Yeah, I think it's just a weird choice to have Mario racing in such a realistic scene, doesn't mix well with Mario's design IMO They should hire a real plumber to stand in for Mario like in those really awesome Mario Movies back in the day, then it would be perfect.
@@hanyanama9308thats real fast, you never watch a Formula 1 or Nascar? When they go on 80 miles per hour and from the aur cam looks slow, theres something called perspective
you probably could but it's unlikely the software could keep track of all the stuff at higher speeds. Unless you only want to use it in explore mode. I would be happy to upgrade it with bigger tires and a stronger motor to go up slopes more easily. Maybe increase battery life.
People: these graphics suck Nintendo: get a better house (Side note: this isn't my own joke. Just promoting the original. Don't get bent out of shape so easily)
It’s because it’s a small kart and it’s close to the ground... similar to movies with little people and how it looks intense and then the camera zooms out to human size and nothing is happening.
I think it’s awesome. You forget it’s your house for a bit with the sound and all that. My house is not big enough for that. I like that it actually does move when you get a mushroom.
The camera panning with the kart also makes it look slower than it's actually going. Same effect when you want a camera pan over an f1 car going 200 mph. It looks like its driving 10 mph in a parking lot. It's all perspective
The real proof would be to analyze the speed of the engine versus the speed of the kart to determine if there are any consistent ratio between them at all. (...any nerds up for the challenge?)
Other developers: we have created millions of polygons and a new lighting engine for the most realistic graphics Nintendo: imma end this companies whole career
This is the best video I've seen on the subject. Hearing the engine without music or commentary is heavenly and course itself is nicely put together. I feel like I'm actually there. Bravo! I even noticed the speedometer actually moves too. Nintendo always with the details. And I'm sure the fuel gauge is the battery life of the kart.
i dont know what witchcraft nintendo did to make that slow ass kart look like its hauling ass like theres no tomorrow, and the engine sounds wicked too lol
It's just a matter of perspective. You'd get the same result if you put a gopro on any other RC car. Fast things seem faster and big things seem bigger because of the thing's scale relative to yours.
1:16 damn you carpet lol didn't expect that bump to be noted. If they ever have a sale I may think of buying, just wish they had peach or captain falcon or something lol
@@Kohiku yes I enjoy team sonic racing. Sonic would've been great too, same with cap. Sadly this sold out and it's overcharged for like $170 so I went with Lego Mario instead.
irl vs virtual 50cc irl: too slow... virtual: slow put almost normal speed 100cc irl: slow speed virtual: normal speed 150cc irl: almost fast speed virtual: fast speed! 200cc irl: fast! virtual.... *VERY FAST*
When I first saw this on the Nintendo direct the first thought that popped into my head was “Mario Kart maker?!” I bet some really cool tracks are going to be made with this
@@harryfokker He runs this circuit in ~32 seconds on 50 cc and ~15 seconds on 200cc. The perspective might also be altered but the car is definitely moving faster too.
if you were shrinked to the size of Mario and driving the kart, you would tell that exact speed is quite fast (nintendo got the visual right from 'small creature' perspective). The physical car that you see from your current POV seems slower than the visual mainly because the scale and different PoV. You can walk 1ft (30cm) effortlessly because you're at least 5.5ft in height (170cm), but imagine you're mario-tall, it need more time to finish 1ft walking.
200cc with shroom is probably still only 75% of how fast the car can go. everything else is just using less and less of the available speed it can do. it's less supercharger and more like just not giving it enough fuel to begin with.
I really like the concept of these karts. It would be cool if they had more features though. If you could race more than 2 cars and they would all show up on the mini map.
Nobody comments how Mario has stolen the unlimited gears shifting transmission from Burnout Paradise? I'm sure I heard Mario change gears like 13 times in 200cc!
i get the car probably doesn't goes as fast on real life, but is it optimized to not break if it crashes into the wall? specially on 200cc, which considering it's a game that a lot of kids play, it's highly probable they'll keep crashing the car into their furniture or stuff through a big part of their gaming sessions
They're not even Go Karts. They're just full sized One Seater Sports/Race Cars with built in Camera instead of small go karts. Also explain s the Shift toh cuz its really cool.
I would love to see a downhill course where you race down a steep hill like Wario summit. Will just have to chase yiod later to keep the connection but would love to see the speed on the camera
So its like a watered down version of rc cars, if i was 8 i would have been all about this and also dissapointed that it couldnt go offroad or any faster
