Mario Kart 64 150cc All Cups (Skips) Shortcut Speedrun  

I’m not a Mario Kart 64 speedrunning expert, but it seems like this might be the last “sub X minutes” milestone, maybe forever. I just don’t see how you save 59 seconds off of this run, unless other major skips are discovered. Even then, it’d be very hard to save that much time. EDIT: I guess the “best possible time” of 21:14 as shown at the start of the video kinda proves me wrong. Pretty wild to think that even without new tech, there’s still 1:45 that could come off of this run!

Unless new strats come out, this is gonna be a hard wr to beat, abney basically got one of the best rng ever, and the only mistakes that we're major was the lightning striked that hit him and the banana he slipped on in banshee, everything else was just depended on rng/shroom usage

​​@@isuck6049I mean there was probably at least 20 seconds worth of improvement if given that RNG though tbf. (Had blue shell on royal raceway, probably about 10 seconds worth of save on banshee, bowsers castle, and warios stadium). Somewhat slow Luigi's raceway among other things. The run is definitely beatable, but you only get that level of RNG maybe 1%.

Its close unless kazuya uses weathertenko plus yolo valley, not to mention abney is probably gonna have a harder time beating this if he we're to attempt the 2 strats considering he's trying to play the game at mirror mode and gonna get the wr there too

He actually got the flower cup wr although it's not sub 4 mins though, and now he's tryna get the extra mode/mirror mode 100cc all cups wr too Edit: it's actually 100cc not 150cc

And he fucking got the mirror mode record after only 9 days wtf

Shortcut in bowsers castle would be huge also

Theres a huge time save in yoshi's valley

This is still beatable without Yolo Valley; but it might be at a point where Yolo Valley is the *most likely* way it's beaten. Which is pretty crazy. Incredible record to watch live.

I mean, there already is a skip not being used in any completed runs yet with the Weathertenko. The fact that Abney’s been going for Weathertenkos if he gets a mushroom in Choco Mountain means that any one of these runs he could basically kill the entire category. If he hits one in a run with solid rng then that’s going to set the benchmark so high if it becomes compulsory to hit one to beat the record.

@@anthonyjames1484 remember what darbian said, there's no such things as a dead run, there's some tracks in 150cc that could have sc's but people haven't found them yet, such as if there was one in moomoo farm or bowsers castle, I don't think the category will be dead anytime soon
