The closest to seeing it in real life (driven around it on the way to Orange.. its elevation, wow) is driving the Track in VR.. Its the closest to being there.
The German Nurburgring is known as The Green Hell. When a German DTM (German Touring Car) drive drove at Bathurst, he called it The Blue Hell. (Because gum trees give off vapours under a hot sun that makes the area look blue - hence The Blue Mountains and The Blue Hell). PS love your vids.
I’m a 62 yr old Aussie mum. This is the best race on the planet. My aunt won’t even answer her phone while it’s on. Love the V8Supercars!! And Mark Larkham, Channel 10 tried to sack him as a commentator and there was a furore from the public. They changed their minds, and won’t do that again. He is a part of Bathurst!!
Bless your Mum. I like her style. Good for Mark too. I really like Mark and his description of that race course I could tell that he knows what he is talking about. Seems like a likable guy to me. Thank you for your time and support I really do appreciate that. Good day
@@Boogie597 your wife is a wise woman!! My hubby was never into it, or our son, so I had the lounge to myself and still do, it’s lovely and everyone knows not to interrupt 😂 No one brings me food though but I can see the tv from the kitchen so it’s alright. None of my girl friends are into it apart from my aunt. My father had a large Ford dealership in Ferntree Gully in Melbourne so I have always been a Ford girl, Hope I haven’t offended you with that comment 🤣
Jeff, I think you better get your arse over here and jump into one of our old HQ’s and get racing this great mountain. 1 night with the campers up the top of the mountain and you won’t want to go back home😂
Bathurst is west of Sydney in NSW. Yes, it may be the toughest road course in the world. It's SO long, SO narrow, SO many elevation changes, including in corners. This was a great video. I have seen the race many times, but that was the best description of each part I have seen.
He does such a good job describing this track and it did strike me how skinny it is everywhere and limited passing opportunities. Unreal up and down and all around. I get to check out all of it still new to me and I am really fired up about that
So glad you watched this first, such a great video. Having a brilliant driver, who knows the track so well, explain it to you step by step like that, really unique. Gives you a feel of the atmosphere on race day also. Thanks for this. Oh, and I can guarantee you will have no shortage of people offering to show you around and take you places when you come over, lol. ❤
I know that to be a true fact I can just tell the people are so kind and so courteous I just been beside myself on all the kindness in the comments all of the time. Going to get me all tears and eyes. Thank you I do appreciate your time and support always. By the way I'm secretly planning a trip to Australia
Supercars & prospecting…you’ve found the perfect place! Bathurst is well known historically for gold panning. A little research into the area will tell you everything you need to know. Great reaction✌🏼
Thanks for the info! Renee that is so awesome to know thank you for the info and the help so I think when I do my Australia trip I need to find somewhere at least for a few days at a hotel near Bathurst. Perfect I also want to see Sydney and Melbourne so I will need a full 2 weeks at least. Be well.
I've been watching this great race since i was about 13 and I'm a Ford girl so my all time favourite was Dick Johnson from Queensland. Still have a hardboard copy of his green machine that I had on my wall as a teenager. I am now a 56 year old nanna of 4 and i still love this race. Family rivals are still strong in this family....my mum and oldest son are Holden fans and me and my second brother are Ford fans!!😊
If that doesn't get your heart racing, nothing will. I'm not really a car race fanatic but i watched with my dad & family back when it was The Hardie Ferodo 500. The Bathurst race is phenomenal and this video is awesome. 😄
I've been watching the Bathurst race on TV since I was a kid in the 1980's, but visited the track for the first time this year in January. Did a few laps on my motorbike at the speed limit of 60 km/h and was surprised at how the TV doesn't do the place justice. Narrow track, blind corners, steep decent, houses along Conrod Straight. An awesome place for a race. 😊 When you get there, make sure you visit the Motorsport museum that's right next to the last turn. Some fantastic and iconic race cars and motorbikes there.
