Yup! IIRC one of his charity incentives was to dig up his old RPG maker games he used to try to make years ago long before Twitch and show them on-stream. The most developed was a Chrono Trigger fangame but many others were just incomplete early concepts. He had more or less forgotten most of what he had done and why, and while exploring one of them he found a cave and tried to see if there were any secrets there. After managing to make it into the cave, he just comes across a note that basically mocks the player for wasting their time trying to find a secret and insists that there are no secrets there. He keeps looking and finds a rock that you can move, which reveals a sparkling point just like the one in this romhack, when he inspects it however it just says "ert". Vinny was very confused just why he put it there and what it meant, or if it was even intentional or just some unfinished leftover. You can see it at the 1:23 hour mark here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xkvy5clJGE0.html
I'm not sure, but I think Pretzel was conceived during Vinny's Tomodachi Life streams and added to the cast shortly after. He was boring as all hell, I'm sure almost no one remembers him or anything he's done in those streams.
@@karunyagopan Pretzel was conceived during one of his Game & Wario drawing streams. He got a promt for "pretzel" and tried to draw it with his eyes closed. The result was a scribble that vaguely looked like a Mario brother.
So I did find something I don't think anyone else found. So at the end when you go through the pipes to enter the incognito tabs, usually you go through 7 incognito tabs and the next one is the princess bleach room. But I found the 8th incognito tab. So in the 7th tab you can jump onto the meat statue in the center of the room, then jump back up to the right and there's a walk-able pathway. Then you jump through the ceiling and it will hit a load zone that brings you to the 8th tab. In there you can hop through a hole in the wall on your right immediately from spawning in, and jump out of the map on top of the ceiling and start jumping left and notice you'll be running across the ceiling of all the previous incognito tabs.
It is a great hack, but trust me when I say that I've gotten more comments about the Tingle room than anything else on this video, even after stating that I'm aware the room's location.
The baby yoshi “fight” segment can be skipped. Holding baby yoshi for a certain amount of time overall will trigger the regular cutscene, but kicking him to the far left then quickly tossing him up and jumping in the pipe with him won’t trigger the fight, so baby yoshi can be brought to the surface without a fight. Not really an Easter egg but it’s cool nonetheless, also if you bring the “B” block to the smile ghost segment, you’ll be holding...well I won’t ruin the surprise if you haven’t already figured it out
Thank you for your information. Also, yeah, I was aware of the "B" block in the smile_ghost segment. I found out about it minutes after I finished uploading the video.
If you press up on the TV that broadcasts Princess Bleach's kidnapping, Mr. Dink's face will pop out of the TV I found the graphics for them while looking at the extracts in YY-CHR and saw that they're used in-game
Just noticed on Lunar Magic today that there is another unused level that doesn’t show up in the game “112”. It’s a test room of sorts, having a warp to every level in the game, that I assume the developers used to test levels and other things quickly. I also was able to get into that weird unused Mario and Luigi level (via hacking) and unfortunately there isn’t much there but unused sprites and what you’ve already shown in this video.
@@DavidPCM for me I use the “page up” and “page down” keys on my keyboard until I get to the level. Once I found “3E” I realized I couldn’t warp there normally due to it being a sub world. So I put a door in the first level of the hack to warp me to 3E.
I somehow got Yoshi to the secret Princess Bleach painting (don't remember how). When you attempt to jump into the painting (like the one that shows up through normal gameplay) the audio fades out and you get softlocked. Was really hoping it led to a secret 4th ending, or "good" ending perhaps.
I'm assuming the reason that the [B] emoji changes is because of how SMW stores its graphics. Not every sprite graphic can be loaded at once, so it loads just the stuff that's necessary. The [B] was probably just changing depending on what sprite sheet was loaded during that segment (such as the red room using the sprite sheet that Drake was in, where his head was in the same slot as the [B]) as apposed to an intentional easter egg.
Maybe this isn't very hidden, but on twitch town there's a dog npc and if you manage to reach the place where he is and if you talk to him the dog will be interrupted by some call here's where we can hear the Motorola Ringtone playing with the Mario World Soundfont
For everyone curious, the Vinesauce highlights shows this off but it's Vinny saying: "When he got there, the Princess was already dead." That plotline wasn't abandoned, was it
@@edenengland1883 I'm just gonna ignore how condescending you sound in this comment and say that I do what I want with my content. You don't have control over that. I wanted to cover major easter eggs that are details you don't easily come across in the standard gameplay route. The reversed voice clip is something you hear in any run of the game and can be found out easily yourself with a program like Audacity.
