But you know, the A.I could use a Chain Chomp if they had enough coins, you know. You would have to steal stars from each other in some way and at some point during each turn. Pyramid Park is about stealing stars. There is no way that I could let this happen...! Well, to my thought at least.
Random Trainer X. Plus he’s the only character (or subset of characters) who’s special orb we didn’t get to see yet. This leads me to believe that Wario, Toadette, and Birdo won’t get any screen time on the boards due to their special orbs being the same as what Jon, Emile, and Tim are playing as respectively.
According to these Mushroomglyphics, Pyramid Park was inhabited by a familar species of overall wearing gentlemen with pschents known as Paisanos. They ate spaghetti and liked to punch the lower class of their civilization known as Wahsidents who liked to give eggs off of the arena in which they teamed up with said Wahsidents.
"Here's your map. That's all I need to know. Goodnight everybody." The third thing the Sphinx can do is half Chain Chomp prices. I actually REALLY like Pyramid Park
Oh KGrove94? Your picture shows footage from the Disney movie "The Lion King-1994". That is the character Rafiki the baboon (or is he a mandrill?). But still, that is where the character is from. If I saw you in reality, I would see you as Rafiki from the Disney movie "The Lion King".
This is one of my favourite boards actually. I think the chomps add a layer of strategy while still retaining the glorious randomness that the series is known for. I understand that the latter point is why youse dont like it but you know different strokes for different folks
Wow, they already got - 2 Bowser spaces - 1 DK space - The main gimmicky happening space - Funny crap dice rolls This was a great start. Looking forward to the rest of the game!
I love how when they hate something, Tim usually wins it. Wario's Battle Canyon, Mario Party 3 (not the game, but the project itself), Rainbow Dream, Castaway Bay, and Snowflake Lake. Will Tim win another hated board/project?
A fitting AI Choice. At first I thought you choosed Daisy, since Sarasaland is a Desert Kingdom. But Dry Bones is the best Choice. And seriously, Emile? You didn't do your "showing the Board Events" Thing?
3:18 Bowser Sphinx can either switch red and blue spaces, swap coins equally, or chain chomp prices are halved for unknown amount of turns. You can trust me, I no lifed this game. The special orb for this stage is the bone orb. It protects you from chain chomps but you have to activate it and not waste it. 10:57 I will say it now, I hated Treasure Dome, it's only by chance that you get the right key for the right chest fast enough. It's speed based and luck based. 16:45 I shall be honest, I never seen communism from Bowser Sphinx before until now.
There's also a "Last 4 Turns" event. And it's specific to only Pyramid Park. It's "Chain Chomp Present". In this new rule, the price of Chain Chomps are halved. The "Star Present" (specific to only Grand Canal and Bowser's Enchanted Inferno) means the star price on the Star Space is halved. Every player can get stars for a discounted rate of 10 coins. The other rules are Coin Triple, Red Spaces/Bowser Spaces, 10 Koopa Kid Spaces, and receiving 40 coins. The event "Red Spaces/Bowser Spaces" can't occur on Grand Canal and Bowser's Enchanted Inferno (due to the latter Bowser's board having no Bowser Spaces). "Coin Multiplier" means that Blue and Red Spaces are triple coins (so player's get or lose 9 coins). It functions like the old rule from the first 4 installments in the Mario Party series (where Blue and Red Spaces were double coins; 6 coins). The other 3 rules can occur on all boards.
I can tell you, one really fun way to play this board is to play a longer game and give everyone handicap stars. It injects more stars into the game, so the numbers will be much higher and both AI and players will be far more willing to take ridiculous chances. My sister and I tried this. We played an 8-Player cruise against each other(we played both members of our teams) and it was a _ridiculous_ game. I was in last for the majority of the game(before swiping second place in the last few turns( and it was still one of the most entertaining experiences I've ever had on Pyramid Park.
I really love the attention to detail you guys did. Dry bones, as the opponent, in the desert board. As Egoraptor would say- ‘ fucking......GENIUS!!!!!’
