I really appreciate how they stuck with the original spritesheets for all the characters and kept animation really limited. Re-using specific poses in new ways. Like Luigi doing flips with the vine-climb pose, Mario canoeing with one of the swim poses. And Princess Peach, literally doing everything in the only stand pose that exists for her in SMB1.

This may become another of my favorite game on the Switch as long as it's developed well enough and I have so much fun with it. I am such a longtime Mario fan from like since 2009 and I do get along with the Sonic series completely well. I still remember trying out a game development software and getting some practice and skill improvement when attempting on making a good quality Mario fangame back in 2012. But I've never assumed that the Sega employees don't know how to develop games just because they make a bad quality one. *cough* Shovel Knight *cough*

The reasoning behind the clashing 8-bit and 16-bit sprites was probably because the Genesis was originally made to compete with the NES.

I would like to take a moment to thank Nintendo for this game. Not because of the 2d events that are in it, but because they added skateboarding. I understand that it will be an official Olympic sport starting next year, but that doesn't mean they had to include it. While it may be a small thing, it's nice to see it added. Thanks, Nintendo

Everytime my friend who lives on the other side of neighborhood comes over, we always play Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics Games on the Wii U, so this will be really cool playing the Tokyo one on the Nintendo Switch.
