Ashlee K that director is the great George Cukor. he was known as a woman's director, but unfortunately, not supportive enough for marilyn, unlike Billy Wilder who was equally (if not greater than) talented as cukor and knew how to get the best out of marilyn.
That " you will " must be the most beautiful display of empathy and gentleness one could ever witness. She was the most courageous person I have ever laid my eyes on! Keep a good though for Marilyn
@@sidneyprescott6504 many people aren't. even heard of child abuse or endangerment? the fact that she was effortlessly kind to soothe and encourage a small human being, even though she DIDN'T HAVE TO, shows her character and nature. sheesh.
@@sidneyprescott6504 I agree that’s just basic human compassion but you’d be suprised especially with such high stakes an actress would not dare go against a director or try to undermine him. That came so natural to her and was actually a very intelligent remark. She couldn’t control how the director would talk to his actors but she could control the reaction of the child and show kindness and support and completely change the energy. That little remark was actually incredibly powerful.
I've never seen outtakes of MM working; they are incredibly revealing in terms of her character and her professionalism - in the face of what appears to be fairly relentless demands. You learn more about her here than a million quotes from others.
Thank you Marc Highliner 🙏🏾❤️🙌🏾. This is why I get angry at all those Plastic Social Media Circus writers who fabricate and falsify documents, stories, medical/surgical records in order to cash in on this poor defenceless woman. They put ‘Sensational’ stories out there which is designed to create the ‘Surprise effect’ for people to sink their teeth into to make money! You can see that a lot of negative things said about her aren’t true at all and you yourself have seen it here. Thank you for voicing it 🙏🏾👍🏾
My poor MM. Her eyes tell a sad story. She was depressed and physically ill, yet making every last attempt at holding herself together and trying to put on a brave face. Everyone knew she was sick... wish someone would've helped her.
Well. There were people who tried to help her, look at Arthur Miller. He knew his wife was a drug addict but he tried in vain to stop her. She wouldn't listen to him. I don't think it's Marilyn's fault at all, her circumstances really fucked her up and she was dependent on substances to the point of even if people wanted to help her, her inner demons wouldn't listen.
The director was being so mean to the kids! They weren't in the shot and since they were messing up their lines why didn't he let them hold their scripts?
When a film is shot a scene is done multiple times for editing purposes to close up on an actor's face and to get the group in a scene. The next time time you watch a show, look at the editing. If there are othere in the scene which there usually are ,know that scene was done many, many times. It could just be a 2 minute scene that could take hours to film.
He turned out to be a 👹 Marilyn and had permission to go to J.F. Kennedys 🎂 🎁 they knew it. Talk about cost, Cleopatra was Way. WAY over Budget Forever in time to make the film. Liz was Making, $1mill For film, the pumping Something Gotta Give in 6 weeks. Enough of this rude 😒 😤 😑 garbage. Marilyn Monroe you did nothing wrong Ever. I'm soo sorry. I love 💘 💗 ♥ 💓 💛 as the world does And consideration for you, Fans growing 👏 👍 Each day Sweetie, rest in peach with you ❤ 💕 💓 MOM. JUDY, DEAN, FRANK and the hundreds that are with you. Spread the angelic ✨ wings.
@@lisag18 The three camera system removed the need for multiple retakes from different angles. They could get it in one shot. Who invented the three camera system? Desi Arnaz in 1951.
She was also longing to have kids of her own. That's why she's always super sweet to kids. Forced abortions & miscarriages caused her unable to have kids in her 30s.
Marilyn looks like she really enjoyed this role as a potential mother to these kids in the movie. It's so unfortunate she didn't get to finish the movie. She looks so beautiful in this film, more than all the ones she did before.
I hate it when Cukor cuts her of in the middle of a beautiful delivery. He lied to us saying that she seemed drugged and underwater and sleep walked through her scenes to such a degree that the footage was unusable. Well Mr Cukor I guess you never thought that this footage would find it's way into the public domain to prove you as a mean spirited liar. Marilyn is superb in this film...a qualifiable fact!
