@@hescoming4544 Mario Kart DS takes about 32MB whilst the largest DS game is Pokemon BW2 with a size of 512MB so there was definitely no problem with storage. It's just that games devs don't like to put stuff like this into the final game because 1. They were never even meant to be in the final game 2. It would look unprofessional even though it would be fun.
@@uniqhnd23 512MB is more than many PS1 games which begs the question: why do so few DS games use streamed audio? The only DS game I know that does is Sonic Colours. Edit: Meteos might also use streamed music but I can't really tell
"Test Circle" is an amazing course and should've made it into the final game! It's just got so much variety in the track design! It looks really fun. C'mon Nintendo! We need Test Circle in Mario Kart 9!
For people that dont know, Nokonoko Course was originally named Nokonoko Beach, it was a beta stage and most likely would be in the final version, however, it was scrapped during the build and was most likely replaced by Cheep Cheep Beach (how Cheep). However, you can play Nokonoko Beach in Mario Kart Wii CTGP-R (which means modding your wii), although it wasnt in the final version of Mario Kart DS.
@TyGuy oh, oh sorry. Your opinion matters to everyone? Oh, damn, I didn’t know. Next time I’ll @ you every time a joke is made so you can say if it’s funny since you matter so much.
The beta version of Waluigi's Pinball seems more challenging...I'd have liked it. I mean other commenters said the same but it'd be interesting to have it as DLC in a future game, maybe in a "lost levels" kind of pack.
honestly, i always felt waluigi pinball was overhyped because there's not much to it in terms of an actual course, even if the aesthetic and music of it are really cool if it had the bumpers and stuff throughout it like here i would enjoy it so much more
dokan course is now a REAL track that just got announced for mario kart tour wtf lmaaooo ((the pipe theming)) By the way did you know 3DS toad circuit uses dokan course's layout but mirrored
i find it intresting how many people like the beta music in this video. does any one want a 320kbps mp3 download? im also genuinely surprised how many views this video got i wasnt expecting that since these courses have been posted before in video
Wow, watching this is so nostalgic to me especially since my early years mostly consisted of watching compilations MKDS beta courses. I remember all of these tracks quite vividly from when I was young and that bloody catchy beta tune these tracks use always brings back good memories. This is what it is like to be a mid 2000's kid.
It was cool but it wasn't blow your mind cool. All DS games of the time were of similar quality and we'd been used to GBA games that were often 3d or isometric before this
cause i wanted to show quality and higher res vs fps. if i posted this video today i could have done 60fps at 4k 2k and 1080p. at the time youtube 60fps was still new and it has a quality degrading issue when posted at 60fps.
davidevgen well, that makes sense considering that RU-vid was very unoptimized for full 1080p60fps before. If you uploaded something similar now that the issue is gone it would be cool hehe
also, can someone PLEASE tell me how to record DS games in Widescreen like this?! I have no idea how to do it, otherwise I'd cover DS games as well as other Nintendo content!

MikeyTaylorGaming you will need this to record in widescreen widescreen mode 1.1 12147e04 00003D30 this to disable hud invividual HUD modifier (laps item place) 220bc244 00000000 220ba6b8 00000000 220b9e24 00000000 and to record in hd a modified version of x432r desumue. unfortunately that hasnt been released cause of bugs , it was made by mkdasher. you can use the regular x432r and use an external hd capture card or fraps. but your computer has to be very strong to do it.
davidevgen Oh my! I didn't realise that Widescreen was modified by a code! Hahaha That's impressive. I had seen a post about High resolution DS Emulation requiring one hell of a lot of power, I've only got a 4460 i5 Intel Processor... If it's processor based then I don't think it'll be able to handle it! Thanks for the info dude.
MikeyTaylorGaming thank you :P i made the code awile back. and to give you an idea im using a gtx 680 and 4930k i7 6 core cpu. and even over clocking the cpu it still wont run at full speed at x4 resolution unless you use open gl which is still graphically glitchy
DLC Dude Not to mention how the beta item sprites in the beta of Waluigi Pinball look way better than they do in the final game. And the Double Dash sound effects too, I preferred those over the remade ones that have been in the series ever since.
this was a well made video. everything from the full hd/widescreen fix to the amount of time spent showing off everything in each course. this has so much production value that I felt very satisfied just watching it.
