Mark showed how to keep his own character amongst two who would try to knock him off his perch. Love Vic n Bob but love Mark for staying true all the way through. A real comedian who knows his own worth.
Yeah. The BBC just dont have the shows any more. Personally qi, mock the week and have i got news for you are the o ly decent shows left. Nevermind the buzzcocks was legendary along with mock the week, but the BBC did the same thing with frankie boyle.
Right at the end Bob was going to say "I feel the grease deflected the power of the pan!", you can even see him putting it together in his mind beforehand.
I was looking for vids like that, I blame RU-vid too for showing me Shooting Stars and other UK shows & make me watch them endlessly. Please, let's make modern YT compilations of old/bizarre/obscure/etc. shows a thing!
I love Mark Lamar . National treasure. Unlike Harris . Unfortunately a free man at time of typing. At least people are forewarned. We can finally see what it is.
True. I just love that they did the zoom. I mean, there is no reason for it to exist, except chaos. I guess the ridiculousness made me laugh quite a bit. So I wanted to draw attention to it. You're right, though. The show really is its own disclaimer.
@@venydoesstuff7328 yeah, I thought it might have been satirically playing off of like a Western movie trope...? Like in the showdown in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly with the close-ups on the faces
And as we all know, Mark's surname, 'Lamarr' is French. It's actually a combination of two words. 'La', meaning 'the', and 'Marr' meaning 'fifties' - 'the fifties'.
This isn't true, "The Fifties" in French is les années cinquante. There is no Marr in French. It could be from Marron (brown) or maybe Mar short for Mardi (Tuesday) but in French all days are masculine and La would infer feminine. I was thinking maybe a reference to Marr (Johnny) who is sightly older and whilst it's not impossible that Marks parents were somehow influenced by the 2 year old Johnny at the time to honour the toddler, it seems unlikely. Never mind the fact that Mark is really Mark Jones and Johnny is really Johnny Maher. However as we are talking stage names, it's possible the two met or became acquainted in later years and discussed this at length. We'll probably never know. Anyway I just wanted to prove you wrong because I enjoy doing that in the most straightforward and pedantic way possible. As your humiliation is complete I suggest you don't reply and I think everyone would probably appreciate you taking the time to just think about what you did.
@@trooney71 Not kids.. Apart from the 1 thing he did back in Auz.. The rest is fabricated guff.. He would be the 1st person in history to be a P-doh AND an adult molester.. He had Rolfs cartoon club and access to 100s of kids yet not 1 single person came forward. Other yes but not Rolf.. They destroyed Freddy Starr who was innocent and others.
@@defragsbin Probably true, but I don't think it's unreasonable for people to observe that Mortimer shines brighter than Reeves when he's not playing sidekick.
@@myview5840 He was all right. I used to quite like hearing him talk about cartoons especially when he would point something out that I may not have spotted otherwise. Two Little Boys and Jake the Peg are good songs especially when he would dress up as Jake the Peg.