Thank you for the great stories that's why I'm here I love this kind of stuff. I could just imagine going around there on a motorbike. I will check out the museum when I'm there. Be well mate
That moment in this video when you were all happy and talkative and all was good and then you just went quiet and watched was absolute gold. The look of complete amazement was worth the price of admission to any track in the world. Welcome to Bathurst :)
Yes yes good analogy I got lost for a second and put myself inside the car thinking on how I would handle some of those turns and that was so much fun to watch I had to watch it again. Now I'm going to try to stay in some type of order I want to see some actual racing and check out some of the drivers that have been mentioned in the comments. What a road course I think greatest race course I have ever seen. Greatest race I have ever seen have you tired of NASCAR don't get me wrong it was a lot of fun but just turning left all the time does get old this course on a mountain up and down and all around is just nuts. Can you believe the crazy Australians put a freaking race course on a mountain. Be well mate
I'm going to see it for myself. I have made up my mind and once that is done it is going to happen. Thank you for your help I really appreciate it and your support. So when I'm talking to the guys I say be well mate if I'm talking to a girl in Australia and I want to say be well do I say be well Sheila or is that wrong let me know the proper way to say it please and thank you Jenny
@@OccasionalOutlaw Just say, hi,or hello. Women here don’t get called Sheila anymore, well I haven’t heard it for years. Introduce yourself, ask their name I guess or just say hello. Ask the men lol. Just be yourself, you’ll be fine.
October 5-8 2023 …. Top 10 shootout is on the 7th..race day is 8th … don’t think you’ll need to rent a car … lots of folks will offer to take you I’m sure! If you aren’t here for the race, you can stream it .. lots of reactors do, especially IWRocker (he’s in Illinois) ….
Well I can't make it for this one I know that for sure. I wish I could but the dates are not good for responsibilities I have. But what I am going to do is make sure that I'm there from October 1st to 15th in 2024. Now I have the beginnings of a solid plan. Thank you for that info I was going to look that up for when the race is. I appreciate the support as always
Bathurst is slightly northwest of Sydney NSW, some where 3.5 to 4.00 hours drive from Sydney. You can definitely take a rental car around Mt Panorama. Remember that it is a public road, and speed limits are enforced. If you do come over to see Bathurst, you are best if you come late September. As the race itself is early October.
It is our GREAT RACE, Bathurst has it all a 1000Klm race or 6 Hours the history of an epic course (which is a normal road course during non racing times so locals use it daily) it has the most amazing drivers with one being the KING of the mountain "Peter Brock" who won the race 9 times and who had the tradition of pushing his race car to the limit on the last lap to show it was just as strong at the end as the beginning and has set lap records doing just that. Yes it is in New South Wales a few hours south west of Sydney. It has become a pilgrimage for most Australians and to this day is one of the toughest races in the world. mark larkham has not only race experience there but also doing the commentary for our great race and this is perhaps the best video about it. Glad you enjoyed mate Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘
Awesome column thank you so much for that. I do appreciate you taking the time and for the support. I'll be really digging deep into Bathurst craziest course I've ever seen.
I'm putting this trip together it may take me some time for I have family stuff busy through the fall and winter but I am going to start planning now never too soon to make it a really good trip I want two weeks. I cannot wait
The other thing to remember is that this is a public road. It was built as a tourist road for the view from the top (hence the name Mt Panorama, tho really its a hill). AND being a public road, it has houses! Have a look at the videos, the gaps in the concrete walls are driveway entrances. 320kph = 200mph. 161 laps, 1000km (621 miles). 2 drivers, they share the driving (one at a time) due to the time. It's about a 6 hour race.
Hey mate, loved your reaction. Bathurst is in New South Wales which is North of Melbourne. October would be a great time to visit Australia, as Bathurst and the Philip Island MotoGP are both in October. Traditionally Bathurst is early to mid-October and Philip Island is late October. Come over for a visit and then we’ll see you again when you decide to move here! 😂
G'day mate, I reckon you'll love the touring car masters. It's a category made up of American and Australian muscle cars from the 60s 70s and 80s. It's got mustangs and camaros going at it with falcon GT, Holden monaro and Holden torana, there's a couple of valiant/ Chrysler hemis. It's awesome to see the old classics at full noise on the mountain
This guy is so cute. With his big hat and rumbling voice he starts with the attitude 'Nothing impresses me!' From about 3:15 , (when his eyelids fly up) he's totally IN! hahaha (He's a Real racer this Occasional Outlaw) Who can avoid being drawn into this tense, battle- serious commentary about racing up and down a dare-devil mountain. (But its actually a public road you can drive your rent-a-car around any day. The answer to your airborne question at 12:30 is 'Yes.' Its why its called 'Conrod straight' because your motor will over rev when its airborne (I saw one V8 tacho stuck on 8500RPM when the motor blew) and put a conrod through the block.) Thanks for your priceless reaction. Australia.
