When I was a little kid I loved watching my parents play this game. It was like they were kids & they enjoyed it. The sweetest thing about it was that they’d play and I thought it was the best nights ever when they would play & as a grown adult now, my dad told me that they’d play when they were broke & couldn’t afford to go out. I never knew but it’s just something that makes me happy to have seen them so happy back then..
@@abigailariceaga1676 aw man....that's sad. But at least there are memories to look back on. I hope you and your parents (regardless of the circumstances) are doing well
@@emilyannthevioletghost715 My aunt and uncle have the game and they have a gamecube. Problem is that it doesn’t work. But I bought my own and never used it, sadly don’t have this game with it.
Back in 2015, I had a dream that this game was on the PS1. The graphics didn’t look like it’s on the PS1 for some reason. It still looked like a GameCube/PS2 game. This game also had some old people on it like they were Waluigi’s grandparents or something. Idk why that is. Also, the song Green Onions from the Sandlot was playing in the background.
For the life of me I can't understand how you got a home run with Waluigi. In my many years of playing this game, I even managed to get it with Baby Luigi and Dixie Kong and Paragoomba once or twice, but never Waluigi. His hits are so weak they rarely ever even make it out of the infield even fully charged, at least for me. Even in practice mode it took me a million tries to get it 😂😂😂 That is impressive!
Thank you! I had a tougher time getting Perfect! home runs with Kuribo, Patakuribo, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong. This was actually pretty good distance for Waluigi, considering there was no chemistry on the field. Making perfect contact is vital for the really weak characters. You gotta get that sweet spot of the bat on the ball. Chemistry also makes a really big difference. Find out who the batter has chemistry with and get those characters on base ahead of time. I have a playlist for this game: ru-vid.com/group/PL69729F0F2FEF7EB2 It's got all kinds of great content. If you're partial to home runs, then I recommend watching the "5-Star Homers" or the "Pitch, Perfect! Party" videos. All characters are showcased. I think you'll enjoy them. Thanks for watching and cheers!
I actually recently played and managed to hit a homerun with Waluigi (even twice, one time in Bowser's Castle no less - and almost got a third one also in Bowser's Castle but it was barely foul sadly). I think the key is to swing late with Waluigi so as to hit to left field (since his opposite field hitting is stronger).
What a nice Sunday surprise! I have scored Home Runs with every character at least once. Among the hardest characters to score homers with for me include Baby Luigi, Dixie Kong, and Paragoomba. I loved seeing Paragoomba's Grand Slam. Great job! 😊
Thanks! I agree with you about Dixie Kong, Baby Luigi, & Patakuribō being tough achievements for "Perfect" home runs. Waluigi could be a bit of a pain, too. Here's another Mario Superstar Baseball video you might enjoy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qoOYl1yNjYE.html Cheers. =)
Nice. It's been a while since I played Challenge Mode. Let me tell you about Kamek, though. He has got some serious power when it comes to chemistry home runs. Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_CspfOgRjS4.html
Thanks for the link. 👍 I had no idea that an MLB player had ever attempted to blow the ball foul. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo based the Wario clip on Randle's action.
@@bkachief What do you mean? From the clip I watched, it looks like the umpires were right on top of it and didn't take long to award first base to the hitter.
Despite being Power-type characters, Wario, Pianta, King Boo, and Boomerang Bro are some of the tougher characters for me to hit homers with. For the former two, I suppose it's due to me having awkward timing. As for the latter two, they tend to hit curve balls a lot. I imagine many other players have the same issue. 🤔
Wario isn't a problem for me and I love his bat! =) Neither is Boomerang Bro. In fact, he's one of my favorite home run hitters. He's just beastly. I've hit way too many homers with King Teresa to call it a struggle, but the swing animation does still fool me on occasion. For me, Monte's bat is similar to Kinopiko in that it's almost like an optical illusion. I struggle just to make contact with both of them. Monte's bat is a large chunk from a palm tree for goodness sake, so you'd think it would make for a very powerful & consistent bat. But not for me. =/
@@yaboishinyhuntingaustin3651 Did you watch the tutorials? They are very helpful. You have to find the sweet spot on the bat. It also helps to charge up your player while you wait for the pitch. Watch the tutorials and train. After that, play the "Challenge" mode and earn a star for all the players you like. It's easier to get home runs when your player is starred. Getting "Perfect!" home runs requires a lot of practice, though. Just keep at it.
