There are few things better in life than when a multi-billionaire wants to take down other multi-billionaires....with INTEGRITY. That is just priceless!
I really love Mark he is genuinely a great guy in person, I ran across him at a hotel in Toronto, he said hi, smiled and respectfully made his way, but the genuine acknowledgment was enough.
_A rare combination of _*_Intellectual Host + Intellectual Guest_*_ on a talk show, lately._ They're the fellas who have the power to change things for better, and actually do it on a regular basis in their own unique way! 👏 👏 👏 #Respect #MarkCuban #TrevorNoah
True hero! Just looked up an example on his drug website - someone needing kidney disease medication could go from paying $9,900/yr to $137/yr for the same exact medication. Absolutely unreal. Go Mark!!
I would love to see a guy like Cuban try to take on the housing industry next. There's a severe shortage of affordable housing especially places like California where you have to practically be a millionaire just to get a loan approved.
How would that work? Even with the funds and his ethics. Whole neighborhoods everywhere are being bought by corporations who care nothing whatsover about what's affordable to anynof us. There must be a solution. I'm just being sceptical Deemikey
As far as capitalists go I like Mark Cuban, but if your expecting someone like him to fix the housing crisis you don't understand how we got here in the first place.
Very different context: zoning and zoning laws are a bottleneck for success that the pharma industry doesn’t have. Also, the time frame is different - even if he successfully enforced better policy (which is very hard) and invested a lot of money, the results would only show (nationwide) after a decade or two. Not sure if he has the patience for that. Hat off for his work with cost+drugs though.
Writing from Turkey now where we just completed our 2nd ivf cycle. The first one was in the U.S. and the medication cost was $5400 there. The same drugs in Turkey costs around $400! The total ivf cycle was $2000 here with a successful result!! 🎉
Mark Cuban is a disruptor. He's that guy in high school who sees the Bully picking on a kid who can't defend himself and stops in to F#@k that Bully up!
In the past, big time self-made American Millionaires/Billionaires had great satisfaction sharing their wealth in ways that benefited others less fortunate. Mr. Fisher comes to mind. Mark Cuban is cut from that same cloth.😊
Trevor Thanks again for helping my day get better your guest tonight Mark with his Cost Plus is real trickle down one of the first. Not flying off to the Moon but helping people Thank
heard his name a few times, never bothered to check, now I am going to follow him. I think he is a great guy and his promise to the world is amazing! We need more people like him!
The thing is, even if he does hike up prices later, he improves the lives of so many people now. Getting medicines for a fraction of the money for a couple of months before having to pay the insane prices for it later again? Makes a massive difference, including long term. Worst case scenario someone will need to go back to paying "full price" for the medicine in the future, but that still leaves them better off than if he hadn't started the company in the first place.
I was hopeful the medication I need for my gastrointestinal disorder would be on there. I hope it is soon. I'm in agony cause I can't afford $500+ a month when I only get $800 a month to live on as a disabled person.
I found only one of my more expensive medications. The ones I can afford are ~$175/mth. One medication I can't afford at all, it's ~$250/mth as an injection. If Cuban can make his company work, he will be able to add more to the list. ***Crossing My Fingers***. My SSA is $1608/mth & my rent is $1205, so I feel you.
@@halibaitor I saw on ReCode he said he wanna add the brand names but they have a deal with the insurance companies, they have contractual obligation thats the problem
@@rishavmalveeya Thanks for the information. Which pharmaceutical companies are you talking about? I would have to get the manufacturers' chemical descriptions before buying anything from a country that has no guidelines for the main ingredient. I'm a retired RN, BSN & that's why my doctors didn't recommend buying drugs from other countries, specifically Canada. The medications had the main ingredient but in lesser doses & we had patients wind up in the hospital & even die. We did have one patient, who lived in South America for part of the year (I can't remember which country), whose medication was on par with the USA when it came to the dosage of the main ingredient. His doctor was fine with him buying the much cheaper medication from that country.
@@halibaitor Most of the time, generics are fine for me but there are a few of my medications for which I have to take Brand Only (the generic version just doesn't work, at all) or a more expensive version (I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in all the cheaper choices).
What an inspiring man and example that all business owners and ideally billionaires should be emulating! Gives you hope for our future that NOT everyone is morally corrupt, and some billionaires still have integrity, heart and values. Why aren't more people talking about him?
I would like to see what can be done about the massive increases is medical benefit costs and the lack of available services. People are having to make appointments three months out. Many are paying some of the highest prices for coverage and not able to find health care providers.
Bless you Trevor for having Mark Cuban on your show and asking these questions, my family member is in desperate need of a drug we cannot afford. Even if it will not help us maybe others will get this knowledge to help them.
The richest people have lobbiest and get laws passed to protect their monopoly. Hope Mark gets his pharmaceutical goals met. I can't use synthroid because it doesn't work for me, but the organic Armor thyroid medicine I have to use is considered an experimental drug by insurance companies. My Armor thyroid is the most expensive medicine of the 4 drugs I take and it's been around since the 1950s. Experimental it's NOT!
Thank you, Mark Cuban. Praying for the Name Brand Humalog Insulin prices to be regulated. I get the 10 side effects of the Generic Humalog Insulin. I have to go to another country to get my medication. So happy you are working on the problem. Our country has needed a leader in the regulation of medications for a long time.
Put someone with money and a true heart in charge and that person will make a real difference. If anyone can make this work Mark Cuban will make it work and help thousands of people. I for one am very thankful for Mark Cuban. He is one if a kind....we need more like him in this world....💜💜💜
Hey Arcenia! Apologies for dropping this here I came across your RU-vid channel and I would love to know you better. I'm guessing you must be an honest person, because I always found your comments to be so nice and respectful. If it's okay with you, I'd love to be friend but if it sounds odd or embarrassing in any way please don't embarrass me by replying. Have a wonderful day, and keep sharing!
This is amazing!! Someone really turning apart of this messed up system around, I look forward to it and will definitely be using this service FOR REAL PEOPLE
I have an accounting background but have a solid idea for an urban farm idea for him… think he’s the right open minded guy for it but my math checks out. I should give it a shot
Mark and Kevin are the best sharps and people they know how to have fun unlike other billionaires who are serious and all business these guys know how to have fun ! That’s what I love about mark ! If mark will ever runs for President I will vote for him !!
Pharmaceutical industry leaders are criminals. Before my mother passed away, she was living off social security and was diagnosed with a brain disease at age 72 during the height of covid. The cost of medication which Medicare would not cover was $2,500/month. I found Canadian and Mexican pharmacies online and bought her medication for less than $200/month. Our healthcare system is so broken and pharmaceutical companies are driving people into poverty, not to mention taking advantage of seniors. Mark Cuban may not be a saint... but I have newfound respect for him for starting Cost Plus Drugs. Americans really need to wake up and understand that healthcare should not be profit driven and Medicare for All does not mean a communist takeover as Fox, CNN and MSNBC has brainwashed the masses to believe.
Independent pharmacies have been offering a lower cash price way longer than Cuban. And mail order is risky. Where is the publicity and gratefulness for them? They provide critical services to our communities.
Take note on what he said. “My next dollar wont change me”. The reason he can do what he is doing NOW is because he has sold 2 companies worth billions. So he can do these after having liquid money. So I hope we can stop people from judging start up founders of not doing enough. Judge them after being liquid and have done nothing to better the lives of people.
