to all the people who think this is fascism or brainwashing abuse, join JROTC. my platoon had this done to them and laughed about it afterwards, the marines were cool guys who wanted to teach us how to keep calm during pressure. if you can't handle friendlies yelling in your ear, you can't handle bullets whizzing past you.
You salute anyone performing inspection, cadets salute everyone in uniform regardless of rank. He did the right thing, the Marine was just trying to throw him off.
DJ Ngo ... Lol. I learned this in high school. It’s common knowledge... www.universetoday.com/123218/how-long-is-a-day-on-earth-2/ medium.com/the-philipendium/a-day-is-not-24-hours-c36ee96078c6 You were saying????
Agm Smith sister, proper math babe, 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds doesn’t equate to 24 hours, go back and retake night school you high school dropout
ElAnill0 bro I’m not trying to act like I’m a real soldier I know I’m just a dumb ass kid and can never truly understand a soldiers sacrifice and dedication I was just saying that I am in Afjrotc like the kids in the video
During the middle of this I was waiting for one of the AF’s person in charge to come in and “kick the crap out of the marines” but really it would be the marine’s Sargent to come in and kick the crap out of the marines
I see comments of people calling these Marines idiots or goofs and shit but, they are simply testing the JROTC Honor guards ability to react under pressure and scrutiny.
+YakuzaYue saber guard are the ones with swords for ceremonial functions. color guard act as bearers of flags for things like football games w/ flags already masted like here. honor guard to my knowledge is used to raise flags for ceremonies like 9/11 at least in jrotc
Yeah until you're in the position and all you can do is sit there scared shitless with your only thought being how to please those Marines so you dont get grilled for the rest of your days.
1:56 Marine: Are you a little bit constipated? Recruit: No sir!! Marine: No? Recruit: No sir Marine: Ok just wanted to know because you're shaking and I can't figure out why!
it depends on what school you go to, my school has them for seamen and petty Officer of the month, top 12, leadership academy stuff like that They are also called lapels
This is his mind "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?" "should I do it or not?"
Marine: Do I deserve a salute? Cadet: YES SIR! Marine: AM I AN OFFICER? Cadet: NO SIR? Marine: SO WHY DO I DESERVE A SALUTE? According to customs and curtsies of JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, Young Marines and Sea Cadets, all military personnel are to be saluted by cadets, though they do not have to return the salute.
Theta Niner Its the choice of the Instructors or Military Members I had a Master Sgt that said salute all military members no matter what rank and we got two new instructors who are the same rank dont salute themselves because they are enlisted
*Marine:* Ohhhhhhhh look at the bolt. That's cuuuute. I like it. *Cadet:* Thank you sir. *Marine:* Ohhh you're welcome. You are very welcome. Now I see why the Air Force is scared of Marines.
*Marine: WHAT IS THIS FOR?* Cadet: Perjfuuuaan *Marine: WHAT?* Cadet: Peurjdiakani *Marine: SPEAK ENGLISH* Cadet: Permission To Look Sir? Marine: oh okay, you can look..
When I was in NJROTC in the early 90's I had to pleasure of getting worked by some of the BUDS instructors for the morning....6 hours of pure hell...but I enjoyed it. They knew to bring you to the breaking point, and take it down just below that.
As a JROTC cadet I feel like you don't understand that there's no military obligation for JROTC. It's college level ROTC that has actual military obligation. JROTC is just a leadership lab with military elements
My first sergeant and Captain did this to our entire company for inspection it was hilarious not to mention it was the day before Veterans Day ceremony so we were extra nervous
I would take any of those ROTC recruits for my son every day! And Semper Fi to the US Marines just giving them a little encouragement! What good young men..their parents should be very very proud!
Koscher Potatoes im pretty sure with all that training you get used to all the shounting and screaming in your face its part of training. But because im not military it is definitely an awkward scenario to watch.
Cho Hun Lim Indeed, and I'm glad you can see the point of this drill and test of bearing for training, or at least keep an open mind on it. Most civilians that comment on these types of videos are clueless to the fact that these cadets voluntarily did this and have trained over the course of time to do this color guard.
During AIT,....we had Cadets from Westpoint. We were required to refer to them as either "drill-cadet", or "sir". They tried really hard to be hardasses, but they just couldn't pull it off. They just didn't have that level of "psycho" that the Drill Sergeants did !! LOL
I was a sea cadet about 12 years ago and we had marines do this to us. Real good guys they just wanted To test our Military bearing. Wonder how they are doing now. Always wished I could’ve earned the title, unfortunately my meds stop me. Thank you for your service to anyone in the comments.
This was great. You people actually think their serious? A bunch of Marines scaring some kids and I thought this was amazing. The Marines probably walked off and started laughing their asses off.
If these kids lost respect for those Marines from this then they shouldn't even attempt to join the Military, I have a good feeling that the kids walked away laughing too.
May I ask then...what they are doing here b/c I don't understand all the hostility from the 3 musketeers...(the ones yelling and acting like asshats)...haha! I know it's likely some kind of test or drill but is it always this humiliating for lesser/newer cadets/people? This makes me wonder.....a LOT!!
+bane They're teaching them the pressures of taking commands during combat, and to never question a commanding officers orders no matter how dumb they are (and the marine is just having a little fun doing it), just because it seems unorthodox and silly does not mean it's not an effective training method.
