Best I've heard so far is an orks concept of defeat: An ork never loses. If they win, they win. If the fightings to hard, they run away and win another day. And if they die, they also win, cause it was a good fight... and that's all an ork really care about.

@UCAQbcU0iWC-K1YG7x3pHGUA Weird Boiz. And Orks don't question those things. They just do what they do. They want something to go fast from here to there so they put some wheels on some metal bits and push. They see it works and have fun. Then they see a dakka dakka and how fast bull'tz fly out from it and they take what's in the dakka dakka and put it at the end of their wheelz-on-bits part and add fire to it so it goes fasta. They don't consider chemical reactions or something, nor action and reaction, or jet propulsion. They just see something go bwush and put it or something that looks similar on what they want to go bwush as well. It is even theorised that the only reason their stuff explodes is because when something goes too well, the Orks that look at it and the ones enjoying it start questioning why it works so well and that's the moment it explodes. There's no reason to them... it's just "that's how it is". And it's the same with Weird Boiz. They experience that they can make stuff go boom when the fink 'ard enuf, and they like things to go boom, so they just keep making things go boom with their minds. At some point they want to make another Ork go boom and do it. That's the moment they get invited to the next mosha event against those other boiz in the next camp. And at some point, if they're lucky, they can make some Empire Boiz go boom. Orks love to mosh against Empire Boiz, because they fight with everything they got like all the time, and Weird Boiz are no exeption to that. The Empire Boiz usually have some Weird Boiz of their own, which is why making stuff explode against them is extra fun for the Ork Weird Boiz. And if the Weird Boiz of the Empire Boiz get too tired or startled by some super fun big explosion, sometimes a couple of Chaoz Boiz suddenly join in on the fight as well, which will generally turn into a mega mosha party which is even more fun. Orks don't question the state of the universe or themselves. They enjoy and do what they like.

It's not so much mankind that sees Orks as succesful, it's just... true, really. In the words of Uthan the Perverse (controversial Eldar scholar): "The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude."

The Templin Institute didn't touch on the primary form of interstellar travel Orks use. They collect asteroids, hollow it out, attach a bunch of HUGE rockets to it, then light the rockets. It's called a Rok. No steering or anything, just crash the Rok into a planet. Hope it's populated so there can be some good krumping. Orks will die in the crash, and in any resulting conflict, then the spores will make more Orks.

The main reason why the Orks haven't Krumped the entirety of the galaxy in 40K is because they are not fully aware of their own capabilities. They don't comprehend that if a couple million of them get together and convince themselves that they are unbeatable, they truly would be unbeatable. Also, the thing about Orks is that they were designed for war (against the Necron's specifically); They are addicted to it, and even dieing in battle is just fun times for them. They are essentially a biological weapon from dozens of millenia ago with no off-switch running loose. They are also the most funny race all in all due to their wacky powers. They are terrifying in a straight-up fight, but when you want to see the funny parts of 40K, you will often see Orkish involvement. Also, if you want to see the nastiest species of 40K, look no further than the Necrons or the Tyranids. Both are *actually* out to destroy all life. EDIT - As far as I know, Orks don't really understand their own reproduction either. They just think that if there is a good fight to have, then the boyz will come; And that belief is likely what causes the spores to grow new orks. Finally, taking damage doesn't really strengthen an Ork. Fighting and winning does that. Taking damage is just a non-issue to them, unless it's fatal. Also, losing literally weakens an ork.

