I personally think Luigi's arc in the movie Will be to become his own person and stand up for what he want. In the film, he'll start out as a timid person who just walks along with his brother's shenanigans whether or not it suits him with Luigi trying to avoid confrontations by either running away or hiding behind his brother, but as the film will go, Luigi will develop a spine. He won't be afraid for any longer and will start take things like how he feels, what he's doing and why he's doing those stuff into his own hands.
Not in the romantic sense (obviously), but more akin to a bond falls apart moment like with the two wreck it Ralph films where Ralph wrecks vanellope's car or when Ralph reveals to vanellope he was the one who sent the virus into the racing video game on the internet, or when Alberto reveals himself as a monster but Luca still acts like a human, or the whole fight between Mirabel and alma in encanto or mei turning away from her friends and doesn't defend them in front of her mother@@kevdel761.

That fails, since his hammer not only fixes the bar, but also makes it stronger. Felix then asks himself "why do I fix everything I Touch?!" Or something... I didn't watch the english dub. And since people compared Mario from the new movie to Felix, I thought that was what they were going for here, judging by the thumbnail.
@@alexaalexa2308 Let’s be honest, mario’s high pitched voice actually talking would sound cursed because we’re only used to the short sound effects. Also, if Chris Pratt tried to do an Italian accent the same people complaining about his voice NOW would become hypocritical and say “NO DONT MAKE HIM DO AN ITALIAN ACCENT”, so it’s either deal with it (which might be easier said than done) or complain (which causes unnecessary drama)
At this point in the film, Mario and Luigi had tried to rescue Princess Peach, but this ended badly. Bowser said he would let them go if they swore allegiance to him. Mario refused, but Luigi, being sick of tired of always being treated like player 2, joins Bowser and seemingly betrays Mario, who is dragged off to the dungeon. In his cell, he sees Toad outside, but when he calls out to him, he's ignored, having lost faith in Mario. At his limit, Mario sits down, with only a single question for God. Why?
This just in, Mario movie 2 confirmed with a few key cast member changes. George Miller as Mario, he’s so cool. Max Stanley as Peach, he’s so pretty. Ian Carter as Luigi, he’s so funny. With Chad Roberts as donkey kong, he’s so fat, Micheal Stevens as toad, and so many more exciting cast members to be announced.