Outside of racedays the circuit is a public road with a low speed limit. When you drive around it at 60KmH it makes you wonder how they do it at the speeds they do. You can drive it in either direction.
Mount Panorama is by far the greatest road course on the earth by far. If you ever come to Australia to experience the Mecca of Australian motorsport you will not be disappointed.
Awesome track, driven it 20+ times. You need to drive it to believe it. They hit 200kpm across the top... 60 was enough for me. To add to that, the Bathurst 1000 used to be mixed class racing. While not being used for racing, there is a 60kph speed limit around the track {to stop idiots like me killing ourselves ...). I set my cruise control on 60 but could only pull 35 going up the cutting . Fun fact: Murray"s Corner was the fastest 90deg corner in the world before they put in the chase to pull the speeds down. Imagine having 80s group C cars on this before the chase went in... they would have smashed 400 before take-off...
The golden era of Bathurst was when the rivalry between the Ford GTHO and the Holden GTR-XU1 which took place in the early nineteen seventies. Both cars were driven by the legends of the sport Alan Moffat drove the GTHO and the GTR-XU1 by Peter Brock. There should be footage on RU-vid.
Wow, thank you! I'm hooked on it it's just in my blood I guess I can't get enough. Thank you for the time and support and your kind words I do appreciate it. I have a lot more this on my list and can't wait to do all of it.
Gidday from an Aussie-Kiwi from New Zealand, just "across the ditch" as we call it, (The Tasman Sea) to the South East of Australia. We Kiwis are also fierce car racers and racing fans of all classes who love the big "Touring Car" racing series, with many Kiwis having raced at Bathurst and won this iconic race. (2 young Kiwis won the race just a week ago by a huge margin! Normally the gap is less than 1 second between First and Second place!) The V8 racing cars, has for decades typically been mainly Ford (blue) against Holden (red) by GM. Sadly, with the demise of the local Australian car market, there are now no more locally made Ford Falcons or Holden Commodores models made. Last year (2022) was the last time at Bathurst for Holden Australia, with the very last of the locally built Holden Commodore race car against the Ford Mustang. Now, it's all "generation 3" US made Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet/GM race cars from the US... Us Kiwis and Aussies will always miss the true Aussie classic series of big V8s. There's many of us car racing fans "down under" who own and drive road sanitised high performance versions of the dozens of V8 racing models made over recent decades. Some are quite collectable now that they are all no longer made. The race is a whole day team effort, and typically the last 40 laps is where the true race tensions really start! Besides the race against the 28 cars on the track and their various teams with team entries, you have to battle track conditions, the weather storms and all it can throw at you, plus the randomness of a wild animal or two getting onto the track. Every race is a lottery of potential carnage with crashes, mechanical breakdowns, engine failures, brake failures, timing the pit stops for fuel range to the race end, tyre changes and blowouts, brake pad and disc changeouts. It's a finely calculated race in those last 40 odd laps! Edge of the seat stuff until the winner crosses the line at the end of Lap 161. Cheers from a V8 "red team" fan, David.
Mount Panorama (Bathurst) is in New South Wales. If you want to drive the entire track you will need to be there about 2 to 3 weeks before the race. Bathurst is classed and a street circuit which means 3 weeks prior to the race they start putting up tyre walls etc. 5 days before the race it is closed to traffic (except local). If people that that is unfair, you should try living in a Adelaide.
The thing with this Track is that TV does not do justice to the elevation changes this track has ... Best race track and Tintop drivers on the Planet ... Awesome
I suggest you take a look at the commentary, by Peter Brock, of a lap of Bathurst during the 1988 Bathurst 1000. You will witness one of the worlds most relaxed race drivers ever.
Such an adrenaline video to watch , I loved your look of amazement on your face watching it Jeff. Bathurst is west of Sydney in New South Wales . Awesome mate , hoping you get to oz sooner than later 😊
Australia has a really strong car culture, the street machine summernats is our premier car show. It runs for about 4 days I think and is famous for its burnout competition. We reckon we're the best in the world at burnouts. I'd love to see your reaction and get your thoughts. Be well mate
Neverr forget that Australia is a massive country. Size of America massive. Bathurst is in New South Wales and is far north of Melbourne which is in Victoria. Maybe about 14 hour drive between with no stops. Lots of winding roads and hills and terrible traffic. Especially on regional roads during peak and holiday times. The entire population lives around the central desert in the middle of the country. Bathurst is in the nice mountainous forrested area's of New South Wales. If you can get to a good elevation and look out, it looks like beautiful rolling hills and the size is deceptive.
