Mischa Barton was so beautiful on this show. And Marissa was so sweet and understanding as a character. She was just abused and taken advantage of by those who were supposed to protect and care for her.
Marissa has been mistreated all along..... She has been banned from her school because she shot Trey who was about to kill Ryan, plus this person was actually the one who tried to rape her before..... Not to mention how she ended up..... Just broke my heart......
her death was so sad, and definitely unnecessary! She was a great character & went through a lot. I totally agree that song fits her so well!! I'm considering doing a multifemale edit to "you're on your own kid" and I will definitely include her in it.
I am back at rewatching this and this broke my heart, this for sure one of the best edits I have seen!! The complexity of her character works so well with songs such as nothing new, she had so many storylines, mostly sad ones, and she did not deserve all that happened to her. I am so “happy” I rewatched the edit after I’ve seen The OC, cause it sure is amazing! Seeing my initial comment on the edit is so funny cause little did I know😭💔
I can't believe I'm only now seeing this comment! I remember back when red(tv) was released, when I first listened to nothing knew it instantly reminded me of marissa😭💔 the writers gave her such heartbreaking storylines, ughhh she deserved so much better. I have to say, even tho this edit is so sad, it still remains one of my favorites I've made so it means a lot you went back & rewatched it after watching The OC!
This was so sad, her death was really unnecessary. I feel like the writers or director or somebody had it out for her cause I didn't know they were kinda basing Marissa's struggles off of Mischa's 😠
I feel that way too! the writer's probably wanted to capitalize on the things going on in Mischa's real life and they probably thought it could draw in lots of views. I agree that her death was so unnecessary
Love this character study. You did a great job. Poor Marissa. I always loved her and maybe should vid her again myself sometime. I did 2 character studies well over a decade ago but... this show never gets old lol.
thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I absolutely love Marissa's character too, she was so interesting and 100% deserved better. If you make another Marissa character study, I'll definitely check it out

there is literally a taylor swift song that fits everybody and that's literally the magic of making edits, planning your next song, character etc. i love thiss💗💗
thank you sm!! and I totally agree!! making edits to taylor swift songs is one of my favorite things to do, and I too love planning them out! literally, right now I'm trying figure out a new edit to one of her songs💗💖
soooo trueeee!!!!! i am planning to do like a "midnights collection" thing and include them all in a playlist so like the lead was harley then blair and serena and so on if that makes sense😭💗
same! I'm rewatching it & I kind of forgot how there were a lot of darker plotlines, especially with Marissa's character. she definitely deserved better💔😔
Marissa Cooper. The character was a true Bodhisattva. That’s just as best as I can say it. The character Marissa in all the ways she was as a person was the embodiment of a Bodhisattva. Which is a person who puts off enlightenment and instead helps others find True Self.
