any faster, why bother? People should demand more for what they pay for.
it wasn't even the demanding it was he was asking questions after saying we were too dead and the crowd got too loud to hear him so they quieted to hear and then got loud when he said thing he didn't want us to cheer
I saw him this year 2018 at the House of Blues in Houston he performed good but also noticed him sad at the show when he was performing Disposible Teens when he sang I wanna thank you mom and thank you dad he kinda of paused during that part , true fans like me should understand he is human like us and has been through alot in due time it catches up on you but at the same time he still continued to perform and continue touring for his fans
It's depressing bc first his mom, then his dad... But he's always been a daddy's boy, so I know it ate him up brutally. Additionally, his long time pet cat, Lily White also passed. He's been through a LOT.
I can understand why people would say certain things about his performances being bad but as a longtime fan i cant help but be more concerned about him and his well being rather than his shows being bad coz a person's behavior reflects his state of mind and his level of happiness and this to me is a cry for help. I'm very concerned about him and whatever is going on with him i hope he clears it up. He seems unhappy 😔
Huge fan of Manson (seen him during the Anti-Christ Superstar tour), but this is embarrassing. He ruined so many good songs...most notably the very well-written Lunchbox. Ugh... The lead singer of Kiss had a great comment about being around high people "I can't stand it, they're so boring". I guarantee you Brian can't even watch this, so shameful. Given his intellect and abilities I hope he can turn this around.
I went to the show tonight in NJ. after the first song he said "GOD DAMN! Now this is a fucking crowd!" then later on said we were the best crowd of the entire tour.
Shannon Higdon i hate to say it coz i'v loved the guy for years but your right !! I dont know what's going on with him lately or why he's being like that. If he needs that to boost his ego he must be unhappy in his life right now maybe.
lol i know i thought it was weird of him to ask but, i think he really needed it that night so we said it, and i hope he feel that he is loved for his art. people do care about him. if thats too soft then i'd rather be soft
It's pretty sad. His set is like all his greatest hits but they just sound, weak and tired and played out like a retired pop star in their Vegas years knowing they'll never capture their glory days. All the original band members have either left because Manson is a selfish asshole or been kicked out of the band and unfortunately Manson is only as good as the musicians he surrounds himself with so his output has been forgettable. It's a shame. He knows he's washed up but he doesn't realize it's his own fault that his career has taken a nose dive.
Let me tell you why this is so fuckt up from a performer point of view. The ultimate disrespect that can be shown to a crowd is by turning your back to them. In theater and acting or as a singer or any form of on stage performance if you turn your back to the people and its not part of a dance routine or something its pretty much like sticking your middle finger up to everyone in the audience. This was so unprofessional and just sad. Hope he gets over his problems.
Hi im from the past , when we used to yell "we love hate , we hate love" , and now i find he will become a guy wanting the audience to yell "we love you" . Im going back to the nineties , the future sucks .
I heard the next show he did was awesome, so this was either just a bad off night or he was pissed off with the crowd. I feel for those that were trying to be good fans & ended up with a less than stellar show. But, with the year Manson has had, I feel for him too. He sounds bummed out.
he was way better in the 90's , people would go apeshit at EVERY show because it was raw, pushing boundaries and original.. now, its just a paycheck: this shit has sucked for years. I've never been to a show where I have to scream constantly to inflate the singers ego so he will perform, I allready paid for my fucking ticket so play the show, who cares if I am high as fuck and not screaming. He needs help
Oh yeah , of course, but he is dead ;) In 97 this was pretty much it for pushing boundaries while almost being mainstream. This and NiN.. GG died awhile before this. John Waters, alive, old and pushed boundaries more then both.
Marilyn Manson Brian I love you please be okay the ones that truly love you and respect you will always be here for you it's okay to take a break go to France
this happened to kathy griffin-----kayne west and now marilyn...DON'T --YOU GET IT YET??? THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND HOLLYWOOD IS IMPLODING...ITS ALL AN ILLUSION..ITS TIME TO WAKE UP KIDDIES...
I'm sorry but, this isn't his first time NY, his fans paid a lot of money to see him. I hope they got a refund. Who cares if the crowd wasn't to his liking, if he was well enough, he should have performed. Now, at first I thought he had a fucking mental breakdown, etc and I was concerned for him. And then he goes on to the next show, like nothing happened? The Fuck?
People need to chill out. Maybe the recent school shooting fucked him up because he’s been blamed for at least 36 shootings in his entire career. He probably wasn’t sober because these kind of tragedies are hard to fucking deal with ESPECIALLY when people blame you for it. If the fans that were there really cared about Manson as an entertainer they would be worried not pissed.