Yeah I keep forgetting. So when I get to Australia I will definitely give it a go in the rental might even be worth a speeding ticket but I would not want to disrespect anybody or the country by being silly on that stretch of road. That said I do want to see it for myself. Secretly planning the Australia trip.
The crazy thing about Bathurst that make it so great is that, at the start/finish line by the pits, the sun could be out and at the same time raining on top of the mountain.
I'm a regular attendee of this race, it's an awesome wk away, mark larkham is the best person to listen to when talking supercars, his done it all. His an ex racer, team owner now commentor. Camp sites are always sold out, so you need to meet up with a fan an see if you can share a site
I've watched Bathurst since it was first televised, then married a man who raced it. He took me around the track, topping 200k's, and nothing you see as a spectator can compare to driving it. Would I do it again? Hell yes, but faster.
I love to hear those stories I bet that was fun going around that track. Faster faster. Elizabeth I think you have a little crazy and you. LOL. Thank you for the time and support I appreciate it
Conrod Straight, going straight down the mountain mean the cars get up to 300kph really quickly. It gets its name because back in 1939 in the first race Frank Kleinig's Hudson threw its con-rod. Apparently the con-rod had had enough and wanted to go home and destroyed the engine in the process. 6 of the 7 car racing deaths on the circuit happened on the straight including 1967 Formula 1 World Champion, Denny Hulme, who suffered a heart attack at top speed. Hell Corner got its name because in the early days there was a tree on the inside of the corner and motorcycles rounding the corner would have their helmets just inches from the tree. In addition to 7 car racing deaths, there were 11 motorcycle racing deaths before the circuit was declared too dangerous for bikes to race. Griffin's Bend gets its name from the man who had the vision to build a race track here. He was the mayor of Bathurst, and people said he was crazy to build the track. When people walk the track and discover just how steep parts of it are they tend to agree. Mount Panorama is now the last remaining of the old-time dangerous and difficult street circuits that hasn't been neutered by safety regulations. Yes there have been safety changes over the years, but on a mountainside there is only so much room for a road, and so the fun bits remain.
Wow that was great thank you so much. Well I hope that track remains untouched. I'm coming to Australia within the next year or so and I'm going to stay in Sydney and visit Bathurst
@@OccasionalOutlawit has been changed a bit over the years for safety mainly. It started out as a dirt surface in the thirties. There is some film of the dirt era around. From 1971 some film of Alan Moffatt, multiple winner, give some in car film of the track back then. Conrod longer then but the hilly bits at the fastest part had drivers needing to back off or get too airborne.
My brothers wife's wedding vows included.. " I will not disturb him during Bathurst..." also remember to convert the speed to US miles, 200km is about 124+miles and at the fastest they can hit around 300kms
After so many decades of admiring American motorsport and generally everything USA, its really great to see so many Yankees embracing Australian motorsport. Ps the USA has always been a massive influence on our culture including motorsport. Thanks brother. Liked and subbed.
You guys are crazy. Love the Race and the drivers. This Course is far the best in the world , to me. Oh yeah, the music got me too, Farnsy, Barnsy, I also prospect gold as a hobby, so I love what you all have going on in OZ mate. Thank you for the kind words, take care
Hey mate, Mt Panorama is located in Bathurst NSW, it’s about a 3 hour drive west over the blue mountains from Sydney…Yes the track is a public road for most of the year but is closed from Wednesday on race week…Oh and the track is 3.5 miles, not 2.5…It is as awesome as you think…
I'm a lifelong, 48 year old motorsport lover from the UK 🇬🇧. The Bathurst 1000 is the finest event and the circuit is the finest on the planet. Bar none. The Nordeschlife 24 hours is close though.
see if you can find the footage of Brocky driving in a race speaking to the TV commentators , waving to some friends on mountain straight and driving with one arm resting on the window sill. It speaks to how good he was!!
You'll like Bathurst not only for the race track, but as a gold-seeker, Bathurst was where gold was discovered leading to one of the biggest gold rushes in history.
