He had every disadvantage put in his way and has become a three-star general with a long career of effective, inspiring service to the nation and the Corps. Obstacles? Lt. General Williams is what everyone should want to be: an all-purpose, problem solving excuse killer. Well done.
Pop, a career Marine, always taught us there was only one color that mattered, Marine Green, and we all bled the same red blood. While I never entered the Marines, I took that ideal with me, into my service time. And back into my civilian life, where I view hatred, bigotry, and prejudice as unwanted pals. I do not look at the color of a man's skin, but at the man contained in that skin. Some come up lacking, and receive only basic respect, others, prove themselves to be worthy of not only respect, but trust as well.
I was stationed in DC at 8th & I when LtGen Williams was there. Had the pleasure of escorting his beautiful daughter into the Evening Parade one Friday. He's an awesome Marine and she is a very gorgeous lady, and so is his wife.
The only person that can defeat you is you, and the only way to become better is to defeat your inner weaker self. That's what makes Marines stand out. Semper Fi my fellow Devil Dogs. Hooorah!
African Americans have the fiercest history of adversity by far, but Asian Americans still faced adversity as well as overcome it but no one ever gives a rats ass about the Asian American medal of honor recipients or the number of 1-2 star generals in the army and marine corps, and colonels since the korea/Vietnam war era, as well as a 4 star general, and a man who served 30 years in the civil war and never gained his citizenship and all of them remain far more invisible than whites or blacks, despite similar adversaries and achievements in the military. Which regiment is the most decorated in all of American history? Any guesses?

This is why I’m so proud of our Marine Corps. This man went from picking cotton to becoming a flag officer in the worlds most elite military organization. Simply incredible!
The best military service. Is Being an American. You gotta believe. Marines/military fight for the CONSTITUTION OF AMERICA 🇺🇸. believe that. AMERICANS STAND. For freedom. Believe that. I do…
what happened to all those great looking uniforms, for me, the only good looking one is all of the Marines uniforms, the A,B,C,D n service dress, they all look really great
That's a dumbass fucking question, a lt general is a 3star and commands corps or corps sized units. You have any idea how fucking few 3 stars or 4 stars there are? There are probably only 100 ish 1 star generals in a military branch too(and the one stars are usually have the same command as colonels - brigades - but are still generals) at the most and like 60 of 1-4 stars in the marine corps. If you don't meet promotion, you get kicked except by an act of Congress, and any general is a big, BIG deal.
That's because you are a blazing idiot, and a person who doesn't understand the difficulties of being a US MARINE, and understanding that nothing is guaranteed
I'm ashamed you had to say your ethnicity, as-if it should matter in this world. Do you know how you stop racism? Stop talking about it. I wouldn't care if you are white, yellow, brown or blue. Just telling me that this video inspired you is enough.
