great video. thank you!. can you advise whether a VCA random flow generator can be attached to the return outlet? is it compatible with genuine Loc-Line? thank you
I just wanted to see how to put the filter in, and you don't even show that. Mine doesn't seem to fit. Do you keep it in the filter holder thing or take it out? What do you do with the foam pad? It's all unclear to me.
I literally just gutted the filtration system with a razor blade, the design of it is so flawed and I’ve lost so many guppy fry and shrimp in the back of that thing. It’s held by silicone so a razor blade will too. I used a more than capable hang on the back filter and a LED lamp and it looks ten folds better than what came in the box.
I use the tetra 50w heater. It's submersible , auto turns on/off and keeps my temps at 77-78 (your room can make it higher or lower than this), and own 4x of these. I use 3x of them in my tanks and keep 1x as a backup. I have a 5 gallon, 3.7 gallon, and 10 gallon. VERY consistent readings. They go on sale at Amazon and lfs for pretty cheap around $10 . They are VERY RELIABLE to me. None have failed and never had an issue and my tanks been running up to 1-1/2 years. It's always good to have a back up. I converted this tank to a saltwater tank and is pretty sustainable. Use to be on my TV cabinet and currently sits on the floor, but will make an update soon.
@@pandanese90 did you put the heater in the filter compartment? i saw someone else do it in a video but then i saw thats its not reccomended by manufactureer and just deciding what i should do!
i would use the tank without the bottom stand and just set it on a mat instead also i would remove the built in filter box its easy to do just cut through the silicone on both sides and i would buy a nano hang on the back clear filter to use instead and you can get a nice led light from ebay to go on it :) im getting this soon and thats what im going to do with mine :)
The false back gives the display side about 2.5 - 3 gallons of limited use, for a temporary holding tank that works for a betta. Remove the false back and you get the 5 gallons marineland advertised on the box.
