Idk why it's so identifiable as the sound of a smile, though. Maybe someone out there has a better answer. It's plain to see (or hear) in quite a few songs after all, about 1:40 into 'Knikkerbakker' by No More Kings as an example off the top of my head.

I'm not even looking for a girlfriend but I keep playing this song on repeat, it's a good song no doubt about that, but what keeps me replaying this song again and again, is how the singer conveys the genuine feeling of joy and hope of seeing someone you really like look your way for once. She sounds happy when singing and I think that's really what pushes the quality of this song even further beyond.

I slowly started to listen to The Chalkeaters, started with "Count to More-than-2-less-than-4" when it came out and moved back down the line and this primordial gem easily became my favorite song from yous (I do admit, I am partial to pop-punk). Every time I watch this video I can't help but think that the voice they use for Bowsette sounds like it matches the picture perfectly. There are times where you don't really think that a certain voice matches a character... but this one... very well done, whenever I try to imagine this character this voice just sounds perfect for her.