Little fun fact about orks, they use their teeth as currency. So if an ork gets injured and requires attention from painboyz (doc), take a gander how the painboy will get paid if said ork doesn't have enough loose teeth on him... The Orks ability to will things into existence even applies to the color of something. Yellow - causes bigger explosions, if they painted a rock yellow and someone shot it, that rock would explode. Red - moves faster. Blue - lucky, bullets will miss more, will find more teeth (their currency), etc Black - Tougher, can resist more gunfire than the average ork. Green - general improvement, anything is improved if it’s green. Purple - Makes things sneakier because have you ever seen a purple ork? Also, my favorite fan made story relating to the orks believing something into existence is some imperial guardsmen running out of ammo and just pointing their guns at orks and going “BANG!” and the orks would get shot by nothing. This went on to the point some guardsmen started yelling “THROWING A GRENADE” as they tossed a rock at some of them. The rocks exploded and killed some orks. Because this could literally happen while fighting some orks.
@seraphinaaizen6278
@seraphinaaizen6278 3 года назад
Long story short: Orks like to fight. It's literally all the do. And they're basically a killer fungus. It's interesting that you talked about weaponizing the orks, because one of the most common theories for their origins is that they were genetically engineered as biological weapons, but quickly overran their own creators. Which makes sense, given their incomprehensible physiology. Yeah, orks are the "classic enemy" in Warhammer 40k. Space Marines and Orks were the two poster factions for most of the game's run time, although Orks have kind of been replaced by other, more sophisticated factions (most notable Chaos, who are still the 'Big Bad'), but Orks remain very popular because they have so much character. But ork armies tend to be rather uncomplicated; their troops are cheap, their numbers massive, and they're really good in close combat but not so good at shooting. If orks usually can't outgun an Imperial Guard army, but by god they can run right over them in close quarters unless the Imps thought to bring along some Space Marines to save them. Ork invasions aren't especially sophisticated. They don't intentionally plant the spores; the spores just seem to be shed naturally be the orks and their fleets; any anywhere an ork has been, the spores are left behind. And they can lie dormant for decades or centuries before flowering. This is one reason why ork infestations are so dangerous; even if you defeat an ork attack, your children or your children's children will probably have to endure a fresh wave if you don't succeed in completely exterminating the spores. I don't know if the ork spores survive in space like Tyranid spores do. But I suspect that they do. So they might even be able to attach themselves to ships, asteroids and other things in space to be transported to world that an ork has never set foot on.
@Seldonlair
@Seldonlair 3 года назад
A comment about the short barreled bolt guns of the Space Marines: the round of a boltgun is pretty much a semi-sentient dumb AI explosive round that has very limited self-guiding capabilities. To put that simply: when the gun is fired, it is fired with a bit of a targeting link from the Space Marine's power armor via their Black Carapace. The round is a two-parter - the first part basically blasts the warhead out of the barrel at a high speed and allows the round to clear the barrel, which then kicks off the second blast of the warhead - multiple gyrorockets at the base which then further propel the warhead towards its target with very crude and very limited AI guidance (no curving bullets, but perhaps an assist in gravity drop or slight minute changes on the horizontal axis). If you go back and rewatch Astartes Part 4 you can actually see this gyrorocket propulsion system in the fight against the psykers. This is sorta why in a round-about wearrivedatthisawesomenessbecauewescrewedupinthefirstplace how the boltgun looks the way it does. Essentially they made the weapons look cool on models, and then they had to actually work out how it functioned later. In terms of weapon functionality you shouldn't think of a boltgun as a rifle (though there are larger and longer-barreled variants that are just such a thing) but more of a 20mm grenade launcher. It blasts out one bit, and then that bit says "Cool, ENGAGE RAMMING SPEED!" as it decides that massive amounts of propellant are just not good enough and it fires of mini rockets as well. Oh, it also has essentially a tungsten tipped penetrating head and that same AI inside of it is coupled to a mass-reactive sensor that says "Hey! I'm inside something!" nanoseconds before deciding its best course of action is to then violently detonate inside of said something. Hence why all the poor humans you see in Astartes 2-3 tend to messily explode. Hope that helps!

Goff clan wear mostly black or black/white check, they tend to have bigger orks and specialise in melee attacks. The Bad Moons wear yellow, they grow teeth faster and horde wealth so they tend to have more guns and specialise in ranged shooting. Back in the day each of the clans had loads of cool sounding sub- clans and there's nothing to stop you coming up with your own back story for your particular army, so you can paint them how you want. On the table top, picking a clan gives you a set of rules you can use that affect the best way of building your army. For eg, Goffs rules give you additional hits in close combat and makes your hits stronger, which plays into the orks natural strength in close combat. I tend to paint mine as slightly-too-colourful goffs, which lets me pick another clan if I want to build my army differently. The occasional red bit of armour so I can say they are evil sunz, or a splash of yellow so they might be bad moons. At the moment the most powerful clan rules wise is goffs, probably, and the power armoured orks fit well in that clan.

