? Underrated? No, it was very mainstream and popular. If a band was on MTV almost every day then it wasn't underrated. That's like saying Queens of the Stone Age 'Go with the Flow' was underrated. Just not true. Really good album though, you got good taste! If you like this then check out Aphrodite's Child 'Four Horsemen', he took a bit from their sound, and Comus (their first album) Conceptually it was dark as you like yet also equally creative. They are much more 70's folk horror than glam rock.
This is one of my favorite music videos of all time. This was the first time I saw what Manson looked like in this era, and I was blown away. Changing his look and style completely was an enormous risk, and he pulled it off. I know alot of fans rejected this era, but to me it's one of my favorites. By far his second best album (behind Portrait, of course), and the only album I have ever found of which I love every songle track on it. A true masterpiece.
actually my mom is a christen and she used to and still does listen to mariloyn manson, and she bought a disc just for this song so its funny how you say that XD
+manbat44633 Well the majority of religious people are against manson's music because he is so against religion and regularly bashes it in his music and interviews. so it's kind of ironic a religious person would follow someone like Marilyn Manson.
I always thought Marilyn Manson was fucking weird BUT now I think he's so open and honest in all his music! I can totally understand and relate to his songs and I am 53 years old. Lol!
He’s amazing, iconic, ahead of his time. Don’t care what people say about him, he’ll always been one of my favorites. This album especially is brilliant. 🤩🤭
If the girl knew it, she could slowly grind and be more teasing while it builds and then take you on a ride by moving right when the chorus kicks in. Really good choice for that.
i think he was talking about facebook. when he says drugs are made in California facebook and the iphone. but dont listen to me i did drugs when this song came out. lots of them
@@cloudymuffin450 Nicholas cage? Really? He's a terrible actor. I think he did OK in one movie throughout his career. Manson on the other hand has put out a lot of good music.
Some weird ass videos but man his music is out of this world . I'm 53 years old my kids are in their 30's and they think I'm just as crazy as he is. I love it
The sounds and concept he managed to create on this record are something else. So glam, dense, synthetic like sounds. He is more creative than most people give him credit for. So good.
When you personify art like he does, it's hard to take away from it. Like, not everything I've heard about him as a person, from his own admittance, has been great but the ART-I find myself returning back to his work all the time. It's just superb.
@@lilcutthroat1995 for a video which shamelessly exposed his bodily deformities in order to scare the most impressionable Internet users. Now that Sandie is deceased, I suggest that we all report this video so that it is deleted by the RU-vid algorithm and that Sandie's memory is finally at peace, and not an image of a freak phenomenon.
That was before the no-fun PC Police took over our culture. Now if you even want to tell a joke, you have to fight through a blizzard of fascist snowflakes. I say we fight them, mock them, and oppose the PC Police at every turn. The new left is the new religious fundamentalism, and it is suffocating us. The kids learned that commie PC crap in school - it's time to reform the education system.
@@xxblktarheroinuserxx8734 It is hard when the word-police change the rules about what is "offensive" every three seconds, and form is valued over substance, and everyone is seen as a potential racist monster, instead of a potential ally. An older person related a story to me about saying the word "oriental." Someone told him that's racist now, so he called up an Asian friend, and asked her if it's bad for him to say the word "oriental." She didn't know, so she Googled it, and then she said something very funny and politically incorrect that I won't relate here because I don't want to be canceled by the no-fun word police.
I like this song a lot, not only because of the melody, but also because of the lyrics, because it makes you realize how superficial and changeable human beings are.I don't think of this lyric as one that talks about drugs, even though it actually does talk about drugs, but I focus more on the line where it says "they love you when you're on all the covers and then when you're gone they love someone else" it's just THAT, the unreliability of relationships....there is nothing stable...people move apart and move closer together like a rubber band, until this breaks and the relationship ends and we go back to being strangers like and more than before....we are destined to be alone....
Enoch Golgotha I wasn't even around in the 90s but I still appreciate the music that was made then. the music now is mostly garbage. I like a lot of the older bands like korn or slipknot etc. And nobody seems to know why I like them so much.
Ch3rryBomb02 I'm always worried that I'll come across as the old man who goes into 'In my day...' bullshit. But thanks for confirming that I'm not going nuts and the 90's had some sweet music.
am i the only one thinking hes talking about 2024...... look around that videos was unbelievable in the 90s it looks like san fran on tuesday rush hour present time this mans a prophet
I actually have a shirt with his face on it and I wear to school all the time 😂also when I was in public I got weird looks too and I was wondering why then I remember what I was wearing but whats so wrong about marilyn manson?
@@alicapone4866 lol, you can always move to any random remote, rural region, and find good ol' biggotry and hatred for anything new, unknown, different ;-))
This is so prophetic . Way before Facebook and Snap and tik tok . Even though Andy Warhol said we will all get our 15 minutes . Dope show talks about the Karen’s and video criminal .
it's almost 2023 and this song is never been more actual. BTW we're now showin' that even if it's no more on all the covers I still love it like then. 💜
Remenber when this came out, everyone was expecting more of the anti-religion, demon, dark goth, antichrist superstar, and this guy came up with this, just brilliant, it gets better with time
He is not a demon. Did you hear what he said when asked about what would he said to kids from Columbine if He had the chance to talk to them? He said- "I wouldnt say anything, I would just listen to them" I know he looks like a demon in this videos and all. But he is not.
