Great advice from Mark. He wasn’t just joking around. Which should be appreciated by comedians who are looking to improve their craft. Interviewer isn’t great. Wasn’t on his toes and didn’t seem interested in Mark’s answers. Was looking for one liners it seems.

Sober two years to the day. The older you get, the less time you have, the more booze costs you. Not worth it.

Mark your emphasis on writing at the very beginning of the things that you say to tell comedians what to do but you spend more time talking about delivering the Act and the live performance but it all starts with writing. Everyday we go to that little white room like with neo where he learns about the matrix. Our imaginations are filled with our memories and or a priority sensation but very few of us can just block all that out and create a white room. This is spatial intelligence it's a writing room where you can create reality that doesn't exist in this reality. Bard of the population doesn't have the ability to even do this. Only people with high developed spatial intelligence can do this. Meaning there's a lot of people when you talk about using your imagination they know what you're talking about but they have no idea what you mean. But the problem with this room is it doesn't exist in reality and the only way to capture it is with words and symbols and pictures or art. Writing is the chief art that you deploy to capture these things to bring them from the ineffable to the affable. You are quite The talented wordsmith I really appreciate it soup to nuts. The writing process is the Hallmark of every good comedian. When you listen to people like Seinfeld and Burr and others they all emphasize the writing and how it has to be done every day whether you want to or not.

Mark quit booze completely , with a brain like yours all its doing is holding you back.