The Orks in the Warhammer 40k universe, are the funniest but also most terrifying alien race of the setting. Sure, they're silly, speak with a funny british hooligan accent and blow themselfs up or do other dumb shit. But they're also an unstoppable, brutal fighting force that literally lives only for war, is resilient af, can multiply at crazy rates by laying spores, doesn't feel pain nor fear and has immense latent psychic abillities. They get stronger/bigger with every battle they win, so they fight *all the time* . One Ork Warboss, Tuska Demonkilla, invaded the Warp (the ''Hell dimension'') and started a campaign against Chaos demons, just because they were ''so much fun to fight''! Yes, Orks are that badshit insane and awesome, at the same time. Their technology works, because they literally ''make it work by believing that it does'' via their psychic powers! If they would ever stop fight each other,learn how to channel their psychic powers & unite under one leadership, they would literally curve stomp the entire galaxy. They almost did this, during the ''War of the Beast'', where they came one step away of conquering the Imperium. During this period,their strenght & intelligence grew exponentially. They managed to build ''attack moons'' (think Death Stars ala Star Wars and yes not just 1 or 2, dozens of them!) & armor similar to power armor of Space Marines & annihilated almost the Imperial Fists (one of the greatest Astarters chapters) and entire imperial armies. They're the only faction that forced a Tyranid Hive fleet into tactical retreat, because even the Tyranids said: ''Nope, screw it we gonna retreat.''

The orks themselves never PLAN out their spore planting. However, the orks are ALWAYS fighting, even with other orks. There are no "kid gloves" in ork fights, so some of them (a lot of them) die in scuffs and skirmishes that spawn out of sheer boredom. This activity sends spores into the air, planting more fungus. They do not need to plan, because their intrinsic nature creates "spore farms"

the key to understanding Orks is that their analog of Adrenaline is also their endorphines, growth hormone, pleasure signal and fear hormone - if you get them excited, angry, hurt, scared, etc and they survive, they get bigger, smarter and more powerful. It also makes them release more spores, so a battlefield ends up covered in ork fungus

There's an anecdote of a human soldier picking up an Ork gun after a battle with said Orks and trying to test fire it to no avail. Suddenly an Ork nearby who was previously thought dead rose up and ambushed the soldier, who shot and killed the Ork with the previously non-functioning weapon. Afterwards the human techpriests disassembled the Ork gun to discover that it was only a hollow metal box with scrap inside.

A curious fact about how the orks could make things work by their sheer will: There is a human commissar named Sebastian Yarrick who is feared and revered as the only human who is stronger than an ork. They believe that HARD that nothing can kill Yarrick that the latent psi power of the orks make Yarrick surpass his normal lifespan and survive injuries that should have killed him.

Another point on this: Yarrick heard a rumor that the orks believed he could kill with a glare, so he got a freaking "Bale Eye" implanted.one of his eyes is a Las-gun, because the orks thought he could kill with a glare.

I've settled with the understanding that in 40k, since bolts (The ammunition) are basically self propelled, like small rockets, the back pressure from a longer barrel isn't necessary. I could be wrong but i do remember reading or watching something that stated bolts would continue to accelerate after leaving the barrel, unlike bullets.
@mrrodgers0
@mrrodgers0 3 года назад
This is the correct answer. Note that only bolters have short barrels. The vindicare assassin has what we would consider a long-barreled anti-materiel rifle (but is actually anti-personel in the 40k universe because even the armor is op) that fires non-self-propelled ammunition.

Thankfully for the rest of the galaxy Orks don't know about this latent psychic power they have. They are simply too dumb and straight-forward focused. By straight-forward I mean Straight... Forward... into battle. To them the fact of life that things painted red "go fastah" is as normal and immutable an idea as a human's blood being red or fire being hot to the touch. Ork weapons fall literally apart in the hands of non-orks. But if a greenskin takes a "shoota" given to him by a Mekboi he just trust blindly into the fact that the Mekboi knows what he is doing and so it, unlike Fallout 76, just works. This does even extend past Orks themselves... There is one instance in a novel where Orks were trying to get away from a bunch of Blood Angels (or was it Blood Raven?) Terminator Space Marines. Terminator armor is ridiculously durable and in equal measure slow as fuck. But as the color paintjob of the terminators in question was RED, and the Orks just KNOW that red stuff goes faster the impossible happened. The Terminators could actually CATCH UP with the Orks and murder them like the filthy xenos they are. Still a funny story.
@TheMaxCloud

