He's a long shot to win a stage. He has had a wonderful career, but Mark will need a lot of luck to earn a stage win. Not many can compete at the top at 39 years old. Bon chance, Mark!

it is sad but at least his teammate waited for him. His teammate could have gone with the peleton but they didn't, really respect that from them.

They set off so that they'll finish between 17:30-18:00 in every stage. It has always been like this, which is why heat is part of the Tour 🥵

It's sad to see him limping along like this, but he's the one who insisted on coming back... I still maintain that his crash out from last year's Tour was a sign from the universe to bow out from the sport.

No, you just don't have a clue about cycling. He wouldn't have been here if his numbers in training hadn't been up to the mark (no pun intended). He has simply trained to maximise his power output in the sprints, and undoubtedly has just been hoping to hang on over the climbs. As it was, he finished well within the time limit. He was never a great climber. You'd know that if you'd watched the sport for as long as he's been riding.
