This was a fun one! Despite being longer than my previous Mario Paint video, this one was actually a bit quicker and simpler to make, due to being able to reuse a lot of the notes. I'm discovering even more super-useful features with the new Super Mario Paint edition - here I made frequent use of the filter, select, and copy-paste note features.
If you haven't heard of or tried out Celeste, I highly recommend it - it's definitely the most exciting new platformer I've played in the last decade or so. The soundtrack, graphics, and overall vibe are superb. And if you love a challenge... boy, does this game have great difficulty in spades. But amazingly, it nearly all seems fair and unpunishing, so even novices can work their way toward greatness.
Here's the tune from the first main area in the game, which lays all the soundtrack's cards on the table: lush piano (which Mario Paint isn't necessarily great at, but the boo worked OK here) and synths that both sparkle and wash over you like waves. The new moon synth was useful here, as was the feather flute (I hope it isn't too ear-piercing at times when it goes high). There's at least one other absolute favorite song of mine from this game that I'd like to make some time, possibly more, we'll see. Until then, hope you enjoy!
