OMG!!!! You are giving me crafting life right now!!!! This is genius and oh so elegant!!!!! Thanks for sharing. I was just about to throw out several wine bottle and now I'm glad I kept them. The possibilities seem endless after watching this. Thanks!!!!
This is a GORGEOUS BOTTLE!!!! my whole bedroom is decorated in old hollywood glam from the 20's to early 50's i am going to try to do some of these with some pics i have. Thanks for the ideas!!! Just the motivation i needed
Thank you! All the links to the napkins I used are in the description box and they are not expensive. Good luck and take your time. It can be frustrating but be patient and go slow. Happy New Year to you as well! xoxo
new subscriber here!! I 💖💖💖 your videos! this will be great for a gift for my sister studio.. she already has a pic of Marilyn Monroe and making this for a gift.. she loves Marilyn!
Another comment... I'm trying my best to do this decoupage thing... When I paint on glass... I'm having some MAJOR problems!! The first coat turns out perfect. I let it dry for quite a while to make sure it's well, dry. Lol As I put on the second coat, the first coat starts to peel off!! What am I doing wrong!?!?!? I'm so frustrated because I want to make some things for Christmas gifts!! Please help!!! Chrissy
Thank you! It doesn't leave streak marks like paint brushes might and It distributes the paint evenly. It's hard to paint on glass but I find that with the pouncer brushes you wouldn't even know that it is. :)
Absolutely Love your bottles!! I make bottles as well so I'm always seeking new ideas and concepts to try out and I came across your channel!!! Love Love Love!!! I do have a question, would you think it would be wise to cover the bottle with epoxy or would you stick with triple thick?
Thank you Tasjah! To be honest I wouldn't use any of those. I hate triple thick because it's not forgiving. Sometimes it works and sometimes it cracks. Epoxy would require you to constantly be rotating the bottle and you would also waist a lot of it. What I like to use now is Polycrylic or the clear spray sealers from Mod Podge. The Polycrylic comes in a glaze or spray. :)
Thank you! There is a way to transfer photos (if it's laser printed) onto glass. I've been meaning to do a video on that but haven't had the time or supplies. I'm sure if you look it up on RU-vid, someone has done it. I'll be making a video on that as soon as I have what I need. :)
Hi! I love your videos! Betty Boop and Marilyn bottles are my favorites! Have you done an I Love Lucy bottle? I'm going to try but it sure would be nice to follow you making it!
Hi Ivelisse! I have a question, I'm new to decoupage and I did my first project a few days ago and it turned out so great. But I did the napkin design over twine. I have an Etsy shop where I sell specialty wine bottle lamps. So in relation to that, my question is: Can you decoupage without painting the bottle white first? That way light can show through the paper?
Hello :) This is fairly new to me as well but I do know that you can decoupage without painting/priming it first. You just have to cut the tissue design out exactly around it so there's no excess tissue... because there is no paint for it to blend in with. Hope that helps :)
Hello! I absolutely enjoyed viewing your videos. And this one sparked an idea and a question... would it be possible to use a printed image on tissue paper of a personalized look with a picture of someone to achieve the same idea you did with Marilyn Monroe? If so, would you be willing to demonstrate?
Thank you!.. absolutely, I have a set of bottles i'm working on that required me to do this.. you can totally do it. I'm in the process of moving at the moment but once I'm settled I'll make a video just on image transfer onto tissue paper okay. :)
DIYNoNeedToCry Best wishes of smooth transitioning on your move and much success. Thank you for responding and I look forward to seeing what you have to share with us in the future.
I want to apologize as one of the clips didn't come out. I put liquid pearls outlining her face. My editor had been updated and it did not work. This is why my video was late this week. It is a miracle I was even able to put this out as I had to edit while it crashed on me about 10 times.
@@titan4044 i really love it!!! Such a great job!!! I am just starting doing bottles and after seeing this I'm gonna try to do one of percey sledge !!! Wish me luck!!!