@@oscarchuquillanqui8574 no😆I m not. But I m coming from a religious family and I know they would see him as a horible demon but I think under that make up is a lonely, sad guy who is misunderstand in many things. Ok I m not saying he's a Saint or perfect, no. But he is not that bad like it seems. Maybe that's a fasade to not be Hurt by anyone. Idk. I feel that he is much more than everybody sees. Maybe I still havent lost faith in people after all I ve been through but I think almoust all people have something good in them
I was 15 when this song came out , so its my era , all of us hated the glamorous lifestyle and look at how social media made everyone into an attention seeking whores
I grew up with Manson. Being a 90s kid you couldn't avoid him, and I loved it. I've always been attracted to the darker more twisted things in life and it's shaped me into what I am. Boo!
@Izzy Halliwell I can agree with you Izzy! Manson is actually an artist I've gotten into recently, and I love it as much as you do! Though I'm the only mansonite in my school....*cries black tears and floods the whole house with my gothness*
This scared my grandma so much it made her cry. I wish I hadn't shown it to her now. I was a stupid teenager. I assumed she would think it was awesome because I did. There's my confession.
This wouldn't have fazed me at all if I were 4 years old so how in the hell does a person who has seen much more than the average person cry? Manson's videos are weird and uncomfortable at best, but nothing I'd consider "scary". Best example I can think of is Sweet Dreams, so I guess thank god you didn't show her that or she may very well have had a heart attack.
i absolutely love how in your face and obnoxious this song is. I played it for my 80 yo Dad and I felt good that he hated it and i have been doing that to him for 40 years
This man was essentially the reason my mother had MTV blocked from our cable provider. I was around 9/10 when he started showing on MTV Lol. Little did she know I would grow up to see him in concert.
Your hard work, dedication, and spiritual endurance are truly appreciated, and I am incredibly grateful for them. Your efforts have made a significant impact. Thank you for all that you
I started to listen MM 12 years ago. Now I'm 28, and I understand everything, he wants to tell from the beginning. He never wanted to tell us that I AM THIS WHAT YOU SEE AND HEAR. He wanted to tell us YOU PEOPLE WILL BECOME THIS TWISTED AND DARK, IF THE WORLD CONTINUES TO GO LIKE THIS. Every word, every thought of him has become the truth. Wars, AI, fatigued, mentally unstable people, dark selfish intentions, drugs, alcohol, violence. MM, YOU KNEW IT, BUT WE WERE DUMB TO HEAR YOU.
I remember perfectly the moment when my 10-year-old daughter told me: Mom, I really like this Marilyn Manson song. I had to make an effort, because it terrified me. We're talking about 2005 or so.I was a bit prejudiced, and every time I saw the video with the pig (as I called it) I changed the channel. But then I loved his music deeply myself. And then, my daughter and I, we went to discover his songs. And we watched every video together. And now that my daughter is 26, we talk about it sometimes and think about how cool Manson was a few years ago. We also saw the concert in Milan together and it was great. So many good memories. Thanks Marilyn Manson
I remember MM saying in an interview that parents should bring their kids to a concert before judging him. I listened to him with my kids also. Along with korn, Beatles, led zeppelin. My kids are cool and it DID create a bond for us.
oh goodness yes, my kids grew up on his music. I gave up censoring them because it's fairly impossible these days. No Cradle Of Filth videos (stands to reason), but they listened to that music too because hubby and I love metal, goth anything hard and heavy. They grew up better for the exposure. I think during a lot of the high school crap that goes on, MM and all the rest kept them strong and they felt truly understood by these icons. Music is magical, it truly is.
hey i am 11 years old and goth i am really happy other people are having the same experiences like me my dad and i are having a great time sharing the same music and having fun with it ik mm is very satanic ans stuff but i really like him and i know what i should like and what i should not :)
edenseye listen on Spotify the sem&stenn version!! Too bad they're from xfactor (a talent show ) but they killed it!! Trust me , they are definitely time worthy
Back in the 90s at battle of the bands in Orlando they blew away everyone and you knew the inevitable was going to happen.love you brian thanks for being you.
I'm praying to god that there will be a new generation of rock as good as Marilyn Manson. If we don't, Rock is dead for sure... I really need another Marilyn Manson in our new generation! Don't get me wrong he still has great music, but he is 46 and could retire from the singing career if he wanted to... ;_; and at his age it is harder to come up with new songs that fit how you feel and that already haven't been made... Like if you agree!!!!
JsRetroVideoGames Given how much emphasis he's put, over the years, on being a good parent to your kids and helping them understand all the influences the world throws at them, he'd probably make a fine father.
Corpse Party eh, Manson has stated he has no gripes with the Christian faith, just the people who preach it. He doesn't believe that the way it's taught is the way it goes. He says in disposable teens "I never hated the on true god, but the god of the people I hated." Which says to me "whoever you people are worshipping sucks, and I'm pretty sure it's not the god in your books."
HDZ274 Yet he fucks bibles and rips them to shreds and lights them on fire on stage. Fuck god. Fuck the bible. Manson also says "i'm not a slave to a god that doesn't exist"
tbh i think marilyn manson to some degree is has an influence on any goth/flamboyant/artistic or otherwise "weird" artist. the man really was that revolutionary
**the feeling that every hot boy or girl you fall in love with is either fictional or famous so u will never meet them and they will never know who you are**
Half agree. Gaze into the void and the void gazes into you; battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster. You can fuck whoever you want but in the process you lose who you were before the sex addiction began. Or you become a monster :3
Funny how this song was speaking of the future look at everyone now, they're all part of the dope show, u can get everything u want in that life but in the end it dissolves your inner self, money is the root of everything in life no matter what
