Greece should always sing in greek because their language sounds so good! I hope Greece will be on top this year. Big kisses and hugs from Portugal to our beloved greeks. We love you
We love you too very much and you know that. You are our Mediterranean family. And Greece and Portugal have one more reason, same size countries, sea countries, long history and culture, same population, both have experienced same financial problems at the same time. 🇬🇷 💙 🇵🇹
I don't think that the people were ready for this at this year's ESC. I guess, this song was way too sophisticated, way too avant-garde for them. This song was light-years ahead of the rest. Absolutely awesome, keep it up, Marina!
I believe the same. In few years they will copy Marina satti. They didn’t understand at all the song and not even the performance in Eurovision. By far something new and fresh.
I learned that her father passed away very shortly before the competition. It must be very hard. Despite everything, she gave a great performance. Congratulations komşuuu!🇹🇷❤️🇬🇷
Greeks today are really sad, as our Marina lost her father some hours ago. Marina be strong, all Greeks are with you! Our deep condolences to you and your mother! 💙🤍💙
I'm so proud of you Marina, you are the first artist in Greece to be in the top 16 Viral Global songs on Spotify and 8th best album this year with Greek-Lyric songs!!!❤ We Greeks so proud!! Filakia Mantissa 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
No Greek likes it for various reasons. First and foremost, Marina is not Greek. This year we sent the worst mission in the chronicles of Eurovision. All the rest, no Greek has had problem. The previous ones were by beautiful Greek people singing beautiful Greek songs. Even if we come last, we don't care. All we want to see, actual Greeks representing us properly. As you see in other comments, Turks, Arabs and Balkaners found their culture on this song, but it has nothing to do with Greece and European classiness.
@@ApuestoGarcia She clearly chose her Arab part. Also, she said it herself, "the madder Greeks get, the more I'm willing to push it" (the Arabo-Turko-Gypsy stuff). My forefathers long ago set up who is to be called Greek. First, those who have both parents Greek. Second and most importantly, those who receive the Greek education. This second one entailed, included too many responsibilities. Marina doesn't pass neither of the two criteria. In any case, non-Greeks don't have a say, won't tell us who will we regard as 'Greeks'. As I mentioned, all the 41K down-votes come by Greeks. For the first time so many dislikes in a Euro-vision "Greek" song. The Greek element is completely missing. Even when we were singing in English, the Greek element was way more visible, present, unlike Marina.
Mahmood is half Arab half Italian and his songs have arab influence; I think this enriches his songs, that's why we have chosen him twice for the Eurovision.. in 'soldi' he also sang a few verses in arabic. I believe Eurovision to be a place where artists can experiment, otherwise what a bore it would be!
@@aris.makedonia1914 It is. She is using the musical instrument called "Zournas" throughout her song. An instrument that is part of our traditional music, especially northern Greece (Macedonia). Zournas is used in other balkan countries too. So yes, definitely balkan and since Greece is part of the Balkans, it represents our country, too. Greece is not just bouzouki and syrtaki. Look beyond Athens and the Cyclades and you'll see. Unless you don't want to. 😊
@@lm.123 I am Macedonian. The crucial is not the instrument but the whole context in which it is used. Is this representative of macedonian folk music? Of course not. This is pure gypsy trash, a postmodern melange which wants to show up as traditional but it ends as a great disrespect towards Tradition. This is not Greece. I cannot recognise my macedonian grandparents and parents here. Only the Gypsies from Dendropotamos.
@@Mesosrae but my English teacher is Italian and says it's just bravo for both genders, but maybe she made a mistake idk. Thanks for correcting me tho-
That's why no Greek likes it. The worst mission we ever sent in the chronicles of Eurovision. All the 41K dislikes are by Greeks. The "likes" are by foreigners who have no idea about Greece, Greeks and Greek music. Of course, Turks like it, you found your element, Arab singer and song. No European classiness. All the previous songs we sent were by beautiful Greek people with beautiful Greek songs representing us properly. You'll never find so many dislikes in any other Greek song of Eurovision.
@@dimitra15 Sure, because you're 15 years old. You'll grow up and understand better a couple of issues, for instance, who we Greeks are and supposed to be. You'll also learn about our legendary Greek music which this wasn't it. Be patient, Dimitra. You also have one of our most beautiful old Greek Goddesses' names. Like my niece who is called "Athenά" in stark contrast of "Mehmet" or "Mohammed" or "Abdul". Lastly, you should know by now, unless our schools already started failing us, never fall for what the Turks say. They hate us as much as they hate all their neighbors, the Arabs, the Armenians etc. Always watch your back against a Turk.
It was finally ranked 11th 🤥 Creece appreciated much more I would give marina satti and ZARI 7th place as a greek if we put out some countries from the top ten . These countries are :🇵🇹 🇸🇪 🇦🇲 🇮🇱
My favorite by far: original, eclectic, folkroristic, innovative... just gorgeous.... One face, one race...
No. This girl shouldn't even be there. I wonder who was the one who brought her back without ANY process to represent Greece while all Greeks had forgotten about her. Also, she's not Greek. She's Arab Sudanese. She played her childish political games in a musical contest while she's 40 years old. She refused to parade with the Greek flag and also went against her Israeli co-artist. Entirely antithetical to our official foreign policy. Greece is clearly with Israel. Even the song has had nothing Greek. Only Turko-Gypsy Oriental stuff. Marina said it herself, "the madder Greeks get, the more she's willing to push it". And that's why we all had forgotten about her. Look all the dislikes. They're all by Greeks. No Greek liked this gypsy oriental stuff. The "likes" are by foreigners who have no idea about Greek music. The good is, Marina will be forgotten again very soon.
