During a trip down I-44 out in St. Louis county, I decided to stop by this highway-side gas station and check out what was hiding in the car wash bay. It turned out to be a newer Mark VII Softwash XT. I really wanted to like this one, but it did a poor job cleaning the front of the car (brush barely touched it). Hopefully that's just a fluke.

I have one at a Circle K and Shell Gas Station with the same Carwash. I have been there twice and I love it.

Euro-style 3-touch systems typically perform very well but are slower that US-style 5-touch ones. The SoftWash XT's "sister" machine (WashTec SoftCare 2) is extremely popular in Europe and typically provides a high quality result. I noticed the friction passes in this wash program were unusually fast compared to what other SoftWash XT owners typically use. This probably explains the poor front cleaning job.

would be cool if Mark VII makes a 5 brush system like Ryko, Nu Star, Baywash and Freestyler makes.

The local chevron gas station near my house has a mark 7 Hybrid which you can choose from soft touch to Touchless. 2 different menu options for both. Best part is that the regular and top wash for both Touchless and soft touch is $5. I always pick the top wash which is the ultimate. I haven't tried the Touchless option. But next time I go I will, plus I'll record.

+Chad Rodick Wow, that's cheap! The Chevron near me has the exact same wash (Mark VII ChoiceWash XT) but the top wash is $11.99 +Tax :( But, it's still the cheapest wash around, much better than the pathetic $12 for A BASIC WASH (which is the same wash as Chevron, just $4 more) @ Washworld

There is a brand new Gas Station in Chino, CA. with this same system and setup, my Dad would take me to that Car Wash a lot. PDQ is my Favorite Car Wash Manufacturer right next to Ryko and Mark VII. Keep Producing These kinds of videos. I've been watching your Car Wash Videos since i was 10 Years Old! (and I'm 14 now).

3-Brush systems like this are extremely popular outside the US. Sometimes you do get one or two that aren't very good, but usually they're brilliant....

What I love about the Mark VII soft wash systems is that their top brush approaches you in both directions.

We have Circle Ks here. (All of them were formerly Tiger Mart) and the sodas were $0.89. I think the prices range from $0.69 to $0.99 based on location. Unfortunately, all of our Circle Ks got bought out by a company called A Plus, and the gas is going from Exxon to Sunoco. Great video though.

+M. R. Newton Are you referring to the one across from the Steak & Shake? It has already been converted, and I think the wash has been rehabilitated if not completely replaced.

Theres a Mark Vii Softwash XT at RG Car Wash in Coatesville, Pennsylvania and it does a great job washing my dads SUV. It also has The Rare Air Blade Dryers.

According to the wash graphic, you only get a spot free rinse if you buy the ultimate wash. I hope that’s just a mistake.

Have you heard anything about the carwash at the BP station at Lindbergh and Ladue? I drive by it on occasion, and it always seems to be in use. I am not sure if that is more because of its convenient location or it just being a good system.

+WindowSeatFlyer Funny you mention that. I stopped by when I was in the area a year or two ago and it was broken. Haven't been by there since. I'll try to check it out next time I'm out in west county.

if you have an antenna in the front, the top brush may sense your antenna and will go up then come back down.

It seems like these systems do not do a very good job of mantainig contact with the car. They seem too intent on making as little contact as possible, so they don't apply enough pressure and thus don't do a good job.

Those systems really suck. I'v always had a bad experience with these systems. The ones i'v been to either used to much touch or to less touch. Never really dose the job good.
