This guy is a fighter pilot, a thunderbird, an airline pilot, a NASA advisor, has 3 masters degrees, and is an elite UFC referee. He should change his name to René Sance.
Speaking as an ex USAF fighter crew chief I can assure you that if you don't tell fighter pilots how great they are about every 10 min they go into a spiral of depression.
Can we stop with the “he’s so well spoken” talk. He’s very educated, a fighter pilot who was trusted with some of the most expensive military tech in the world. What did you expect? Dolemite?
It's not really about education. That's just what military training/lifestyle does to a lot of people who work on or fly aircraft. You're concise, specific, and talk fast.
@@MyronMagnus Doesn’t surprise me at all, it has nothing to do with his credentials, it’s how he explains things that makes non-pilots like me understand what it’s like to be a military jet pilot.
Jaime pulled up that B-2 with escorts so quickly, let the picture sit for 30-40 seconds for them to talk about it, then pulled it down as their attention began moving away to allow the conversation to transition back and flow again smoothly. Young Jaime is truly the best in the game.
Agree in this case, but Jamie pulling up images is often destructive for the flow of the conversation, many times to the point of unbearable since it will totally shift the dialog from something interesting to something random, changing the topic completely when the guest was delivering some story/anecdote/information. Yes it can also keep the conversation more dynamic etcetera.
So refreshing to see an intresting, intelligent, professional, nice guest on JRE. Will actually wacht the whole thing on spotify for the first in a long time. Maybe things start to get better.
@@emilio2647 - Yes, Spotify has video. The only downside compared to RU-vid is that you don’t get to read comments while you’re listening to it which, for me, is a pretty big thing. It’s a big drawback to Spotify compared to RU-vid. But these days RU-vid censorship means they suck a$$ so I’m a little torn.
I'm an AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) in Canada and it's very refreshing to hear someone talk about aviation and to recognize the unsung heroes of aviation The Maintainers the men and women whom look after aircraft.
@@chefawkes He's easy to understand. He broke things down to the point where any idiot could understand. So he spoke well on the subject and was able to articulate all the important details in a way that was easy for the average person to digest.
He is certainly articulate. I just think it's sad people find that remarkable. The OP even found it necessary to mention how this man is "educated". lol, like why wouldn't he be?
This was really interesting. My dad was a fighter pilot (navy). He was a state champion wrestler in college. 6' 170lbs. Probably was a cocky guy. Killed in service ("routine training accident") at 30, so I don't remember him. But it's cool imagining what he did.
Thats horrific. My dad was a fighter pilot for the Luftwaffe (Tornado ECR) and he flew in Kosovo in '99. I was born in 2000, sometimes I wonder where I'd be if he hadn't made it home... may ur father rest in peace

@@garrymiles607 i never set a specific date..if you understand eschatology we are in that time frame. Prophectic timeline revolves around nation of Israel. They are building the 3rd temple in Jerusalem for their "messiah" aka antichrist as we speak. Countdown for jesus return kicked off when israel became a nation in 1948 after the jews were scattered and exiled from their nation for thousands of years. Jesus spoke of the "figtree generation" which will be the generation to witness the coming of jesus christ the true messiah. When israel became a nation again 1948 it fulfilled the prophecy in old testament of jews returning home to the holy land of israel after exile. A generation in the bible is 70-80 yrs. We are in that timeframe. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life was air strike missions in Afghanistan while actively engaged on the ground and most people don’t know but because of the very odd terrain in Afghanistan those bombers fly extremely low where you can almost feel the sonic boom and it is fucking something from a different dimension witnessing it in real life.
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261 it’s a figure of speech not literal. Sonic boom is just the words that came to mind trying to describe the literally physical and audio blast from what seems like god himself when they fly past extremely low.
As a former Army Ranger and Special Forces Operator I can tell you that Air Force Pilots saved my team’s asses more times than I can count! Always confidence inspiring to know we had CAS above. Hats off to you boys!!! Sua Sponte...
@@worlds_okayest_pilot You know this how? Because you wanted to be a Ranger but couldn’t pass RASP. Lol, which Battalion were you in, since you know me so well. I spent 3 years briefing F-16 pilots at Hill AFB in the 34th Fighter Squadron. A lot of pilots are cocky, but we need these types of dudes flying (and women - we didn't have any in our squadron, but sister squadrons did). I deployed with the 34th to Kuwait in 98 (Operation Desert Fox). I have mad respect for these guys. My incentive flight was at Luke AFB and my pilot grabbed a cheeseburger and coke before flight. I tried doing the same and I threw it all up on the negative G dive. We flew around for an hour and I was exhausted. This was just the start of the day for these guys. I was spent and needed a nap. Fun times though. We pulled 7.5G's and did BFM over Arizona.
Anti-gravity: Element 115...? First mentioned by Bob Lazar in the late 80s... "In 2004, scientists from the United States and Russia first reported the discovery of element 115." - Google You probably already know this, but I wanted to salute Bob for the reveal either way.
@@RotaryD9750 dawg predicting it isn’t a feat lol, if you understood the periodic table it was inevitable we’d get to that atomic #. Now if we find a stable isotope I’ll give bob 10000% credit, as I want to believe his story, but until then call me doubting Thomas until I see something tangible.
Dude, I was on the same boat. But as a delivery driver, or anyone who drives a lot its worth the hassle. And yes its free with maybe a 15 sec ad here and there.