Blaming music for shootings was a 80's and 90's thing. No one does it now because the internet gives the masses a voice and they immediately shoot down (no pun intended) bullshit like that. It was back when the other side (the fans and people with common sense in general) couldn't be heard when they used those tactics to try and steer away from gun control being the issue.
samssideacc Nope. No fucking excuses. I’ve seen him on every tour and this one did it for me. For the first time ever, I walked out of a concert. He was shit faced, couldn’t remember the words to his songs...spinning around in a circle in his little “jazzy” on stage. It was pathetic. The Marilyn I’ve loved for the better part of 20+ years no longer exists.
don’t get why manson complains about the crowd “not loving him” when they spent the time and money to come all this way to see him perform despite being way past his glory days. They buy his albums, have manson merchandise and listen to his music but that isn’t enough?? The people in the crowd are the reason manson made it to where he is. Disrespect.
I definitely agree with you on the fans and crowd POV. At the same time, his dad has recently died. He's always been a daddy's boy and was deeply destroyed by it. But here's the thing about MM: Good: He's resilient as hell. He even broke his foot once and still did a spectacular show on a badass, goth styled wheelchair. Bad: He's done drugs and alc way too much and way too hard to the pt it's added more issues in his life, relationships, and well-being. The ugly: He's a stubborn MF and would actually risk his life to perform ! He's a workaholic who struggles to relax, refuses to take breaks when needed Most, until he collapses. He gets very cranky and his anger tantrums set it. A lot of uppers he's done only makes things worse. The glory: He's been persistently sober and has lost weight, looking near identical to the 90s, and will be touring this year at the beginning of August!! His voice and head are also more clear.
Crazy Fans! It was adorable! It was just communication to fans because everyone know the songs anyway! Everyone should be happy about it that he was talking to everyone
Play the set, have fun, get paid, go home. It's his job; he gets to do this instead of going to work somewhere. He should respect the people who let him do this.
Everyone is freaking out about this, but I can't tell if he's being genuine or he's just trolling/fucking with the crowd. I was in St. Louis July 14th to see him and Rob Zombie for one of their Twins of Evil Tour: The Second Coming concerts, and they both put on a hell of a performance that night. So, if this was real and he wasn't just bullshitting (watch him in concert during the 90s, he did all kinds of crazy shit on stage), well....people need to remember he is a person just like everyone else. He has good days and bad. I would imagine touring, especially if you're not feeling good physically, emotionally, and/or psychologically it can be very difficult to perform some nights. I still love him!
Well,I say it's a 50 % chance they will push him forward, even though he really needs help, not just drugs ,but mentally ,emotionally. I hope he gets it. He was a fan of one of my bands in 1987 and he was a typical dude just trying to be cool,we talked about KISS ,introduced him to Anton Lavey ,which was a mistake, now that I see what he has done. Oh well,he has people pulling and pushing him, something has got to give!
When rockstars and celebs start acting up and getting messy in public, their team checks them into Cedar Sinai for a month or more. They say it's for "exhaustion" (would that work for us regular folks?) and they come back out of the hospital, with a brand new blonde hair and some speculate they have been zapped (MK Ultra) but hey, whatever it takes to keep these products (people) in working order to produce revenue for "the Hand" or whatever you want to call it. Best guess is Marilyn's next stop is Cedars Hospital or a Cedar Box, it's his decision really.
I saw Manson at Ozzfest 2001 and it was an amazing performance. He was wearing a dress and all of a sudden it starts extending upwards and outwards, probably had built in stilts, and he turns into a giant almost, was really cool to see. He's just wasted now. He needs to stick to soundtracks and recording work.
yes i know his shows are usually awesome and last night in jersey was amazing too. he did talk crap about you but that is part of the game lol hope you see him again
Why didn’t he play his songs, isn’t that what he was paid to do? Everyone paid to be there. Is this planned, because if this is the paramount on Long Island Ny.You can fit like 700 people
He's an entertainer, and he's probably going thru a lot. Give him a fuckin' break. He's been blamed for so much, and there has been so much slander against him. Show some actual love and no more hate. Too much of that in this world.
Please give him a pass. I was there. He was in a lot of pain, not taking medicine because he didn’t want the effects, and had some anxiety. His anxiety is an issue we fans know how to deal with. It’s no meltdown! He was absolutely fine both before and after.