Agreed, she never looked more beautiful , she was never thinner(almost too thin) it's obvious when he made those comments, there was no chance they would ever be viewed by public. Well, Cukor, along with Miller underestimated her worth to the industries history, or the fact she became the largest icon of the world, so far for the centuries to come
couple see howcukourpcouldbe angrvry but still i think that he might be unďer pressure too tge/ the film in the can. .but Marlynper fprmanve >as actually not all that. bad in fact it's rather good but the ppoblems that she may of caused. of set? might have taken toll on the direct[tersmind her insecurity takiing up extra time and adding to the production costs unfortunately no matter how good an actress she was ,this would alienate directors. I think that could be evidence of a )learning disability we're she might have time and coordination Problems .observers also reported her getting words mixed up when speaking she's not stupid she just needed a little more understanding she had some difficulty under standing some things
This angel of a woman was so fantastically beautiful on the inside that it radiated to her physical being on the outside. Marilyn was excited to be working on this film which starred these two young children. She herself struggled to have children and sadly never had children of her own. She was very ill during the filming of this movie and was taking B12 shots and uppers to keep her filming throughout. She had a doctors note to excuse her being ill and unable to show up to the set but still the studio hounded her to get back to work immediately. They were were counting on Marilyn to be the saving grace for the studio because they had gone into bankruptcy due to the enormous amounts of money they had spent on the filming of Cleopatra and the huge payout for their star Dame Elizabeth Taylor. The heavy burden was then put on Marilyn to rescue the studio. This would be considered too much a burden for any star to undertake: Bless her beautiful heart and soul. We miss you Marilyn.💋😘☺️
this clip just makes me fall in love with her even more. so frustrating and sad this movie was never made with her. her acting is so good here. she died just when she was coming into her own and realizing her acting potential. the world is so unjust.love you marilyn.
I just finished the Netflix documentary, I have never followed Marilyn but always knew the name. I haven’t stopped watching videos of her for days this woman absolutely just breaks my heart, you can see she didn’t like the way that awful man was speaking to those children. You deserved so much love and more Marilyn I just want to hug you and tell you that you are so loved! Rest in eternal paradise Norma-Jean ♥️🕊
i’m the exact same! i always obviously knew of her but after watching the netflix documentary i haven’t been able to stop watching videos about her. shes just so captivating. her poor soul, forever miss Norma Jean💔
Same , in tears for a whole week watching her interviews and real footage. I’ve been through this before but that movie rattled everything again. I think the only other person who has captivated the world with their beauty is cleopatra.
There was trouble making this film, yes, but with these clips we can see that Marilyn was indeed a professional actress and there's no way to deny that. Fox was treating her badly and didn't know how to handle her. She must have been very difficult at times but she bloody deserved to be like that. She's absolutely radiant! It really is a shame that Fox made that silly documentary about 'making of' SGTG as it just states how bad she was. Norma Jeane was amazing woman!
Marilyn Monroe, Norma Jeane Baker was always marvelous, kind, and loved everything ❤ ♥ and everyone. She never hurts anyone, not even when many hurt her and treated her badly. Believe me, so many deserved to be reminded of what some did To her. She was Precious, talented, comedian, dancer, singer ❤ ♥ 💖 😍 💙 💕 ❤ could do it all. Above her beautiful 😍 face, sensual body, she was Tender, honest, Kind, vulnerable, And so giving to Everyone, especially the children 🙄 😒 😑. How lucky we were to have Her in our lives. 💘 😻 💜 💛 💚 🧡 you MM/NJB ALWAYS.
I love MM but come on if you are showing up hours late to your job and obviously high as a kite that is not professional she only got over because she was MM.
I love MM she's my favorite all-time star. But nobody is entitled to be difficult only because they are gorgeous. She was amazing but working with her was a nightmare. She has mental issues and nobody try to help her
@@46foryounger I guess you were there on the set in 1962 with them!! 🤔; or you’ve also read from the Falsified and fabricated allegations that you clearly believe! Marilyn had sinusitis which was affected her symptomatically badly…. Have some empathy please 🙏🏾❤️
Can you imagine how she must have really felt? She lost her children and they would have been around the same age as these so they say. Poor Marilyn she just had to go numb inside the way the world used her up
Performing is hard, man. I feel those moments in between takes... been there. Saying the same things for hours on end, trying to get the best/perfect result. The end product tends to make it so worth it, but during the process you have moments where you’re like, “God, why do I do this to myself?”. In the end, those moments were just too much for Marilyn. ♥️♥️♥️ Thank God we have this now to see how hard she worked even when she was ill.
Thing is life is not perfect, we all slip up when talking, walking, eating and so on. I think small slip up would make a movie more natural and not so rehearsed
i could weep that this film never got made with marilyn. form these clips it looks like her acting was getting better and better. such a missed opportunity. love you marilyn.