Hi, it's Michael from Australia here. I grew up in a small Country town about 1 and a half hours from Bathurst. My friend had a Nissan Sports car and we went to Bathurst one day and rode the track. I was 18 at that time. In those days you could drive as fast as you wanted, there were no restrictions then. A bit later you could drive the track but you had to stay on the speed limit.
Man I love these great stories. I am just sitting here imagining when I was 18 and getting to do something like that Bathurst is the craziest track I've ever seen. You blokes built a track on a mountain. Thank you for the support. Be well mate
Bathurst is just one of the races the V8 is run all over Australia we just had the Townsville 400 which is part of it it runs for 3 days it is amazing live if you love racing you will love this and you have multiple choices which to watch or to go to
My man I love the intro with the classic "Moving On" by Missouri. Had the same reaction when I first watched this. It doesn't feel like a track coaching or a drivers brief...it's a damn mission statement to the drivers who race there.
At 7:20 - 25 is the pepsi ford of Chaz Mostert, he broke his leg in that crash, and they showed the onboard frame by frame during the live telecast and you could see when his leg broke, he obviously suffered other more minor injuries and also 2 of the marshals were injured too with just cuts and bruises but it destroyed the marshals post they had. Also, if you didn't know, the V8 Supercars are louder than F1 these days after my experience at the F1 in Melbourne this year.
Ah mate that was fantastic....You were watching this so intensely and I know you felt like you were behind the wheel...lol Even for a non driver like myself lol I wanted to have a drive around the course...um a little slower for me lol. I do hope you get to visit the glorious Great Southern Land and be there for a Bathurst race. Also Bathurst is an old gold mining town.... you might want to invest in a metal detector too. Love your channel Jeff.
Oh Justlinsu lol. That is so incredibly funny that you say that I was just chatting with a fellow Aussie who said I went silent and he could tell that I was lost. I was inside the car trying to imagine the anticipation of those turns and where the entrance and exit would be it's such a skinny track. I am now infatuated with this race. I am going to crack into some of the drivers. From the comments I have an idea of whose son with a great Australian Racers were to deal with this road course. Much respect in Missouri. I appreciate your sport and love the fact that you take time to stop and comment. Can you believe the crazy Australians built a freaking road course on top of a mountain. Bloody insanity. Be well
Oh yes I almost forgot to say I am starting to plan my trip to Australia. I cannot pin down the exact dates for I have two elderly dogs that need care. I will figure it out I'm going to get it done within the next year my plan is to stay in Sydney at hotel and be able to travel the 3 hours to Bathurst and be within other sites and things to visit in Australia. I have a grand writing this because I get really excited thinking about this trip.
@@OccasionalOutlaw Hahah yep must be the convict blood... They were the dare devils and helped build this Nation. We are pretty young in comparison to your Country. Our Island Continent is about the same size as the USA but with a population of just over 26 Million. Besides looking for gold we are rich in Opals too. Just saying lol. 🙃
Hey mate. Bathurst is in New South Wales about 3 hours west of Sydney, you travel through the famous Blue Mountains to get here. If you come to Bathurst you can drive around the track any day of the week as it is a residential road with lookouts ect up top, a goldfields museum on it, and a museum down the bottom, it even has a hotel built on it. I heard you say you like looking for gold as well, if you’re in Bathurst there is a town called Sofala about 45 minutes drive away which is well known for gold hunting, and near there an old historic gold mining town called Hill End which is even better known for it, there is an old famous road from Bathurst to Hill End called The Bridle Track with a lot of camping spots where people go looking for gold as well, and there is still plenty of gold around it’s just a matter of having the luck with finding it. I hope you get to make your trip over. If you need any info just hit me up mate as I’m a Bathurst local and can help you with any information you need.
Chris, thank you mate. I appreciate all of the help and good info. I will looking for you. Oct 2024, one year from now , God willing, I will be there to see it all. I will stay in touch for sure. G'day mate
There's nothing like camping on the mountain for Bathurst. It's an absolute hoot! You'd love it! Hire a car in Sydney and drive to Bathurst. Good gold panning there too. Make sure you get the required permit and know where you can prospect first though. There are strict regulations on gold prospecting in Australia, and be aware that each state has different regulations too! Also keep in mind that a lot of creeks/rivers can dry up in Summer, so make sure it's a time when there's water in them!