So that means that orks can just change how the universe works based on their beliefs, but they are stupid enough to not realize how strong they are, so they are not that strong because of their lack of intelligence.
@Fransens
@Fransens 3 года назад
@@TheMaxCloud Yes and no. In theory they can change any aspect of the universe but it's only ever happening when Orks are around to witness and thus will it into being. The space marine terminators with the red paintjobs only got faster because there were Orks around to believe in Red Goes Fastah. It's like Schrödingers Cat. Only that it just matters if an ORK can percieve something. Also mind you alone each Orks is a laughably weak latent psyker in general, but it amplyfies the more Orks are together. Weirdbois, the Ork's version of actual psykers, actually tap into THIS power instead of the warp. But since all OTHER Orks tap into the warp without knowing and on such a low level the other Orks don't produce Psychic Phenmomena or Perils Of The Warp. ...but the Weirdboi does, but it's all colored by the Orkiness. That's also the reason why Orks have their own random effects table when rolling for bad shit happening when casting psychic powers. And yes, they are not smart enough to realize all that. Personally, and some fellow 40K nerds might metaphorically hang me for this, I use cartoon-logic when dealing with Orks as a gamemaster for 40K roleplaying groups. It's gotta make folks laugh, it can be random AF and whatever happens in 99% of cases it's fun for the Orks as they crave violence. I did for instance have Ork Kill Kroozers send Ork Boarding Torpedoes to my player's ship, but I ALSO had a gaggle of a few hundred Orks be so fucking impatient and hyped for Gettin' Stuck In Wif Da Boiz that they literally left their Kroozer, climbed out on the hull and jumped over when the ships were close enough. Did most of them make it? Of course not. Did the, as a whole, pretty much forget they should die in the vacuum of the Void? Ayup. What killed most of them were the other hazards of jumping a few kilometers to another city-sized ship... point defense turrets, being literally between two ships that shoot each other with building-sized cannons, and of course missing the ship entirely. I had a few dozen survive and board to give my players an additional encounter and we all had a fuckton of laughs. XD

about the warband in the eye of terror, it is lead by tuska daemon-killa: once upon a time, tuska was a simple warboss flying through the warp, then the gellar field (the thing that keeps daemons from entereng the ship) failed, so he killed all of the daemons that entered in his ship. he then realized how fun to kill and looty they were and decided to keep traveling through the warp without the gellar field and kept killing daemons until no daemon came near the ship, so he went straight to the eye of terror and started killing everything in there, planet by planet, until he reached a world of khorne, the god of war. there, tuska was killed by a daemon prince (but not before literally slicing off his balls), but khorne liked him so much he keeps reviving tuska and his boyz every single day to fight his best armies. so tuska is the only 40k character to achieve a happy ending

To put things into perspective how BONKERS Ork Tech is: An Imperial inquisitor tried to fire an ork gun and obviously nothing happened as it was a hollow tube a screwed on trigger and a hollow box, no ammo. Then he put the gun into the hand of a recently dead ork and used that orks finger to pull the trigger, the gun immediately fired, working perfectly despite the fact that there is no way the gun should be able to work. Also, Orks reproduce constantly, when they bleed, when they fight and especially after they die they release spores into the air that will create more Orks in due time. If an Ork sets foot on a planet for even a few seconds, that planet is gonna be facing repeated Ork infestations for decades to come unless it's glassed completely at least 5 times over and then subjected to exterminatus... JUST in case. And even then that's still not a 100% guarantee, Orks are tough.

The Imperium (well Astartes Chapters) tries to keep an eye on the various mini Ork empires within its bounds and on its borders. So that if a Ork boss is starting to get too powerful they will attempt (not always successfully) to assassinate him causing a civil war as all the Nobz try to become Da Boss. This is a mostly successful tactic with some notable exceptions that have caused the Imperium some small degree of unpleasantness (heavy English understatement) such as the minor skirmish for the planet of Armageddon.

the thing with ork guns being a box filled with random parts is a bit exaggerated. Most ork guns are built like actual guns, but because the Orks believe that it will work, minor mistakes that would normally render a gun imoperable don't seem to make any difference. Although in rare cases, if there are a huge number of orks, some of the guns might just be boxes filled with bullets.

