They are just ordinary guys. Mark is in the town fire department and Digger’s wife has a clothing store. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are groupies and I was traveling with them when they tracked these two down. Digger called Mark and they took time with us. I’d like to meet them again so they could critique some of the science project I have been working on.

This show is a fake as fake can get I highly doubt these people are actually making moonshine

they actually film it then publish it months after, i used to think its fake but if you look into the show hard & the publishing & the money & origin behind it u can see its real. They gas popcorn up a smidge by saying mark & digger were popcorns apprence/that popcorn was their mentor, but in reality they were partners who all had their own thing going. They make real shine, are real people out in the appilacia (someone ik met them at a gas station in chatanooga/somewhere in tennessee) & the locals their stand by them & their shine. 90% of the moonshiners on this show have been to prison multiple times either state or federal for doing what they do on this show. This is their reality & is hereditary for half of them, certain scenes are scripted & extra like the lookout scares when mark n digger worked with a farmer as a lookout for a black truck that pulled in as the realitor. Ik certain things are scripted, but its almost unbelievable how much is real. like when the brothers let us see the safe of what their bootlegging legend father left them, that was real & intimate for us to be able to be let into their life like that.

Lol no, you look when they use a hydrometer, you see when they shake the jar it's real. Why would Distillers with a permit to produce alcohol bother running water when they've already made the mash. Whether they can actually run what they produced in the show into real sale given the stills and distilling at sites that aren't licensed isn't legal except with a permit that means you can't sell the booze ordinarily... Gets complicated.
