To reasure some people, Xrays are really not dangerous, for example you would need to do like 200 full body scans in one go to start to see long term effects. It's even safe for pregnant women but doctors still limit them because of the principle of precaution if we discover in the future that there are some side effects (highly unlikely). The only procedure using rays that has been proven to increase cancer risk is the kind that we use to kill already existing cancers, so no worries folks we know what we are doing out here !

The reason why doctors go behind a barrier is because of what you said. I heard it described as If a Bartender had 1 drink with a customer, they'd be fine. But if they have a drink with every customer, they might die. Or just be really hung over.

fun fact: that's because it's their job. the x-rays build up, like the ending of the video. if you get one or two x-rays it won't do much, but a person who is exposed to it a lot of times has to hide behind a wall.

For real though, doctors xraying or ct scanning you too much can harm you. I had that happen to me and then another doctor said I had too many in a short amount of time and to not get any for a long time.