There's a particularly scary part of the Ork history, an era known as the War of the Beast, set centuries after the Horus Heresy, the Imperium found itself besieged by the entirety of the Ork race united and evolving. Basically what had happened was an Ork Warboss had becomes so big and powerful that it affected the race's entire psyche. Like I said, it brought the entire race together under a single banner and caused the whole race to become stronger and more intelligent. In fact, the Orks Clans mentioned in the video were created by the Beast, it organizing the Ork race into specific roles in it's Empire. That they have continued to exist thousands of years later goes to show it's influence on the Orks. Naturally this all turned out to be as horrible for the rest the galaxy and the Imperium in particular. Terra was besieged by one of a number of Ork Attack Moons. In others words, a Death Star size warship. And they built multiple of them. And that particular Ork Warboss they talked, Ghazghkull. Well there's speculation that he's nearing the level of Ork development that the Beast achieved.

Other examples of Ork reality-bending stupidity powers at work: Ork spacecraft are often powered by PROPELLER BLADES. In SPACE. Because they're too thick to understand how a propeller works, and thus why a propeller will literally provide zero propulsion in space. Propellers just make things go, therefore, they should work just fine for spaceships just like they do planes. And because every flippin' ork believes this, IT FRICKIN' WORKS. THEY HAVE SPACE HELICOPTERS AND BIPLANES. Ork sophisticated targeting system imagers increase accuracy by replacing images of enemy vehicles with images of Gretchin, ''COZ EVRY ONE'A DA BOYZ KNOWS 'OW TA HITS A GROT GOOD FROM DA MOMENT DEY SPROUTS!' If they want to make it more durable and harder to damage, they paint it green, because 'ORKZ IZ GREEN, AND DEY'S HARD TA KRUMP!' and green vehicles thus are markedly more resistant to... well... everything you can throw at them. When they want to add a stealth field to a vehicle, they just paint it purple, because 'YA NEVVA SEEZ A PURPOL ORK, NOW DOES YA?' and these vehicles usually become excellently camouflaged and difficult to spot... even if they're literally neon glowing purple. And if they do get spotted, it's because 'YA DINT USE 'NUFF PAINT, YA GROT!' and not because expecting a coat of purple paint to turn your tank invisible is insane. The Ordo Xenos Inquisitors are still looking into how the Orks got enough purple paint to get a LITERALLY WEAPONIZED MOON not only into the Solar Segmentum, not only into the Sol System, but INTO THE ORBIT OF F**KIN HOLY TERRA ITSELF without even a single goddamn person in the ENTIRE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS STRONG FLEET PATROLLING HUMANITY'S SACRED HOME SEGMENTUM, SYSTEM, AND PLANET, or the entire TRILLIONS STRONG POPULATION of Terra, noticing until they commenced the attack. You asked why it is they don't use this ability deliberately and actively? It's because they're TOO STUPID TO REALIZE THEY HAVE IT, LET ALONE UNDERSTAND HOW THEY COULD ABUSE IT. They don't even know they're bending reality, because they're too stupid to realize how reality is SUPPOSED to work. They actually think, actually believe, that things just work like this, because they have no reason not to, because around them they DO. They are incapable mentally of working out they have this ungodly broken power, and that is literally the ONE THING keeping them from being the single most dangerous beings in the universe!

Orks are a relatively light-hearted fun race amidst all the 40k factions, not by their actions (which can be brutal and horrific), but by their culture, which is basically entirely based around idiot football hooligans, whose only life goal is to have a good fight, and therefore they are the happiest people in 40k by default, because there is only war. If you do ever look at the games, I'd say Space Marine is one of the best, largely because orks are your primary antagonist for the game, and they have some amazing voice acting that is PERFECT for 40k orks, and it's very fun to do impressions of their voices :) also in regards to the ork psychic field: the orks themselves are FAR too stupid to understand this as a concept, so they can't just design to make crazy things happen intentionally, it's only when an ork truly believes something and enough orks share this belief, that their belief can come true, this has resulted in some very interesting side effects; there is a human imperial officer named Sebastian Yarrick who has fought against the orks many times, and has pulled off some ridiculous feats (including killing and ork after the ork tore his arm off, and then replaced his lost arm with the very same orks mechanical claw arm) to the point now that the entire ork race has heard of him and reveres him as a superhuman....and due to the orks latent psychic abilities, this is probably actually affecting him in ways he doesn't know, making him stronger, faster, smarter just because enough orks believe it