After you press the rewind button, at some point the screen goes black, and there is a reverse audio clip. Through rewinding, you can hear it say "When he got there, the Princess was dead."
>The double spinning tingle room is level 34 Concern level: Moderate As for level 3E, how far can you get in the Super Hot hell section via TAS? I actually don't know, and if there's a reachable endpoint it might go there (although I'm guessing you've already checked that in Lunar Magic)
It's impossible to reach the end of the Super Hot section. I've tried it with precise inputs and rewinds. Besides, I don't think there's a warp at the end of that stage.
As far as I can tell Super Hot Hell is deliberately impossible to beat. If Vinny couldn't beat it via rewind, there isn't much point to linking anything to it than the following cut screen. Besides, whatever idea behind 3E was probably scrapped for more than one reason; building quality levels and plot and making it actually fun is never easy.
To get to level 3E, you only have to do 3 things to an edited ROM of Mario's Mystery Meat: 1. Go to level 101 and click the blue door in the Lunar Magic GUI. 2. Click the first door on the Lunar Magic GUI. Without changing anything, type 3E in the box. You don't have to do anything else here. 3. Enable layer 1 editing mode by clicking the grass. Set a door in the level in the 0th or first frame of the level; the one that Sponge is standing in. Presto! Save and then start up that edited ROM and you will be able to access the 3E level. You can't access much at this point, so I recommend that you move Sponge's starting position in level 3E to be next to the pipe, which moves vertically. Enable sprite editing mode to do this, I think.
10:50 the tingle area is easily accessable , you just need to get yoshi , eat a chat guy , go in the corrupt word and enter the you spin me right round room
Ive been watching youtube videos for over 5 years and i had no idea (,) and (.) moved the screen one frame. I cant tell you how many times ive played a video at 0.25 speed over and over just to pause it so i can get a better look at a secret that was only onscreen for 1 frame. Just for that, you just got another subscriber
With pretzel you can go until the end with Yoshi, your reptilian friend, bad news that it creates some bugs. And you can stuck the game trying to enter to the Princess Bleach painting.
IIRC the ert3 thing is a reference to that RPG Maker game Vinny made just for fun and he got pretty far with it but there was this one room with some boulders and pushing a boulder would reveal a sparkle that when interacted with said something like "ert3" but that's only if my horrible memory serves me right.
Ert2 is one easter egg from the game super sponge World the orange is a lonely color in the secret tube hare a pineapple box and there is ert but in marios mystery meat is ert2
well, more so with a sound cue. if you read then you'd get that. if I ever did get around to making a part 2 of this video though, I think I'll have it fully voiced instead.
I'm not sure if the endings change with Pretzel, but I can tell you that most subworlds are still present I think. They aren't accessible by normal means though and I don't know why anyone would want to access them.
@@DavidPCM Well, maybe in an early version of the Super Hot Hell Section, it _was_ beatable, and it would transition into the section with the Mario Wigglers.
could be dumb. but isnt the mario stage with the big mario and luigi used during the quiz segment? the big fire wall hits you while you run and kills you.
how did you get the game to open in LM? whenever i try to get inside, it just tells me the hack was locked with LM's hack locking function, and unfortunately there is no modern way to reverse this on an sa-1 rom as far as i know
I was able to open it in Lunar Magic Version 3.21 pretty easily. Requires adding a header of sorts but it does work still. Not sure if that will help you though, I'm not experienced in this here.
@@DavidPCM ugh youtube never notifed me of your reply :/ what did you use to add the header? would you be able to just send me a bps patch to be applied to the hack?
@@MANGOM1LK Lunar Magic usually always prompts me to add a header before I start editing anything, any time I open a ROM. Not sure why you need the patch but if it just never works I'll consider
I noticed something pretty interesting when opening the rom in LM: While all OG SMW levels that haven't been replaced by the new ones are still intact, Level 105, Yoshi's Island 1 and the default starting level when you open a rom in LM, in addition to being inaccessible, has had all of its tiles and objects aside from the spawn points deleted. More interesting though is that it's had its background changed to that of Yoshi's Island 2's.
