It's crazy he was this funny 11 YEARS AGO and he's just now become very successful. The grind of a comedian sounds romantic when they talk about it but it must be devastating to know you have this amount of talent and you're nowhere. That's why I always respect the dedication.
It is crazy that there are comedians that actually tough it out this long. Like he already had the skill/knowledge/humour to be a top level comedian 11years ago
I think thats what a lot of people dont get about comedians, the ones who made it to mainstream dedicated their adult life to the craft. Often times when they go on morning shows or other forums where the interviewer has no idea who the comedian is they talk down to them like the comedian walked in to a joke book and found success
@@simonyricools and he's at the bottom level. The only level below this is being an open micer or feature act. It's "nowhere" near where he is ELEVEN years later.
he isn't... he's touring the world opening for Amy Schumer, has a super popular podcast called Tuesdays with Stories! with Joe List, and I think he's recording a special in October this year. He's amazing!
@ you're right, he has 2 cats. 1 human cat and 1 regular cat, He's a good guy tho. Got to know him over a chicken and a couple of beers. A real good egg.
This is my favourite Mark Normand video ever. Literally! I love the joke writing. It's like he barely uses taglines because the punchlines are so good. Which reminds me of Norm Mac Donald in a way who I know is a major influence of Mark. The material felt edgy without feeling mean-hearted, too far that it would insult people, or overly dark. Yet he did some crazy racist bits that I know many comedians would fail at. Unbelievable joke writing and excellent delivery. Even when the women woo'd to him having problems in his relationship, the facial expression while asking for a threesome, and ten getting no response, was such great crowdwork, yet Mark never relies on it because the actual jokes are just better. It's the confidence he gets in his material being so awesome that Mark doesn't rely on crowd-work. I love this video so much, I think it's literally my favourite shorter set of all time. Darker than you can go on late night TV so you get the better jokes overall, too. Does anyone have any other Mark videos or even other comic's videos with sets as unbelievable as this one?
I could totally see him as a voice actor in an adult animated show like Bojack, bobs burgers, Rick and Morty or f is for family. I think he would be perfect for it
The classic 10 second comic. Mark Normand is the old school comic that packs an hour of laughs into 15 minutes. Mainstream or not, he's a goddamn legend.
@@JohnStockton7459 and no, If you continue to laugh for hours throughout the day after a sketch of comedy that didn’t take an hour to watch, that would be considered “an hour of laughs” or more in that case
I'm so glad I found Mark Normand. He is freakin' hilarious! I see so many comics on RU-vid, and most are disappointing, but Mark is very funny in every video I've seen. A total natural.
This set was perfect. That “he’s a good guy though” call back was really good. Mark Normand should be talked about and paid with the likes of Burr, Chapelle and anyone else at the top.
Mark used to take his time to deliver jokes back in the day, allowing folks to laugh. I just feel he goes much faster now.....if he slows down, he will be the best comic of the 21st century cuz his content if FIRE!
The joke about kids hating a certain group of people became sort of a staple in his act lol. I've been seeing some of his stuff lately and it stayed pretty much the same all these years, kinda cool. And this little set is awesome btw.
Don't know why this popped up onto my feed 10 years later, but MN is one of the Goats and he's so young, I'm so glad that he followed his dreams and that he's made the world laugh so much these last two years
Good to see he reuses his material. I can’t complain, that’s why I listen to the same songs even though ive heard them a thousand times. Hey it’s good.

I actually laughed out loud which is rare, so excellent job you have a new fan, I'm going to check out more of your videos. For me the restaurant names were too hilarious
Seeing this now is like watching my son make crafts outta clay... I've heard many of theses jokes on Pandora, but seeing you work your craft...this was cool man.
You should call Kevin, Mark. This is 9 years old. Way before Hart blew up and Mark is a old school comic and joke writer. Guaranteed if they have similar jokes or premises its because Kevin seen this guy in New York, when he would come from Philly to get sets back n the day. Mark is 100 percent in it for the art, not like some people that got huge then forgot all about his comedian friends... unlike Sandler who still looks out for his.