@@Aaliyah_Matyevna For first place I don’t know but better place than 11th for sure. I tell you what???I am Greek and I don’t f@cking care. She is an artist and not a politician. We don’t even know for sure if all this happens because of this. Marina in general is a person that react spontaneously. Maybe she make it on purpose but maybe not. Some day she will tell us the truth…stay tuned…
This is more than Eurovision.. This is GlobalVision. The Greek voice unites the music of all continents. So many sounds and cultures in this masterpiece. Congrats Marina Satti.
Marina you have our condolences for the loss of your father. All people are by your side with lots of love and support! You are the winner!!🥇🎉 12 points from France 🇫🇷
This was by far the best entry for Eurovision this year, how it didn’t get the people’s vote to win is beyond me, I mean seriously how fresh is this sound and her lush vocals at the beginning to going into the song just full on ‘hey this is me I can do good’ sound…. Love it!!!! Hopefully booking tickets to see her in London later this year I’m Sure she’s going to put on a good show ❤️
Greece delivers an ethno-traditional pop rap song with Indo, Balkan,Mediterranean elements, in Greek language, in a self-sarcastic video that combines love, food, way of life, ordinary people, highlights of Athens, many Greek traditional dances etc. Its fresh, sassy, badass, its different, artistic, like Marina. Love it
Greeks have a magic chatacteristic from the ancient to present times: we use to merry our tradition with the elements of the east and the west, the past and the present. In this way we managed to create a huge cultur and we we creat new things! This song is an example of this.
It's not Greek. It's Arab singer with Oriental elements. The Greek, European classiness was missing completely. The worst mission we've ever sent in the chronicles of Eurovision. Unfortunately, as Turkiye, we do not participate in Eurovision That's why I'm supporting Greece this year It's great to participate in your native language and with a song that reflects your own culture. Unfortunately, many countries participate with songs that mimic American songs. I hope you win this year. 12 points from me to Greece! 🇹🇷 🇬🇷
Mate, sure, it's Greek language, but hear me out. I'm not even in the slightest impressed. Let me explain. I don't know why we've chosen an Arab to represent us making fun of Greece. She overstretches it. She admitted it herself. Actual Greeks complain about her romά-people-like behavior, but that makes her madder and more determinant to push it even more. This isn't by any stretch of imagination the Greece I know, born and bred with as an actual Greek. But, again, as I mentioned, Marina does it on purpose 'cause of her ego. Thank you for your consideration and understanding. I'd prefer one like Evangelia, while she combines purely Greek with American-Pop music. The results are fantastic in some of her few video clips. Check out the songs "Fotia" or "Pame-Pame" by Evangelia. She's also the personification of a true Greek Goddess in her simplicity. Thank you for your consideration and understanding. I mean no disrespect, but Eurovision was supposed to showcase each nation with their unique elements of each European (and some non-European) ones.
Dude what are you talking about, this isn't greece...have you been to greek weddings or panigiria in greek villages or within the working class neighborhoods in Athens and Thessaloniki?? What do you think, everyone's raised with French and piano 😂 This is exactly greece, a mix of eastern, balkan, ancient greece and wannabe western elements... Video is spot on.. I think Marina is very smart artist, is highly musically educated (literally french and piano😅)in classical music etc etc and she seems to enjoy herself and the music she makes... I think singing in Greek it's her best feature, as in her own career..not just for ESC❤ Evangelia is just a google translate card postal... but ok it's her style, no issue.
@@dimmicho I don't need Balkaners to tell me about my non-Balkan country they have no idea about. You can imagine whatever you want. It's not my problem. Just keep out of Greek videos, go to yours. We don't come to yours to bother you, do we? So... See you another time.
What is that question pointing to? And what that yes meaning too? To show us the bots that are manipulating everything and unique votes to the public has no use any more other than bot counting on public opinions? I personally believe that you should banned bot!
Half of Turkey is historically Greece, and the indigenous Anatolian Greek population was annihilated during the genocides in 1914/1915. You know that right?
My two favorites songs were yours and Ladavina song, what a pleasure to hear countries in their languages at Eurovision, not like the others in english, they lost their roots! I m from France and we sing in french too...hooray Marina be always yourself and i love your songs!!!
The music video is a satire of stereotypes of foreigners about Greece. Tzatziki, gyros, souvlaki, etc... Marina said that she wants people to go beyond these stereotypes of Greece. Mixed with modern Greece and culture, showing us the greek 'cult'. She also said "you want me to give you feta, gyros and acropolis? Here you go but we are more than that so you're also goanna see what Greece actually is" Unique Marina ❤
Why satire¿ There is not much more to it than this. Even Sati that wanted to do something of quality when she started, now invests on the trashy fake tzatziki, white cheese instead of feta type of culture. It is so obvious what is going down nowadays in Greece.
This song is by far the best. It encompasses various music genres like techno, pop, oriental, folklore, etc. In one word, it's magnificent. It's very different from the typical Eurovision songs, and I want to listen to it on repeat. Your stage performance was also amazing. Congratulations, Marina.. The first place was rightfully yours. Greetings from Turkey.
We finally get to witness what Greece really is! Zari is an AMAZING song and I really hope to see it in the TOP 10! Love and support from Bulgaria! 🇧🇬❤️🇬🇷
You always support us in eurovision and we Greeks appreciate that. The only neighbouring country that gives us so many points. Deeply thank you nice Bulgaria!! 🇬🇷🇧🇬🇬🇷🇧🇬🇬🇷🇧🇬🇬🇷🇧🇬🇬🇷🇧🇬
I love the way she shows so many scenes of daily life of her country. I’ve visited Greece three times and I love the culture and the people, always so lovely. ❤ Kisses from Italy
This song is a banger what an amazing masterpiece she got power in her hands, she really wants it, she fights for the victory. 12 points from France to Greece