From Bathurst to the border of Western Australia is between 2000 and 2500 km's so you were close ;) its a couple of hours drive west Sydney (around 200km's) around a 3 hour drive depending on the trip.
Now that you have gotten through just ONE lap... you have to do it all again another 160 times!!! They don't call the Bathurst 1000 'The Great Race' for no reason!!
Yes I'm going to start diving into some race clips and learning the drivers I have heard in the comments that Peter Brock is the man so I want to have a look. Thank you for your time and support I do appreciate it. Good day.
Bathurst is 100 miles west of Sydney, new South Wales and is on the east coast. It also home of the nsw gold rush, so prospecting is a go. Gold was discovered there by an american called Hargraves, who noticed the hills around Bathurst was similar to the California gold rush, about 1850. Bathurst 1000 is usually 2nd Sunday in October. Cheers Chris
Thanks mate I have been doing some research on all of that stuff and it is a lot of fun and very interesting to me. I've got it on my list for things to do while I'm in australia. Good day.
hi mate im david from gold coast queensland australia i know you love bathurst and racing you have seen this is bathurst but now watch bathurst 2021 mark larkham you cant do it when you see this you will relate to it it puts everything into perspective thanks davo i know its coming a lot late from this post but i just found this and i know you will relate to this mate
Motorcycles used to race at Bathurst every Easter until the concrete walls were put in to protect spectators which made it too dangerous for the bikes. My husband raced bikes there during the mid 1980s which was a huge tick on his bucket list of "must dos".
Can't wait too see you over here. Bathurst is West of Sydney (closest city). Queensland is great for prospecting for Gold (so is outback NSW). Get a 4x4 and take a drive around our amazing country you will love it! You can drive around Mt. Panorama most days in street cars (I think most kids have been around the track a few times on a coach while on school excursions) haha it is great. P.s. When they say "mountains" in Australia it is really like a hill compared to the rest of the world, as Australia has the oldest mountain ranges in the world (they have eroded down to what they are today - which is why you will see so many amazing "gorges" in the outback.
Mount Panorama is in the town of Bathurst, located at an approximate 3 hour drive west of Sydney, Australia. Yes is possible to drive a personal vehicle (or rental) on the circuit while there is not any festivities taking place, it is free entry as it is a public road, however the speed limit is strictly 60kph and there are fixed and mobile speed cameras that will issue fines to anyone that does not adhere to the limits.
I live in Bathurst and when my friends visit, I dare them to drive the whole track at the legal speed limit, no faster (obviously) but no slower. No one has come back and said they did every corner at 60kph (37mph). TV does not come close to conveying just how technical the track is. The length doesn't matter, how wide it is doesn't matter but how complex the corners are, oh, that matters.
I’ve watched a few of This is Bathurst reactions clips and this one is the best. Your reaction is awesome. The circuit is a public road when not being used for race meets. I think there are 6 races a year there. We drove around it in a mini van. It’s so steep. When are you travelling to Aus? Happy to show my local pub. Keep up the awesome videos Mate.
Bathurst is awesome man craziest track I've ever seen. Thank you for the kind words and the offer for when I come to Australia I appreciate that. Take care mate
Lots of comments so I doubt I can add anything new but I would like to emphasize one thing: If you do make it out here to Australia you have to drive the circuit. Until you've done so you don't realize just how incredible it is that they do the speeds they do.
The Bathurst 1000 will take 6 hours plus to complete, and the drivers have to complete 161 laps of the circuit; such is the sheer distance, that each has two driver who change several times during the race. This is on of the only races, that is part of the Supercars Championship Series, that two drivers are used; at all other times, there is only one driver to each car. Drivers can lose kgs in weight during this race, so they have to remember to hydrate during their breaks; it taxes you, both mentally and physically.
You can find lots of in car footage of drivers doing a solo lap , this is the best way to experience the elevation extremes , and obviously practise and qualifying laps on the 3 days offer plenty of disc brake and suspension footage while they race .
West of Sydney, Bathurst is gold rush country, research sofala and hill end , the pub there accepts gold over the bar , the race is in October ,you can drive the race track, it's scary at 60 kph ,it demands respect, best of luck
You can prospect for gold in many places around bathurst. It was once one of the richest places in Australia for gold. The largest nugget found in Australia was not far from here