Bowser's Board in Mario Party 8 works similar to this one, the difference is that stealing Stars is Candy (item based) you have the Bowser Candy which allows you to hit two blocks and steal 2 Stars from any opponent you pass and there is the Bullet Candy which lets you move three blocks but only steal 1 Star, everyone starts with 10. Its awesome because you get to dress up as Bowser and crush your foes. There is also a funny Green Space where Bowser tries to run you over.
Listen to this and compare it to the Egyptian level theme from Ms Pac-Man Maze Madness. For some reason, they decided to use rock music with electric guitars instead of the traditional music you’d normally hear in an Ancient Egyptian themed level in other games
But since each team begins with 10 stars on Tag Teams here on Pyramid Park, if both teams have a handicap of the highest number of stars (9), then they would start with 19 stars. There'd already be 10 stars. And so, if I multiply 19 x 2, that is 38. So that makes 38 stars altogether. But handicaps or no handicaps, this board had no stars. So the way to get stars on this board (Pyramid Park) is that you start with 5 stars and use Chain Chomps (via the Chain Chomp dog houses) to steal stars from your opponents. Still, even though there are no stars on this board, it is possible to get a star from Donkey Kong (via the DK Space) by winning a single player DK minigame. But this is the only way that new stars can be added. (Note: In the case of a DK Space, new stars can be added OR in the case of a Bowser Space, new stars can be taken away.) You talk about the highest star handicap. Right? Since each player has five stars, and everyone had a handicap of 9, each player would get 14. So that total number of stars would be a total of 56. But like I just mentioned earlier on this comment, "Handicaps or no handicaps, you start with 5 stars. And you are stealing stars from opponents rather than trading coins for them". The way to steal stars from opponents is Chain Chomps. And this is like Snowflake Lake (from Mario Party 6). In Mario Party 8, Bowser's Warped Orbit (which is Bowser's board), that board is like those 2 boards (Snowflake Lake from Mario Party 6 and Pyramid Park from Mario Party 7). Except you use candy instead of Chain Chomps to steal stars. You have to use 2 kinds of candy; Bullet Candy and Bowser Candy. And both of these 2 candies are only hidden in this board (Bowser's Warped Orbit). Bullet Candy steals 1 star but uses 3 Dice Blocks. Bowser Candy steals 2 stars but used 2 Dice Blocks.
Pikachu2Ash You saying that makes realize how weird it’s going to be to watch the playable Goomba get flattened in Super Mario Party but then pop up just fine instead of poofing out of existence.
Here's the Updated Tally: 1st. Proton Jon: 1(Grand Canal) 1st. Chuggaaconroy: 1(Pagoda Peak) 2nd. Nintendo Capri Sun: 0 2nd. AI/CPU/COM: 0[Grand Canal: Mario; Pagoda Peak: Peach; Pyramid Park: Dry Bones] Seriously; I Don't care who wins from here on out; Everyone here has their Favorites, and It's not fair for anyone of us(INCLUDING ME) to bash whomever ends up winning; We all have our own preferences, and I Don't want to force my opinions onto anyone else!! So Why don't we ALL try to get along and Just Enjoy the Rollarcoaster ride that is Mario Party?! I no longer wanna make any more toxic comments.
No matter what i'm always Team Tim. Love those other two knuckleheads as well. Emile needed to break the lack of wins, Jon wants the Gamecube sweep, and Tim's just having a good time. I just love Tim, so carefree. So gentle.
ok. this boards unique Bowser Time events: Bowser will send a twister destroying the bridges and orb shops for three turns. (funny enough if he set up his own shop and it is still there when the twister comes his own shop will be destroyed) Bowser will steal a star from 1st place and send Koopa Kid out into the board. i don't believe he moves at all. he himself is not a space so it wont count towards your roll.
There's a lot of cleverly placed midrolls in these Mario Party 7 videos. More often then not, when an ad pops up on one of them it's either at the start of a minigame or at the end of one.