5:13 not all guns, but all bolters (the most common type of weapon in media), that's because it doesn't fire a kinectic projectile like modern guns do. instead it fires a "rocket" that keeps propulsionating itself forward for a time, even after the initial explosion, even after it leaves the barrel of the gun, and explode on impact. Not, crashes and splinter into lots of parts, it literally explodes, like a grenade. Still think a larger barrel could be useful for long range engagementes, but both space marines and orks have a tendency to find themselves in close quarter combat, and even melee, so the "short" barrel comes in handy. Also, keep in mind: both orks and space marines are significantly largers than humans, that gun wouldn' be so short in the hands of a human, even a boltpistol could pass as a smg in the hands of a human, it is just that they are being held by really big people

Orks spread from planet to planet because Ork 'clap if you believe' based technology becomes exponentially stronger the more orkz there are. Once a planet is absolutely overrun with orks, their meks instinctively start working on their own space program, filling rokkits full of orks and shooting them into space. some occasionally find a new planet to stomp all over, or at the very least their spores do when the rokkit hits the planet and blows to bits.

An example would be the aftermath of the third war for Armageddon where despite the Orks losses they were unable to kill them all because they live In the only forrest on Armageddon, Orks are also self sufficient being completely able to live on their own such as being on a space hulk A single ork spore survives a planetary cleansing, later that ork grows and develops into a feral Orks and when he dies he will produce tens of thousands of spores, so even if ten survives when they die they can release ten thousand spores and so on, until you have a few feral ork who by nature will follow the strongest ork despite their even lower IQ, as the population grows, Orks can live off sunlight for a time being if not indefinitely but those who do tend to be weaker, as more Orks grow and develop the weakest of the Orks are killed and then EATEN and this process will continue until they find an alternative food source since Orks will and can eat anything organic be they tyranids, Eldar, tau, humans even other Orks so food for them is plentiful, if not then the local wildlife will most certainly be on the menu, as for development as their population grows so does their strength and surprisingly even their collective intelligence, developing like humans but on a far far far faster level, feral Orks are the closest to being animalistic in nature being pure brutes using their own hands and strength to beat and kill any local wildlife, they can also develop simple wooden or stone tools such as an axe, later when their numbers increases they are able to group think and produce vehicles (in the loosest terms using massive squigoths as a form of vehicle or fortress on legs) later when technology and sufficient scrap is available such as a tank or even a car the ork intelligence increases exponentially being easily able to build crude contraction that should exist let alone function, and so when their population grows even more with more scrap they can start to build a powerful tribe where any other tribes within the area will instinctively flock to the strongest tribes banner, until their population is a few thousand then a planetary WAAAARRRGGGGG is performed which is a planetary invasion like no other until the planet is theirs then a true and proper WAAARGGGGGG can be performed with legions of starships and if the warggg is truly enormous then even the war bosses intelligence will be even able to out rival even an imperial navy officer with centuries of experience and produce truly terrifying weapons such as a KILLA MOOONNNN which is an asteroid hollowed out and is given powerful weapons powered by the ork mental physique and is even able to destroy an imperial battleship in a single shot.

The high tech stuff only works when they got enough orks because more orks = better tech. The guns are still guns not just boxes of scrap but they are poorly made and stuck together with stuff that would just break apart if anyone else shot it because of the recoil rattling them apart. It also means that ork flyers well fly when they dont obey weight limits but you can't make a box with no wings and engine fly around. Its kinda like magic duct tape you can make orky stuff work better or smooth out the cracks and keep it functioning. But it still has to have most of the parts because they can't just make all there stuff out of duct tape it just assists with the stuff working. The fugus spores just come out of orks naturally and tons of spores come out when they die and decompose. It acts like normal mushrooms just growing out of anything even leeching minerals out of rocks to make orks. The most basic snotlings when there are no resources that will prepare and set up proper fields of ork pods that orks grow in underground. Biggest weakness is infighting if the boss is killed they will just have a civil war in the tribe and the whole command gets messed till they establish a new boss. Its why orks are kinda weak when they are managed and observed. You just send a hit squad of space marine terminators to drop pod on his head kill him and get out or snipe him and the whole warband goes into civil war for the next year or how ever long it takes. When nothing works and they make a proper WAAAAGH the boss is near impossible to kill.
