Marisa Tomei made her first ever appearance on Late Night with Dave on March 3, 1993. In the tradition of Nastassja Kinski, Marisa's hair becomes a major distraction for Dave.
She's one of those special women who makes you weak at the knees, just by walking in the room! And she still just as beautiful 25 years after my cousin Vinny
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am sure many people would object to this. Beauty is not about looks....I think nothing skin deep is beautiful. I have met women who were nothing to look at ...but they had a heart of gold. That's what makes you beautiful. And you don't have to look young either.
Marisa clearly is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood at this point in her prime. You can see why from this camera shot. I don't think it's possible to be more beautiful. Over the years playing roles of people looking a dozen years younger. Not many Hollywood beauties maintain their looks like Marisa has. That's why , in my opinion, she is up there with the greatest beauties of all time.
Been watching old Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh interviews on Letterman and now Marisa Tomei ... all adorable , intelligent and funny women being interviewed by Dave in his irreverent prime. Great stuff.
she was a senior in my high school (she went to murrow in brooklyn) when i was a freshman! ahhh, the tv generation. don't miss it one bit. love the internet much more!
Sudden and unexpected wins at the Oscars are the literal best!! The fact she wasn't nominated for Bafta, GG and still managed to win..... For a performance that usually not awarded by the Oscars..... She totally nailed it, whether it was a comedic performance or not, she deserved that Oscar!
It was considered a suprise when she won the Oscar, but all these years later it is one of my most memorable perfirmances, and one that makes me happiest. No one more deserving.
Dave has mastered the art of keeping things going when he interviews just about anyone... but here, even he has trouble regaining focus on more than one occasion. Its pretty obvious, he is smitten... and who wouldn't be? This is hilarious.
Her and Susan Hoffs are my 2 celebrity crushes I never got over since the late 80s...I shoulda married both, as they lasted. Watch Marissa as Edith from All in the Family...man, who would have thought Edith can be so appealing but she does it all in perfect character.
No actor in any movie or TV show has ever believably faked a Maine accent. Tomei's accent in that movie was just her own accent for the most part, with a few attempts here and there to affect a Maine accent. Her attempt wasn't the worst in the movie though; that "honor" goes to Celia Weston. The only actors in that movie who could have legitimately passed for native Mainers were the ones who didn't try to fake an accent at all (or barely tried), like Nick Stahl. A neutral American accent is perfectly valid for a Mainer, while a fake Maine accent isn't.
Marisa Tomei fully deserved her Oscar - no doubt. All the other actors were brilliant in “My Cousin Vinny”, especially Joe Pesci. A wonderful comedy of all time. Thanks for sharing video.