Dude 7 was like the best one .8 was kinda the same but with a less appealing theme and minigames .i remember just thinking it was good but i play 7 alot
I'm honestly so happy they're finally on MP7, this is the Mario party I played every day when I was younger. I still have it and play it every now and then because it's that good 😁 I've been waiting for this Mario party since they played 5, and I'm not disappointed.
When Tim says “you wanted to”, the way he says it is a reference to Chop Suey by System of a Down. He then says “why’d you leave the keys upon the table” which is an iconic line from that song.
I REALLY LIKE the chain chomp boards ;) I don't like MP7 as much as the other 7 classic MPs, but out of the boards this might be my favorite of the game. Either this or the Bowser board.
As the 1 vs. 3 minigame "La Bomba" (the name of the 1 vs. 3 minigame) is a parody of the song's name "La Bamba", this song (outside of Mario Party 7), was also a song in "Nancy Cassidy". And "Who is Nancy Cassidy?", you ask me. Nancy Cassidy is a singer.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand welcome back to the protonjon show! In this video of the protonjon show starring protonjon, our heroes decide to go to pyramid as their attempt to steal stars from each other has been going very slow. Although I’m pretty sure that protonjon will have a plan in mind to steal all of the stars. Will his plan succeed? Find out next time on the protonjon show
Snowflake Lake, this board and Bowser’s Warped Orbit. Three Mario Party boards that revolve around stealing stars. I’m glad Super Mario Party doesn’t have a board like any of these three!
Is it me or do I automatically hear the Yugioh theme every time they land on a duel space? It's like out of all Mario Parties and because of that last board, there is so much more dueling than any of the previous games! And right here in the first video, the trend continues! "It's time to d-d-d-d-duel!"
1:40 They’re using the modern Pokey design too. MP6 was still using the SMW look for them. 2:00 Right, back when RU-vid had ratings. Love the hieroglyph Marios there. 3:19 That famed ancient Egyptian curse of communism. 4:10 Not until Super Mario Party. 12:34 So Bowser moonlights as Shelly deKiller? 13:01 Shows how attentive/awake Jon is this session, because he did win the last minigame. 16:20 Taking one for the team for science and a potential bonus star.
Rexaura888 About the modernized designs you keep bringing up, 4-6 reused assets from the N64 Mario Parties (can be seen in enemies such as Whomps, Ukikis, and Thwomps). Super Mario 64 DS introduces many of these modernized designs, and MP7 used many of that remake’s assets.
Oh come on guys, this board is not that bad. I mean, it’s a cooler looking board than Snowflake Lake, the music makes you feel like you’re getting exhausted in a desert, which is a cool feature, and the board is pretty big for this style of play.
So for those of you who need a recap as to what exactly happened on Snowflake Lake in Mario Party 6 That was the only board during the entire LP that Tim won. For some reason since Jon wins so often now I psychologically have somehow deduced that everytime Emile loses even if its not specifically to Jon I was somehow identifying it as another win to Jon. Somehow my brain completely erased the notion Tim won any boards in Mario Party. This was an example of two seperate times where Tim has almost won a board but due to circumstances he was either not paying attention to (or recording errors IE the last turn of Clockwork Castle) the other time being the Koopa Themed Board in Mario Party 4 where Tim accidentally gave Jon another win on his resume Tim might actually win this board the factor is can Jon fuck up the roll sequence of a sluggish shroom again like he did last time?
Just an FYI, Tim didn't so much "accidentally" give Jon the win in Koopa's Seaside Soiree as much as he deliberately gave him the win because he thought it'd be funny if Jon swept the entire project. He said as much in the video. I also could have sworn that Tim won another board in MP6.
In Mario Party 7, there is no day/night cycle. And on Pyramid Park, normal Chain Chomps charge you 10 coins for 1 Dice Block or 20 coins for 2 Dice Blocks. The 1 Chain Chomp (the red one), he starts with 3 Dice Blocks even for 10 coins. But yes, Pyramid Park in Mario Party 7 has the same board mechanics like Snowflake Lake from Mario Party 6.