í´ve been a HUGE Marilyn manson fan since 1997, i saw him back in 1998 here in Lisbon Portugal,it was the best concert i´ve ever seen, its on youtube you guys can look it up "Marilyn Manson pavilhão multiusos 1998". And this is just really sad to see.He started this tour so well and then the ankle, and then hes dad,and then the leg. And always mumbling the lyrics and looking like a sad clown...honestly i feel sad to see him like this when i look back on how great a performer he was! Im still really hyped to go see him back in Lisbon in June,i already got 2 tickets. Oh well, you (the guy who was filming) did a great job but damn... that was just fucked up
wow that is a tiny tiny tiny arena. you should not have to tell your fans to get excited. they get excited as the band makes it happen. have you ever been to a kiss concert? they dont have to tell the crowd to scream or sing along. it just happens because it is that good and iconic. this is sad.
Dude had the balls to compare himself to Robert Plant of Led Zepplin, lol, Led Zepplin were musical geniuses, this guy's band is nothing more than a gimmick with some basic riffs thrown in, real shite musicians.
I saw Kiss at the SEC Hydro last may. Kiss is a show, filled with effects and fire breathing & a bunch of other things. That's naturally going to get a crowd excited. But yeah, I agree. A performer shouldn't have to tell a crowd to scream or sing along, although a concert like this and Kiss aren't really comparable.
he was never like kiss. sorry bro. never big like metallica. and this is not the first year he has been playing tiny little venues. he is not kiss bro.
This crowed is to blame. Why even pay $ to see him..then just stamd there blankly? This is not an incoherent rambling the fans were dead literally just standing there and staring at him preform and hardly reacting between songs all he was asking for was some kind of cheering reaction excitement it didn't matter if people would have been cheering for him or Screaming they hate him as long as it was some kind of reaction if you don't plan on interacting with a performer while they are performing for you you might as well just wait and watch the video on RU-vid after it's over with so people that do give a shit can have a chance to see them live and actually enjoy themselves. He may have a lot going on in his personal life but this has nothing to do with any of that.
"I love you= songs, F.U.=no songs" wow...just...wow. shouldn't pay for a ticket=songs? Did it say anything on the ticket about having to kiss his ass in order to have him play?
Every rock star deals with aging differently. I feel bad for the rest of the band. Still love manson. Hopefully he's reading this. I guess he needs to hear it.
Lol, MM throwing a temper tantrum. People pay a lot of money to go see him. To me, he made a fool out of himself and I have listened to him since the 90s and I love him but maybe he should retire.
No reason to justify this, Manson should've finished the performance. If you're not able to hype the crowd, get over it and finish the performance. Im assuming he's going through a hard time mentally, maybe because of drug abuse, because of his injury and because the passing of his father. I hope he takes some time off to solve his problems.
a lot of you are saying your mad at him for cuttinng the concert short i understand why but do you people acully care about him or just like him for his music i would think you would care but if your mad at him for cutting the concert short it sounds to me like you dont care about him dont you know he is probely just gettting anxiety and he sounds depressed to so dont get mad at him for cutting the concert short
He's not entitled to any love or interest. He is paid to perform songs nothing more. If he desires constant approval then this is obviously not the career for him.
Lol, have to call me dumbass to make a point valid? If you know Marilyn He dont want to hear "I love you" Fuck have you ever seen him live? no i bet not lol, go to a metal concert and learn some kiddo
I've seen him at a festival quite some years back and he couldn't even be arsed to stand. He sat down almost the entire concert and gave it a minimum effort, so my expectations for him are really low at this point.
Looks like he had a cast on his foot. Maybe he was on a wicked dose of pain pills. He crashed into some equipment on the way out. Where was his management?
Whats he on???? Other than a power/pity trip? These people aka the crowd are paying your bills your fans pay your bills. Get off your high horse and I don't give a shit how famous he is....
It might just be my own experiance with alcohol, but I have never seen someone act like that while on it, nor have I ever found myself near that level of "blacked out" (for lack of a better word). Maybe if it was a few bottles or some crazy liquor proof, but a few shots? How does he end up so destroyed?
Stop whining! This has also happened with other bands before, it's no big deal! It happens sometimes... The people who aren't very used to going gigs are the ONLY ones that haven't seen a similar situation! Don't worry: MM will announce a new date to repeat the gig or he will refund everyone of the lousy 40$ paid for the ticket!
it's like he's trying to do a bad Jim Morrison impression. When Jim did it, it hadn't been done before...plus the songs still sounded good. this is just sad