Poor Marilyn, most were either jealous because they wanted her and couldn't have her and/or wished they could be her. Inspite of it all, she has a lovely spirit.
When the director said can we just do one more and marilyn said yes look at her face at the 1:47 mark that look said it all .I don't think she liked the director at all.
She had worked with George Cukor on Let's Make Love. She had thought it would be a good experience to repeat with Cukor on this film. It wasn't. He was nasty to her, just abominable. I watch these outtakes and I wonder why people said she was unprofessional and couldn't remember her lines. She is nearly perfect and I think Cukor was deliberately trying to rattle Marilyn to make her look bad.
he just yelled and look at the way she just gives a little reassurance to those kids no do the right thing and be quiet! and she looks at the little girl and goes: you will :)
She was so sweet and beautiful...that director was really impatient and bad tempered...i would have forgotten my lines if I had to do that many takes that she did.
Dear Marilyn A good person IN a wrong place IN a wrong time Can end up just of a victim End of off reality and the end unfortunately can be horrible.. LOVE FROM A BEAUTIFUL TIMELESS BELLISSIMA LADY FULL OF CLASS AND ELEGANCE ❣️❤️ MANY THANKS ❤️👍❣️👌🏼❤️
I could watch this on repeat forever shes the love of my life and I’m always thinking of her everyday. Once I move to la I’m gonna visit her for the rest of my life 🤍
Marilyn was phantastic .....isn´t it sad that she didn´t finished this movie ....Cukor dont know what an Icon he had and also couldn´t know that this " fragments " find the way to us . Marilyn just need somebody who really cares and understand - give her all the time she need - it s worth ist ! R I P sweet Lady
My name is Tim and I just love her saying "Timmy come here ", "I wanna hug you".... She had no clue just how good she was as an actress but I do think she was starting to figure it out, a little anyways, IMO. Maybe it was coming with age.
Good greetings to my beautiful princess she will live forever in my heart in my mind and my spirit thank you you will there for me when I was a child you still here even though I'm an adult I love you my dear Marilyn Monroe
Ashley, I love ❤ this. Marilyn and Norma Jeane Baker Was so precise and precious 😍 💖 💓 💕 💗. We all 💘 her. How she looks at those Adorable children 😍 💙 ❤ 💕. I love her laugh. Her mesmerizing gaze. Like these children Were hers. How she wanted to love and hold them. Had she'd never had them, the little 👧 Would have been the age if she had Her own, but, lost Her, her pregnancy. I love you friend 💛 ❤ 💓 💗 as the World misses you each day. Your fans thinking 🤔 😏 😕 👀 always, and your base continues to Grow. Our 💘 😻 💜 💛 💚 is yours.
Thank you very much for posting this incredible footage. Love to watch her emote, over and over. Even when she looks up for direction. About 27years ago, I purchased a couple VHS tapes that had so many out takes of Marilyn from this film. I kept on hoping over the years that Fox would clean up and color correct all of her footage here and release a DVD set of her wonderful performance and some in-between footage of her as well. Some laughing with Dean, some talking to Cukor, but mostly her saying, "sorry, sorry, sorry" many times for making a mistake. Please Fox, release a "Something's Gotta Give" complete box set.
Hollywood killed this beautiful soul- no rest, stress and exploitation.....possibly the Kenney's too from a video of confession I saw on here....sad really sad...💔
Did anyone notice that towards the end of her life she seemed to have a slightly lazy eye sometimes? For some reason I think that made her look even more stunning than she already was!!
Gregory Garland yes and that eye also showed up on pictures and video as having an overexposure or white. In other words, that eye glowed unnaturally like when people get red glowing eyes in pictures--but that lazy eye glowed white. It's usually a tell tale sign of eye or brain cancer/tumor. Makes me wonder. It has been jumping out at me on dozens of videos of her later in life and now I read your comment.
Yes I've noticed it too. You can especially see it here in this close up but you see it in many of her photos. Many actors have it too. It's a less distracting trait than being somewhat cross eyed but with MM she's so absolutely intoxicating and her eyes are so utterly mesmerizing it really doesn't matter (to me). I have photographed a couple of Marilyn like women and they are something to behold. Photographing MM must have been the highlight of every photographer's career who ever got the chance.
i just love her here....i cat believe.....shes so perfect, that makes every other hollywood diva look a man...she s all a female, inspires me to love her....
She was going through alot during this time in her life and it showed when she went to work. I mean, you can tell. Shortly before he death, it truly sad to think about all the foul play that went on with her death as well.