Wow, it feels so strange seeing these. I get an uneasy feeling when I see the beta versions of Pipe Plaza and Nintendo DS with that music. Maybe it’s the skies Anyway, List of courses: 0:00 Dokan Course (Scrapped track) 0:39 Nokonoko Course (Presumably an early version of Cheep Cheep Beach, here themed around Koopa Troopa judging by the name) 1:17 Donkey Course (Very early version of DK Pass) 2:07 Test Circle Course (Test course, not much more to say) 2:34 Test1 Course (Test for collision) 3:43 Luigi Course (Very early version of Waluigi Pinball) 4:46 Pinball Course (Beta version of Waluigi Pinball) 5:40 Old Mario GC Course (Scrapped remake of GCN Mario Circuit) 6:19 Mr Stage1 (Test for Big Bully and Chief Chilly's boss stages) 7:00 Mini Block Course (Scrapped remake of GCN Block City) 7:52 Mini Dokan GC Course (Beta version of GCN Pipe Plaza) 8:28 Mini Stage1 Course (Beta version of Nintendo DS)
In case y’all are wondering, here’s what the beta courses are supposed to represent and time stamps: Beta Course 1: Probably a random course that never made it in 0:00 Beta Course 2: Beta Cheep Cheep Beach 0:39 Beta Course 3: Beta DK Pass 1:18 Beta Course 4: A circle, GENIUS!! 2:10 Beta Course 5: Rainbow Road but wtf’d 2:33 Beta Course 6: Earlier Beta of Waluigi Pinball 3:43 Beta Course 7: Later Beta of Waluigi Pinball 4:46 Beta Course 8: I’m not saying what it is 5:40 Beta Course 9: Most likely a test battle course 6:18 Beta Course 10: Scrapped early version of Block Plaza for Wii 7:00 Beta Course 11: Beta Pipe Plaza 7:52 Beta Course 12: Beta DS Battle Course 8:28 My favorite? Probably the 2nd beta for Waluigi Pinball, looks way more fun and lively than the one we got.
Actually it's dokan course(a large buggy track with pipes) nokonoko course(a koopa beach track), donkey course( early version of dk pass, test circle(a course for collision testing), test 1 course(a course that was for testing collision that had boost pads bowser's castle moving floor as black and white(if not added back in course can't be loaded) but was changed to an early version of rainbow road), luigi course( a very early version of waluigi pinball), pinball course beta(beta version of waluigi pinball), gcn mario circuit(mario circuit from double dash that wasnt finished),Mr stage 1(a mission from the demo where you fight big bully however in the demo he wasn't programed yet making the mission impossible to complete
The first course was probably piranha plant themed, as the elasto piranha plant in japanese is Dokan Pakkun. The second course is a Koopa beach one, as nokonoko is koopa troops in japanese. The third one is a DK mountain course as it literally is called donkey course. The circle course, well...the fifth one is an early stage of rainbow road. The sixth one is probably a prototype waluigi pinball. The seventh is definitley so. The eighth is mkdd mario circuit. The ninth is a test battle stage probably. The 10th is also a battle stage. If it was actually used in some form on the full game. The 11th and 12th are prototype battle stages.
7:53 i remember this course from way back in the days. On the way home after school, I used to walk past this store that sells school supplies and it had a little arcade machine with Mario Kart (i dont remember the exact name of the game) on it and you could have a go for 5US cents (conversion made using rates from back then) per life. Man, those were the good old days.
It might be MKGP, but another possibility could be that it was one of those little kiosks that used to have Gamecube games, and in this instance MK Double Dash!!. I only infer this because the timestamp is GCN Pipe Plaza, meaning that they might've played Pipe Plaza on the old GC kiosks. You could also find N64 kiosks too
why is the beta waluigi pinball so much better than the final one lmao, actual obstacles on the track, a shortcut, this would be so much better and people would probably like it more and have a reason for it to be so popular
Considering that Luigi minigames in Mario 64DS and New Super Mario Bros were gambling related, I'm not surprised Waluigi Pinball was originally Luigi Pinball.
1 month afterwards, I discover your comment. The Wii U version is being done through emulation and it's not, I repeat it's *not* a port of the original game to suit new hardware. Perhaps you are the moron here, calling people out this easily.
Fun Fact: If you have a 482 in 1 game thing, you can find Mario Kart DS. Go to the cheat menu on it and you can play as Shy Guy in Singleplayer, and you can play unused courses! I think most have no textures, sadly.