It’s actually not a fighting shirt, as an aggressor pilot his current job is to be an adversary against other pilots. When they’re setting up for a training dogfight one of the final things that said before it starts is 3, 2, 1, FIGHTS ON and then the dogfight begins. Look up C. W. Lemoine, He’s a former F 16 and F 18 fighter pilot who is also an aggressor pilot and the intro to his videos has that being said over the radio
As a USAF Air Traffic Controller that worked at Nellis for 5 years, this is super cool to watch. It's cool to get the perspective of a pilot that flew at Nellis and participated in the training exercises we supported.
As a maintainer I appreciate the recognition for the unsung heroes of military aviation Most people are unaware of how much maintenance time is expended for each hour of flight
This guy is an absolute huge inspiration to me. I'm not a fighter pilot lol. But, I'm a retired Firefighter with major aspirations to become a UFC ref. Thanks for your service Mark! And thank you for being such an inspiration!
Joe, interview with Dr. Mike Mew, he discovered MEWING, it is a habit that makes you more attractive (at the bone level) in about 3 years, it consists of pushing the tongue against the palate to expand it and thus your jaw is marked, Your upper jaw is advanced (avoiding a flat face) and your chin is advanced (because with your tongue you direct facial growth forward). His channel is called ORTHOTROPICS, there is a video that explains more details about this called "attractive face or not"
I work on refuelers. It is the coolest thing seeing fighters come up out of the clouds and flying right beside the wing tips. I've seen all kinds of aircraft get refueled dozens of times and I still am at awe.
Pre 9-11 I was invited by my buddy in the Ca Air Guard to attend “Bosses Day”. Kid u not they never checked my ID and the next thing you know I’m airborne in the 707 tanker (KC-135?) over Mammoth refueling F-16s. I got to lay down next to a beautiful gal who was doing the refueling. Surreal. The planes were so close I felt like I could touch them. Extremely cool experience.
What he said about staying in shape to sustain the G-strain, over an extended period, made me immediately think of that F-16 pilot dodging like 8 SAMS one after the other. There is no option to pause or rest. You keep going, and your body keeps up, or you die.
Yeah. Buy dad flies with a guy who he's dogfight a couple of times, who dodged 6 SAMS Ina similar fashion before being shot down over Kosovo. He was also flying an F 16. My dad flew the F 18 in the marines, so thankfully he never saw combat, but it's crazy to hear even his stories. he now flies red air for the Air Force.
He wasn't just a fighter pilot like everyone here is amazed at. He a was member of the Thunder birds. The guy was an elite pilot. Best of the best. It seems many people don't know about the Thunder Birds,..especially when the Navy's Blue Angels are more popular.
Just because you’re a Thunderbird pilot, does not automatically mean you’re the best of the best. There’s not really tiers to being an F-16 pilot. Qualifications, training, staying current on sorties, etc all the same. Most people who really know, would agree with me and say that having the ability to fire AIM9-X missiles at a potential threat is much more nerve wracking than doing flyover maneuvers for a crowd.
John Boyd (credited for the F16 along with his theory on energy maneuverability etc) would say blue angel / thunderbird pilots don’t have shit on real Aces ;)
You mean elite in training? They haven’t fought ONCE. Dropping little white dots dead with tomahawks from 20KM in the sky is the easiest thing in the world.
The “I can’t confirm or deny” part got me. My dad was also a fighter pilot and did contracting work for the USAF and NSA, and during some movies that had government conspiracy stuff, he’d have to leave the room cause he knew we were all about to ask him if it was true
Kinda implies they were true and he didn't wanna lie to his family.......Or he was just bloody sick of no one believing him when he said no that's ridiculous. If he denies it they still think it's true and if he confirms it they're like, I knew it. He can't win either way mate 🤷♂😂😂
I was told about an "old war story" many times from a relative in the joint task force. They weren't around for the cold war (after) but I was told we were one keyturn (takes 2) away from ww3 because of bad intel. I never looked it up, but, I trust the person and the next day after they told me drunk, they said, "I probably shouldnt have told ya that." But once they told me I was their outlet, and heard it a few more times in that state. Apparently they were given the order, but 1 didnt turn the key. They said, "it didn't feel right." As they were getting their ass chewed, info came in it was actually a false alarm. I got into a discussion woth another recently...and I was like wait, is this guy right? You can look it up. We almost launched fighters with nukes and missiles (edit:with nukes) for a bear downing a fence. Ffs, America is scary.
I was glued the entire time. Even though I work as an aerospace engineer, constantly researching about fighter aircraft, stealth, weapons, design, performance, etc. So I pretty much knew all of what he was talking about, not trying to sound too wise. But my point is that he still had me listening like a little kid hearing their fav story. He’s got a talent for explaining things in a very illustrious manner.

@@dannyroberts8822 In my honest opinion, I'd bet on the F22. Simply because it has more stealth than the Typhoon. It also has greater weapons storage (internal bay plus optional hardpoints). In other areas such as ceiling, mach, range; both fighters more or less match up, Eurofighter's got superior combat radius. Though there's a reason why the Raptor isn't approved for export to foreign militaries, compared to Typhoon, cus it holds secrets the US DoD doesn't want other air forces around the world to know.. They are nuts. I grew up in the shadow of SAC/Offutt Air Force Base, & always loved seeing the varied planes flying around while I was doing yard work as a kid as they led up to the annual airshow. I was actually mowing the lawn back in the early-mid 90's when I first saw the stealth bomber. I watched it bank and practically disappear as the profile is so slim. On one hand I hate the large fortune we spend on our military but on the other hand I am glad we are the ones with these incredible weapons.
