So much had to do with her mental health. Back then they didn't get it so Marilyn was blamed. It's amazing how much she accomplished on talent and hard work.
I found that as a comedienne she was brilliant, but she would not accept this brilliance. She wanted to be a dramatic actor and, in my opinion, her few dramatic roles were not that good. I loved her in "The 7 Year Itch". Geez, she was perfection in that role. If only she could have accepted her calling instead of fighting it!!! She always wanted to be something she wasn't.
I watched about ten minutes of a serious drama in which she played. She was so good, so disturbing, I actually couldn't keep watching. She terrified me.
Don't Bother To Knock. IT's too bad she didn't get the chance to do more of those kind of films. I like drama when it comes to films, not silliness and stupidity and dick and tits in my face
Ya know, when the STUDIO doctor, who's job it is , is to keep the stars healthy and working, says she's too sick to work, you would THINK the studio itself would take that into consideration since it's own doctor had made the recommendation. JMO.
MM was manic depressive and back in the 60's they had no idea what that was, Patty Duke suffered from the same thing for yrs before being diagnosed and treated......its so sad the MM could not find inner piece and was always looking for love and approval from the WRONG type of men.....