I don’t know why but I never got used to the GameCube game, still love seeing gameplay though. I played the Wii version. Nice thing about that version, besides your miis and trampette it’s a pretty easy feat getting a home run with everyone.
@@TicyPhenylFanClub But seriously, thank you. I have a whole lot of Mario Superstar Baseball videos on my channel. I'm sure you'd enjoy some of the others. Here's the link to the playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PL69729F0F2FEF7EB2
@@bubufubu Just I could NEVER hit homers with Mario. Luigi I could. But never Mario. Don't know why Luigi got several perfect hits though. I wasn't sure if there was a learning curve to make the perfect hits easier.
@@bluewulv Always make sure you know where the sweet spot on the bat is and wait for the CPU to toss a charged up pitch. Try that out and see if it helps.
@@bubufubu I wonder if some characters have bigger sweet spots though. I got it with Shy Guy Luigi and Toadsworth, but sadly Mario not so much. If this gets reported to switch I can try, but man. Would've thought Mario would be one of the easier homer hitters.
@@bluewulv It's possible the sweet spots vary in size, but I doubt it. The only issue for me has been the visual differences between the bats. It's always been relatively easy for me to hit home runs with Mario. He's much more dependable than some other characters.
You are not the greatest of all time at this game because that distinction doesn't actually exist and never will. If you have videos to upload of you playing this game, then feel free to share your accomplishments with the rest of us. Aside from that, kindly shut the fuck up and move along, tough guy. Cheers.
@@bubufubu hahah dude in a perfect world there would be online play for gamecube and I would bust ur ass in some mario baseball!! Ik im not the best but damn the things I would do to be able to play in an online mario baseball tournament lol I would beat u tho
the intro instantly brought back memories. this was one of my favourite games as a kid. i lost it when i moved along with a majority of my childhood games, which sucked. i'm living vicariously through this LOL
I meant to say this last time, but you did great with Toad hitting Bowser's Power Shot. My favorite homerun animation is Shy Guy. Do you have a favorite?
Thanks. I managed to include some star pitches in both of the videos. Some of them are tough to hit, like Princess and Daisy. I couldn't figure out Donkey Kong's at all. I think I'm supposed to watch the shadow instead of the banana, but who the hell knows. My favorite is Hammer Bro. He has those unique camera angles at home plate. I think it would be hilarious to see MLB players perform some of them during actual games. As a side note, I can't believe how many Mario Superstar Baseball videos I've uploaded. And I'm not even finished! It's kind of absurd. But I just love this game so much and have a ton of footage.
The only batters I feel come close to being considered "broken" are King Koopa and King Teresa. In my experiences, those two are ridiculous when it comes to home runs. Donkey Kong, Hammer Bro, and Boomerang Bro aren't too far off. If by "batting", you just mean getting on base, then I'm not sure who the most consistent has been for me.
@@bubufubu Oh, I meant by getting homeruns. I could remember that in mario superstar baseball and sluggers hammer bro effortlessly got home runs, while when I used other power type characters like DK, pianta, bowser, or wario, it's mostly just sending the ball in the outfield lel.
@@rustyshackelford4224 There's many reasons and I can't think of them all right now, but I'll try to list most of them for you. The roster, tight controls, animation, music, sound effects, stadium designs, opening & closing clips, Bob-omb Derby, Challenge Mode, chemistry amongst players, special moves, and the hidden 5-Star home run swing.
Some animations for the home runs (to me) look better than Sluggers, such as Paratroopa and Paragoomba. Do you like Mario Superstar Baseball or Mario Super Sluggers more?
I've never played Sluggers. Only watched footage of it here on RU-vid. Judging by animations and the ridiculous roster it has, I want no part of it. It honestly looks to be at least a few steps down from Superstar.
@@BasedToastnt I didn't grow up with Superstar, so it's not about nostalgia for me. I grew up playing other baseball games on older systems. By the time I finally played Superstar, I had gotten around enough to know what I was looking for in a baseball game. I even took a long break (four or five years) from playing it, only to come back and find that my appeal for it began to increase with further knowledge of the game.
It's easier to answer that when it's specific to home runs. For most characters, the stats don't matter and you can get on base relatively easily if your timing and reflexes are good. For home runs, my most consistent characters are King Koopa, Donkey Kong, Boomerang Bro, Hammer Bro, and King Teresa.