Beautiful I luv it I'm new to this and I want to know wats that tool that you was using to pick up the tiny rhinestones with and where can I get it from
Hello and thank you! I use the back of the paint brush I place the glue with. I dip the very tip (the tiniest amount) in Mod Podge, let it dry until it's tacky, then I start using it to pick up the rhinestones. :)
Hello Rhonda, thank you! :) I have the link to where I got mine in the description box. I always put a list of all the materials I use in all my videos. :)
Hello, Clara, the link to where I got the napkins, along with everything I used for this bottle, is listed in the description box under What I Used: I always leave a list for every video, thanks for watching! :)
That's a great idea! I've thought about doing some like that but, i'm a recovering alcoholic and even though I don't get the urge to drink anymore... I like to stay away from it as much as possible. :)
Amazing, what glue do you use for your rhinestones? I recently used e6000 to glue rhinestones to my phone case and they just keep falling off I thoughtcrimes was supposed to be very strong industrial glue
hi, I bought a large bottle and the napkins, had a practice on a jar but !!!! poor maralyn creased all over, can the tissue be too thin? I tried to rub out but made a mess xx
Hello, I had the same problem. I just kept redoing it until I had at least most of her face without them and smoothed the rest with a crumpled up piece of plastic wrap. Be gentle with it and don't put to much Mod Podge where it gets all mushy and make sure to spread it evenly. Use a new piece of plastic wrap every time you attempt it. I have to make most of my projects more then once before I get it right so don't get discouraged. Try it again and let me know how it turns out! Good luck! xx :)
Hello, I'm trying to make a Dallas Cowboy bottle using a piece of paper not a napkin. I have 2 prints that I already printed out, will the ink run? Ane she doesn't like any glitter. So I'm not using glitter at all. I saw the packer video you did for your brother like that one. But where did you get the football at the top of the bottle? Please let me know. You did a wonderful job on both bottles.
Hello, 👋🏼 and thank you!! If you use a paper cutout I would suggest printing it out on a laser printer because the ink jet will run when you try and seal it with Mod Podge. It is standard practice for most places that print thing's out to use laser printers, so you can go anywhere that prints thing's, and most likely it will be a laser print out. You can ask just to make sure. As for the football I used, I got it as a package of different balls. It was in the baby toy section at Toy's r us. I believe I left a link in the description box of that video. One more thing, if you're planning on using a paper cutout, I would suggest following the way I did the logos on this video with your cutouts. I think it would look better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JGZZOCReggc.html In this video I glue the team logo on top of a separate piece of the mesh fabric, then I glue that onto the bottle. You don't have to use the mesh fabric, you can also use felt or even crafting foam. If you run into any problems or have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll try and help the best I can! Happy crafting!🤗
I have a question......that gem picker upper......I need one.....and not sure what kind to get......I think there are different kinds....wish I could see yours better in the video and how it works....can you help me out?...and one more thing......did you use a 2" or 2 1/2 " styrofoam ball??
Hello, nice to hear from you again. I've never bought one of those, so I couldn't recommend one. I use the back of a thin paint brush, dipped in Mod Podge glue. I lightly dip it, let it dry and it becomes tacky. I try to improvise as much as I can, instead of spending money on everything lol. :)
The styrofoam ball was in an assorted pack so I'm not sure what size it was. This is the pack I bought www.walmart.com/ip/Floracraft-Styrofoam-Ball-Pkg-2.5-4-Astd-6pc-Wht/52528505
I just saw that on another one of your videos....doesn't the mod podge dull the finish at all on the gems???.....so you mp on the bottle with the brush..and use the other end with another dab of mp to pick it up...and then stick it on?........is that correct???
I use a very small amount and I let it dry somewhat before I start placing the gems. It hasn't dulled mine but, on one of my bottles, when I used plastic rhinestones, it kind of did. I used an ear swab dipped in hot water to wipe them off. I now only buy acrylic rhinestones and don't have that problem. Yes that is correct. So did you ever try the Elmers glue to crackle? How did it come out?
No I have not ....not yet.....I still have a big jar of mod podge to use up.....but I will probably try the Elmers before it is gone.....since it is cheaper ...
Where do you find the tissue paper! I would love to make something like this with other pictures like football teams but cannot find the right tissue paper I went to the website and I couldn’t find any either. Any suggestions?
Sorry about that, it's an old video and the seller must not carry it anymore. Just Google "Marilyn Monroe paper napkins" you will find plenty more sellers. I made three different sports bottles here are the links to the videos. ru-vid.com/group/PLA4hMP-BRI529UTFQrZjSFQKsewsfNrQA
Every time I do one of these bottles and use the napkins it leaves little bumps from the napkin Do you do something to the napkin before you put it on the bottle like iron it or do you used a special kind of napkin? I know this is a stupid question, but I thought you might be able to help Your bottles are just beautiful.
Hello, no that never happens to me and I don't use any special napkins or do anything but what I show in my video's. Do you take the plies of paper off the back before gluing?
I do take all the plies off .I think it may be that I need to paint the bottle first like you do . i have about 500 wine bottles and I have to do something with them. LOL also, if you use a hair dryer, the labels come off real easy. Just a FYI. Thank you for your time. God Bless
Lol! It's not that because you can decoupage without painting first. Try using plastic wrap to press it down before placing more glue over it. I use crumpled up pieces but most people place a flat piece over it and smooth it out with there fingers. Maybe that will help. If you do use the crumpled up piece be very gentile. Your welcome and thanks for the tip! God Bless you too! :)
