The sad thing, and the excellent writing here? Mad respect for Anissa at this point in the story. For various reasons a justifiably proud, competent warrior was handed a diplomats job she wasn't properly trained for, had zero aptitude for, but she put the work in for. She studied human culture, world events, researched her target. She presented a coherent and logical argument. For a viltrumite she was incredibly restrained. If this is where things ended, I would have loved her as a character.

Writers are honestly in a shitty situation with this one. If they censore the scene, they will get hate from the fans, but if they stay true to the original it's likely that Prime Video will be angry and some fans will be upset.

I have no idea why people are so mad about that particular scene compared to others. The show is filled to the brim with dark themes. The show is meant to be graphic. Sure, some people have actual trauma getting SA'd, but if you didn't wanna trigger trauma if any kind, why on Earth are you watching a show like Invincible? That makes about as much sense as watching The Boys and expecting not to get weirded out from time to time.

Rex becoming the new leader of the Guardians is PERFECT! From being someone who ridiculously self proclaims himself to be the leader when the other Guardians are away to someone who steps up to the task and takes all the justified responsibility of actually being the leader. That would be awesome.

I’m going to take a guess and say Rudy is going to do some seriously dark shit at some point. He’s been shown as obsessed with having control over anything he sees as weakness, he even tries to cut out his own fear response. I imagine if something happens to monster girl he’ll end up going ape shit, he could even cut out his own empathy to make himself more focussed and pragmatic like Cecil, who he parallels as a character in terms of pragmatism. I think it would be interesting if he cycles back around to being a “robot” by literally cutting out his emotions over time because he thinks it needs “fixing”.

I've loved watching Mark and Amber try with full earnest and fail. We all knew it would happen, but I wanted to see it, to explore the challenges of heroes dating non-heroes. I wanted to see these two people who are both sacrificially altruistic give it a go and have it fail, not because they're bad people or because they don't have chemistry, but because the circumstances just don't work out. I think we need to remember every so often that break-ups don't always happen because somebody's bad. Sometimes you're just on different paths in life.

Think it's not just a case he's a superhero but the situation Mark is in is way beyond most superheroes. Their JLA got murdered leaving their planet a lot weaker, Mark's own species are space conquerers so he has an obligation there. So think if the circumstances weren't as bad as they are their relationship could have survived. Just glad they handled the breakup relatively well with no one being the bad guy. Sometimes the circumstance just evolve way out of your control.

i think it should definitely be shown. throughout the rest of the comics after that scene, his interactions with her are completely tainted and it even plays a large role in causing a rift between mark and eve. i do get that it’s a bit uncomfortable, but considering the violence we’ve already seen in the show i think most should accept that worse is to come.

When I saw how slow he was reacting to her, I said he needs to link up with Goku in the gym. This man has refused to practice and train for a moment like this, and he was already told that this and worse was going to happen by his father Prior to him being taken away. Get it together, oh my God, Mark. Also glad his girl ended it and even more, was mature enough to ask the question to begin with; “is this going to work and how?” I also think it’s terrible that both of them saw themselves as not doing enough. I feel like that is definitely something people struggle with, and to see it approached in this manner with this dynamic of a relationship is called to see.

Personally I think because of how sensitive the world is now they aren't going to do it but rather they're going to make a new scene that still makes sense to the Lore where Mark goes through something equally as tragic ,my main theory is that maybe the TV show version of Amber is going to die because she wasn't all that important in the comic when she was no longer a focus

Great Video! I do feel like you kinda glossed over Allen's new strength though. He got Anissa bleeding with one punch and she literally did 0 damage to him. He is strong as hell and that plot line is gonna be hopefully very cool to watch assuming they expand on it either next episode or in season 3.

I wasn’t expecting shadow the hedgehog music but im so here for it. Also Anissa is the damn hero we didn’t deserve finally they break up. I would not buy there relationship for a moment after the shit she pulled season 1. They really did a a horrible job trying to get us invested. I could even believe eve and rex if that happened because we see rex change on screen amber just does a 360 for no reason with no explanation.

If they completly cut Mark's sexual assault, that would be so cringe. We rarely if at all get a serious exploration of men being raped by women in any media that is not played out as a joke, while comic maybe didn't handle it in the best way, it had it's moments and reflected well on how this topic is perceived in society when Eve doubts wether Mark was willing participant or not when he confesses to her.

I hear folks say "super hero fatigue". I just laugh and say, no. Thats not a thing. Its bad Super hero fatigue. I dont think the break in Invincibles season was an accident or a mistake. Notice how many other super hero properties are out just now ? Theres nothing "outshining" it or more realistically, making such an awful stink, it gets drowned out. Invincible is easily one of the best shows in production today. The shows only weaknesses are its horrendous production cycle and having to leave parts of the comics out for folks who are not fans of the genre itself.
