I don't think I've ever seen those Cave Story falling blocks actually used in a ROMhack until now, since they were made about 10 years ago... The same hacker Sonikku, also ported the majority of Cave Story's monsters to Super Mario World.

That level that you can shoot platforms in is a mix of the cloud (or bubble) flower and the fire flower
