Heelers are truly the best all round dogs. No more loyal dog and can be easily taught to do almost anything. They love their owners to a level that’s simply hard to believe.
That's a handsome boy. I've got my first heeler now at 40 years old. I've had a lot of other dogs in my life, but now that I have my heeler I can't imagine wanting another breed. They can be a handful but they're absolutely fantastic! Their intelligence and loyalty alone are worth their hell raising. The highlight of my day is when my Boomer jumps up on my bed and tells me that it's time to wake up by licking my eyes, nose, mouth, and ears for about a solid minute. And the day just gets better from there
I did some bow hunting years ago. I was also a falconer, and I had a Red-Tail Hawk. Walking trough the forest with a bow and arrows and a hawk on your shoulder is really an experience of getting in touch with nature. I didn't kill a deer, but it was a great experience. I think each arrow I lost was about $25.
Where do you live mate....the 14th century? 😂lol.....I'd love to be a falconer, illegal where I am or I'd be the proud owner of a Peregrine.....well done,
@@PhilipBurton-dn3ce I live in Utah, USA. We have a lot of state and federal laws regarding raptors and falconry. I think one of the hardest birds to get permits for would be the Peregrine. And I don't think that is a bird for a novice falconer. One thing about them is that they can fret and stop eating because of separation from a mate. These take special handling.
@@johnlennon335 Yes, my ignorance of birds of prey is outstanding.....I spent my childhood in England in the early 1970s and remember watching Peregrines....stunning.....I've spent the rest of my life in southern NSW in Australia.....I own 40acres of forest that is full of feral deer, fox and rabbit passing through, one of my mates brings his bow.....hunters paradise......much admiration for your experience, just googled Red Tailed Hawk, beautiful, seem quite large too.....live well and be happy my friend
My Penny looks and acts just like your Flint (she has the eye patch, same build) - - I haven't trained her for hunting at all, however she is constantly leading me to animals. I'm not really a hunter myself but I might pick it up just for her.
Hi, look up Big Game Indicating Dogs on RU-vid and you'll find your way to the Deer Dog Training Blueprint by Kiwi dog trainer Paul Michaels. I'm working on training a Blue Heeler mix using the Blueprint at the moment. I'm not sure if that is the system Mark from the video used to train his dog, but it's a proven system that works.
I love heelers I've only had one. I didn't know they could track deer. I haven't done much hunting but I imagine hunting with a blue or red heeler would be incredibly satisfying. Thanks for the video.
rad. I have two that I take to the beach surfing everyday, they are mad for the dassies here on the west coast of South Africa. I've had Ziggy for the last decade too during my teens.
Yoh know iv watched this about 12 times over multiple feeds. I have owned my heelers three years now.... I think tomorrow Is a fat ham for thier birthdays... only way I can really show my happiness is threw my dogs... I really wish I had the hunting and training behind my back .. scent hunting too I'd love it if I taught them that young. Thanks again mate. Cheers for canada bc kamloops
Smoky is companion over the road trucking and is always alert to game when out in mountains. He alerted me to a bison minutes before it became visible. LoL
