Mario Party 3 is a well designed game 

If people thought Brent was a tryhard, it's because they never saw the strategies he goes for when he doesn't need to worry about losing his friendships

The most important thing I got out of this video is that Eeve, Vernias and Nick play way worse than CPUs because to make Brent lose his mind its an achievement.

That chilly waters game felt like a raid boss but without the handicap: Yoshi got blessed by rng and flexed while he was at it Peach made sure to be the richest so you can't get the coin star while keeping you poor. Mario was secretly the biggest nuisance, he strategically stayed in the ice to prevent you from moving freely. It was a strategic 3v1 all this time.

28:50 For those who don't know, Boo in Duel Mode is probably one of the best partners. Whenever it gets attacked, it counters back to its attacker with the same amount of force.

8:33 I think the reason why there's no duel is because the spaces disappear during the event "cutscene" so the game doesn't register it as 2 people landing on the same space. While in spiny desert, the spaces stay during the happening "cutscene" so a duel is triggered.

I think that it’s safe to say that Luigi is the true protagonist of Story Mode in Mario Party 3. He replaces one of the other five characters if they’re the one being used. Plus his love interest and arch rival are the two main antagonists of the main story plot. It definitely helped him make his first few steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight and fleshed him out a lot.

BRENT YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I played through it once and got majority S rank, but not all. I went back, saw very hard cpus, and said “ima get all s ranks with very hard” in which it took me **5 hours** of attempts just to get that on Chilly waters. Yoshi got a turn one hidden block star 3 times in a row at one point. Love this game but Jesus Christ it’s so unfair sometimes.

I remember when Scott the Woz got a hidden block star on turn 1 in his Mario Party 2 video.

Boo's duel special ability is Counter Attack. No matter how much damage is dealt to Boo, he will deal his attack damage back to the attacker, and as you saw, overflow goes onto the partner. He's a VERY good partner, if a bit on the weak side for stats.

Now Brent knows what the others feel like when they play with him and Brent gets super lucky lol.

One thing I really enjoyed about this story mode was that it feels tailored to Luigi in regards to how the character stamps are distributed. Since if you play as any other character, he's present in their place. Which could be seen as him qualifying for *every* stamp.

The ragecomic noise at the fishing minigame brought a smile to my face.

Yeah, Mario Party 3 is not only my favorite, but I liked the duel mode you get in this game but something to note for people is that the Reverse Mushroom can break boards if you use it right I mean its only 5 coins and you can do a lot with that item.

The Mario party 8 story mode is really fun ngl, and the final battle against bowser is really unique 😮 would be a cool idea

Watching the party crashers play MP3 had me revisit the story mode myself not that long ago. I lost the first duel on the last turn due to my opponent getting a full heal. I havent touched the game since. Im 5 minutes in and getting PTSD

Game 1: pure chaos Game 2: chaos but to the surprise of nobody moment Duel: A narrow s-rank win by Boo and Bob-omb. Still chaos though For the future if Boo gets directly attacked (meaning front to back or back to front) he retaliates back at the person attacking him with the same a amount of damage dealt to Boo. The only ones who don't feel the blow is Mr. Blizzard ( cause he attacks front to front and back to back) and Chain Chomp (if boo isn't directly taking thr attack)

So we all know that King of Skill is overwhelmingly good at Mario Party. The thing that this video proves is that no matter how good you are, Mario Party CPUs have that unreasonable RNG stat and are brutally effcient at working together to screw the player over. As someone who's played the MP3 story recently, the game is rough. I feel validated that even the Almighty King of Mario Party himself is struggling.

The Gate Guy match clutch! I had the funniest interaction the last time I did Story Mode on that map. Wario moved into me and got 2x Bowser with the 2x attack and I had Boo. Jr. transformed into Bowser and OHKO'd me. Boo then counterattacked and killed Wario. The result was that I won off of coins. Wario kamikaze'd me to force the C rank. I laughed so hard XD

As someone who did the story mode of Mario Party 4; yes, the Story Modes in Mario Party games are easily one of the most frustrating endurance matches of all time. Because of the absolute RNG nightmare the games are; It's not so bad with the right group of friends who enjoy trash talking and having fun. When it comes to the AI though, at times; it honestly feels like the AI just absolutely cheats to win. Their reaction speeds some of the time are downright questionable; and a lot of the time their luck feels deliberate like they can see the Hidden Blocks on the board. Also, keep in mind that the Reverse Mushroom is one of the most broken items in the game. It takes priority over board gimmicks; and often times can just outright bypass and select any path you want. It also allows you to double hit spaces like Boo; it's power is kinda absurd. As for the Duel Boards, which were honestly my favorite part of the game; I spent a lot of time messing around with it, because it's fun. Some of the partners have a few quirks. Toad makes it so you don't have to pay your opponent when you land on his spaces. Koopa Kid usually does nothing; but on a rare chance he'll turn into Bowser and score a devastating blow. Boo will counter attack anyone who hits him (even if he gets KO'd). Thwomp can insta-KO partners but can't attack your opponent. Whomp cannot attack; but defensive wise, he is super hard to defeat. Bomb Omb is a Kamikaze; but he ignores defensive partners and always attacks the opponent. Honestly, there is a lot of creative design in the way it works, and it's a ton of fun.

I remember playing Creepy Cavern for the first time in story mode and I want to put the CPUs weren’t on the hardest difficulty, and the first CPU who went: Yoshi immediately got a star from a hidden block on Turn goddamn 1. That snowball proceeded to make one of the most traumatizing games of Mario Party that I somehow won

Watching this video reminded me of a string of unfortunate events that occurred to me in Mario Party DS's Story Mode (I can't remember the specific order these events played out). I was on DK's Stone Statue, and things were going horribly. I lost my star to a hidden block two turns after I got it. Later in the game, I got flattened by a giant barrel not once, not twice, but three times in one turn. Needless to say, i lost that round and had to try again.

Even when you're playing with computer players, it still feels like you're playing with the usual cohorts. We got the CPU that cannot beat the lucky allegations. We got the CPU that makes really awkward choices and/or throws mini-games. And then we got the CPU that tries its best to play normally, but ends up pissing everyone off. I'm sure we can figure out who is who.

Man doesn't study for an exam when this is the exam. Like I love how instead of watching the COMs as a challenging opponent is like watching a horse without a rider.

Basically Boo in Duel Mode works like this, if he is attacked that would knock him out, Boo will counterattack the attacking partner and deals the same damage that Boo had just taken though if it loses to Thwomp, the counterattack will not happen. Though the Story Mode here since you are playing as Luigi as if you are playing as anyone else, Luigi will take the spot of the character that the player is being since for example if Wario is being used by the player then Luigi takes his place as the Duel Map opponent.

And here's the reason why Brent is so good at these games. Thats the kind of suffering i expected from a Mario Party title while playing alone against CPUs. No wonder he developed a huge amount of skills in minigames and goes for the most optimal tactics while going around the board, its because of the CPUs. Those mfs make you try hard to barely win...

I like the steady pace of the videos showing each mario party and its gimmicks, cant wait for Mario Party 4 tbh, that was my first one and i played it a TON
