As someone who's lived in Florida their entire life, I can confirm that this is accurate about 50% of the time. The other 50% is unbearable constant humidity.

Just putting this out there since Jay talked about rivals: King Boo actually has no rivals. They are randomized for him. They are still there, but they are randomized. He is very unique in that way.

@@HungryWarden basically in every Mario kart game has the rival system, where mostly every character has a rival (some has multiple, others have one). Where if you play against CPUs, your characte’s rival will have an advantage against you. Every game is slightly different in how, but the most frequent is “rubber banding”, which basically gives the rival high amounts of speed, usually higher then normally possible. As well as higher chance to get good items. It’s to make every race feel intense as if someone is gonna appear out of nowhere and take first place when you get hit by something.
