Not to mention that Mario and peach both have blue eyes and peach originally has a red belt to match his red clothing. Also, Daisy has green gems on her clothes and jewelry to match Luigi, and Luigi has gold buttons to match Daisy's golden dress.
People are roasting this for looking too much into things, but at the end of the day, character designs that perfectly reflect the character's personality, and in this case for the relationship, are a good sign of great character designs, especially when it's subtle.
Well with the movie, there is a possibility that they might go beyond implying. I mean, in the movie Donkey Kong recognized Mario's conversation with Peach is him flirting with her, plus Toad was totally for Peach and Mario getting together. Also Bowser explicitly sees Mario as a rival for her affections.

I remember a short comic where Luigi rests his chin atop Daisy's head in a way that made Daisy's hair look like a really big mustache. He even played with her hair in a way that the plumbers are seen playing with their mustaches.

We will also see that they each have two eyes, complimenting each other’s two eyes. This makes a total of 4 eyes, which pair well with the 4 ears they have between each other. (Excluding Mario’s 5th ear hidden in his polygons in 64)

I do find it funny how Luigi and Daisy’s relationship is much more out-in-the-open, as depicted in Mario Kart’s Daisy Circuit statues. I hope Illumination takes notes and pairs Mario and Peach up, since it’d make for a great sequel to their already great movie.
I feel like she was more just fed up with Mario and Bowser thrusting it onto her so suddenly, and she was just overwhelmed. Not a complete rejection, more of an "ask me later when i'm not as stressed"
I absolutely love everything about this, I always noticed Daisy and Luigi's looks connection, but I never noticed Mario's and Peach's, It's actually really adorable, such detail.^^
I knew about the girls having the same number of eyelashes in comparison to the number of mustache bumps the bros have, but I never knew about the princesses' bangs representing that too! That's such an adorable detail!
