Unfortunately, it's more complicated than that! Today, there are many software programs for colorizing or restoring videos! The hardest thing is to obtain something natural... It's really complicated to detail my method. Generally, I import the sequence in black and white into Adobe Premiere, to adjust exposure, contrast, light and dark tones, as well as whites and blacks; if it's already in color, I skip the previous step. Then I export to a folder in PNG image sequences, often between 3,000 and 5,000 images for 2 to 3 minutes of video. Next, I run a frame-by-frame colorization, then do a colorimetric correction to eliminate as many errors as possible! Then I do a first pixel enhancement treatment in 2K "still frame-by-frame", then I switch to one or two different Face recoveries (because some provide a lot of recovery but not total fidelity of the face, and others are more faithful but the recovery is more timid), so I mix at the end with two superimposed video tracks and opacities between the two. . and I finish with a penultimate pixel treatment in 4K by compiling the image in mp4 . then I either have to interpolate in 60fps or two if I have both face recovery, to gain fluidity on the video, or put it directly on the Timeline to re-synchronize it with the soundtrack .... In short, this represents between 5 and 8 different software programs and treatments ... 🙏🙏🙏

@@maladetts There are two videos of different dimensions, so we would have seen black stripes on the first one anyway, and they're very thin, so they don't look any better. Then, whether the video is in cinemascope or 4:3, if you enlarge it, they all go to 16:9 format, so with black bands either at the top and bottom, or right and left... and for a cleaner youtube page, this prevents the thumbnails from being cut off... I try to keep a homogeneity in the diffusion for more rigor.

I've seen and am subsribed to endless RU-vid channels of the best quality that either do full-screen uploads, or simply omit the bars, since RU-vid perfectly allows it on any format you want, just assigning the technical white bars instead. There are plenty of options and I've never seen this affect anyone's page or make it untidy in any way. But hey, if you adore the unnecessary visual garbage, it's up to you. This hardly makes your videos "cleaner", on the contrary. This said, loving your work otherwise. Don't mind me. I guess, I just have different standards.
