Whuutt?! Only 150+ comments? This performance was Spectacular!! Looks like it was an awesome show! Thank you So Much to whoever posted this video! It was almost like being there myself! Just Brilliant! Mighty Mark Knopfler killing it, dripping with R&B soul!
Mark Knopfler exceptionally artist incorporating expertise of knowledge playing the guitar and notes written to enmcompass his vocal songs descriptive of subtle tones yet echoes belief in words written through harmony and reflect on his artistic ability to create music. Marki Knopfler one of a kind! Thank you Mark Knopfler
For me the best version ever of this magic song, also likely because Danny and the others musiciens were all on fire on that one version. So great, thanks MK and band.
same here; I keep saying though, that if I were stuck on an island for five years and had only the full collections of two artists and a band to take with, Mark Knopfler is top of that list :) .. (along with Seger and The Eagles )
sorry to disagree, please take a look at the Nimes'92 version, Mark and the rest of the band at their best moment in their professional lives, no comparison is possible
@@volvo240maniac That Pensa single coil sound has never cut it with me. The amp probably has a big part to play also. I think that latest amp works best with the LP
Rocks Era between 2004-06 was on fire... Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour and RUSH were in my opinion without question in absolute peak form. Not that they exactly slide down afterwards. It's just so cool those three Bands in particular all hit a new and exciting stride. Rock On Brothers and Sisters !!
I did Dublin, Belfast and London (the night after this one) on this tour any watching this it isn’t difficult to see why - he was on fire! I still have the 20th anniversary edition of Brothers In Arms I bought from the tour shop at the Royal Albert Hall as well - still unopened!
Sucking air and having birthdays and listening to the greatest musician of all time it don't get better than that no way life's great to all M.K-D.S fans God bless you all
Great song. I love Telegraph Road. For me way back then as a little kid and on into my adult years I can fully and truthfully say that Mark Knopfler has and will always be the best musician out there & for me too especially back in his Dire Straits era up until 1992 when Dire Straits disbanded for good. Dire Straits was my first ever rock group and because of that always will be. My former girlfriend who I believe here on RU-vid to be named @Anonymous Red Head thinks and says that Def Leppard is way better than Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler. She actually just saw Def Leppard live in concert here in St. Louis Missouri my hometown last night on my 41st birthday (Tuesday July 5th) at Busch stadium normally home of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. I for one would have to completely disagree with her on that factor. I know I can’t wait to go to Kansas City Missouri again and see Mark Knopfler live in concert if he hopefully decides to tour again but I’m worried sick he won’t due to his age and getting older and not able to rock & roll as much anymore.
Of course not, TR is definitly a strat song. In mk's repertoire, there are strat songs, Les Paul songs. And the Pensa will never replace neither one nor the other.
I GOTTA 4 BLANKETS AND A CAT IN BED DOG IS SLEEPING NEAR AND I AM ROLLING A CIGARETTE AND DRINKING COFFEE MY BACK AND LEGS HURTS ME BUT MUSIC MAKES ME COMFORT YES SO I FORGET TODAY UNTIL TOMORROW
A long time ago came a man on a track Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back And he put down his load where he thought it was the best Made a home in the wilderness He built a cabin and a winter store And he plowed up the ground by the cold lake shore And the other travelers came walking down the track And they never went further, no, they never went back Then came the churches then came the schools Then came the lawyers then came the rules Then came the trains and the trucks with their loads And the dirty old track was the telegraph road Then came the mines - then came the ore Then there was the hard times then there was a war Telegraph sang a song about the world outside Telegraph road got so deep and so wide Like a rolling river... And my radio says tonight it's gonna freeze People driving home from the factories There's six lanes of traffic Three lanes moving slow... I used to like to go to work but they shut it down I got a right to go to work but there's no work here to be found Yes and they say we're gonna have to pay what's owed We're gonna have to reap from some seed that's been sowed And the birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles They can always fly away from this rain and this cold You can hear them singing out their telegraph code All the way down the telegraph road You know I'd sooner forget but I remember those nights When life was just a bet on a race between the lights You had your head on my shoulder you had your hand in my hair Now you act a little colder like you don't seem to care But believe in me baby and I'll take you away From out of this darkness and into the day From these rivers of headlights these rivers of rain From the anger that lives on the streets with these names 'Cos I've run every red light on memory lane I've seen desperation explode into flames And I don't want to see it again... From all of these signs saying sorry but we're closed All the way down the telegraph road
