I had an uncle who was severely wounded during WWII,and only on his deathbed, reveled some of the horrific things he experienced. But even as a child, and without him ever speaking about the war, I could tell that when we visited, there was something off about him? Only decades later, when he told his stories, did it become crystal clear why he was the way he was!

@@debbiefitzpatrick3872 my dad died in 1990...us baby boomers are getting up there...I am 64..and my mom had me when she was 35.....my dad was 70 when he died...my mom was 97...the women outlive the men in our family...I never married...I stayed with my mom..and took care of her the rest of her life...miss them both badly. I have an older brother who is 13 yrs older than me and is a VN vet.

Part of the problem is that until the mid-1960s, black people were not treated fully as people in most places in the US. Forgiveness for ancestral oppression comes hard. Thank you, I think this was the best of your shows I have had the privilege of seeing. My family came to America during the depression and knew full well what was at stake. We Thank God our losses were light, but they were changed forever. They were hardened, and lacked a full range of emotions. My father was in Korea, my uncles were in WW I I, Korea, and so on. Your show brought me back to some memories, and some tears. I thank you for bringing some hope, and humanity to my soul. My Uncle was in Army Air Corp. He did alot of nose art. He also was contacted by Disney. Grandad was a farmer, and wanted him back on the farm. My uncle became an architect. He designed a prison. He also was also a Boy Scout leader. Some of his Eagle Scouts were still visiting him in his 80s. He also came home with shaking hands, however, when his pencil on the drawing board his hand was steady. He taught alot. Thanks, Mark, for sharing.

My dad was on the California when the Japanese military attacked. He lost his three best friends that day. Ball, Saffel, Hildebrand. I found their names on the memorial when I visited Pearl.

My Dad served in Korea too. Marines. He was a sniper. And the Marine corp stayed within him his whole life. We lived under Devil Dog rules! My mom still has Dad's old photo book. It's old and some ripped or torn now from time. But I remember he said they were all his brothers. They were very brave and Dad and all of those who fought are my heroes. My father and two of my uncles were in the Navy. My father was a radar man and after the war he went to MIT on the GI bill and became an engineer. My uncle became a minister in the Four Square church my other uncle stayed in the Navy for 30 yrs

My Uncle Dickey was a brave "M"arine. He fought in World War II. My 'Father was in the "A"rmy. He bravely fought there too. My Uncle Johnny and Brother Jessie were "N"avy brave and true. (M.A.N.) am I forever proud to be a member of their family too.

Thank you sir we all need to remember those that served. My Dad lied to join the Navy at barely 17 .I have a picture of him and numerous other’s after Pearl Harbor that joined . He served in the Pacific 4 years. He loved this country he and my grandfather had a farm and if a plane came over to low he would dive off the tractor to hit the deck. I miss him greatly but I also thank the Lord he’s not here to see the deliberate destruction of this country. I’m 72 and heartbroken to see what America has become. Thank you so much Mr.Levin for caring to bring us the truth. Stay strong sir. Praying for us all.🙏🏻

I am 62 years old. I graduated from RHS in 1980 and I say that only in reference to my post. My High School Principal was Mr. Thomas Hagy. He was there when they stormed the beaches of Normandy, D-Day. During my U.S. History Class on the anniversary of D-Day he came to our classroom and told us all about what happened. I was honored to have known this great man. We owe them all a debt of respect and gratitude for what they did that day for our Country. We owe all our Men and Women of the Armed Forces our respect. My own son is a Veteran. I might know them all but I owe them all for my freedom. God Bless the U.S. Military. Thank you all for your service.
