Marina Diamandis, formerly known by her stage name Marina & The Diamonds, has topped the charts with music that blends powerful pop with an indie sound. Her songs have tackled female stereotypes, rape culture and the frivolity of fame - but the last album was in 2015. Marina took three years off and went to study psychology and attachment theory. Now back with a new album, she talks to Krishnan about her return to music, how political events have influenced her writing and how the media should change the way they treat women.

Marina is the type of artist that cares about humanity and is interested about human psychology so of course she gets teared up when she talks about racism, misogyny and other bad stuff about humans. Crying at 21:00 about racism, msyogny and antihumanism. I have to admit, that during quarantine I have been finally learning so much and reflecting myself. Her mentioning the allowance of herself to stop and feel relieved of the pressure of her work (which I am currently experiencing), and being a “slow” thinker (I relate again) makes me feel so lucky to have found this interview exactly now. I hadn’t even heard of Brexit. Embarrassing. Next for today is listening to “How to analyze people on sight” by elsie and ralph benedict. It’s an audiobook that was recommended to me from a loved one. After hearing that Marina was positively affected by studying psychology, I am looking forward to it.

Marina is such a sensitive and kind soul. Her music continues to inspire people all over the world and it's because it's an extension of her goodhearted nature. I can't wait to hear what she's written and understand how to grow as a better person. Go Marina!!

Marina is so intelligent and articulate I love how she’s speaking up about important issues around the world that are happening right now that need to be addressed instead of being swept under the rug . I love how she’s using her platform to help people with their struggles that their dealing with in their life . Her music is powerful and therapeutic to listen too every time I listen to her i feel alive she’s so captivating to watch theirs something so special about her that I find quite remarkable she’s a pure gem 💎 love Marina she looks gorgeous as always . Lemon Line he asked Robert Downey Jr. about his alcoholism he went through, it was quite personal and the interview was supposed to be about his movie, not his past.

Very inspiring and thought-provoking. After this interview I kinda feel connected to Marina. She seems quiet sincere and vulnerable which makes it easy to identify with her as a person and also with her music 💕
