There is Marilyn Manson the artist, performer, and showman, and there is Marilyn Manson the guy. I think people forget that even famous rock artists are also regular people just like the rest of us. You can watch interviews by not only him, but by many other legendary artists like Freddie Mercury, Jack White, etc. and their sit-down-and-chat persona is very different than their stage persona. Being an artist is more than writing songs and singing, you also are literally putting on a performance, a show, and Marilyn Manson is yet another example of a regular guy who has an extraordinary talent and is a master of performance. He still eats, sleeps, shits, and grieves like the rest of us.

It really sucks to lose a loved one and I have lost several in the past several years starting with my wife, brother, parents and sister last year. I know we all have to endure this kind of loss but it doesn't make it any easier. It is something that just doesn't go away and effects most of us in ways that are profound and sometimes incomprehensible. I have tried to learn to enjoy life and the people close to me more and hope to see them all on the other side when the time comes. Let people mourn and give them respect and privacy regardless of whomever it is.
