Really think so? Because imo there were too many "what if" and future questions, nobody can really answer. Nothing really gained from those questions. More interesting would have been why Llama-3 is better, what did they do for achieving it, does "open-source" for Meta also revealing their data sets etc.; I don't think this interview was so interesting.
Zuck seems to always try and be calculated on camera, and I’m glad to see him finally start being more relaxed and comfortable. Love this new light Mark ❤
Hearing about Meta's approach to open sourcing infrastructure (more broadly than AI) was very interesting. Going by 01:05:36, it seems that Zuck himself is quite involved in that strategy.
God do I just love the Zuck. Best CEO in tech in my opinion, and all that while Meta / Facebook was one of the most hated companies on earth. Hats off to you Mark!
Dwarkesh is just so chill interviewing these owner of tech giants and working professionals in th software industry . Any other interviewer would just react like a child being excited but dwarkesh is just to calm and knows how to do his job . A Big applause !!
The wildest analysis that is needed is what will be the ultimate size of the AI market, how will it segment - what % will be tools that people customise v SaaS ; how will the end user interact with AI.
The introduction of a Bitcoin ETF marks a groundbreaking moment in the cryptocurrency world, merging digital currencies with traditional investment methods. This innovation could stabilize Bitcoin prices and broaden its appeal to a wider range of investors, potentially increasing demand and value. At the heart of this evolution is Sarah Jennie Davis, whose deep understanding of both cryptocurrency and traditional trading has been instrumental. Her holistic approach to investment and commitment to staying abreast of market trends make her an invaluable ally in navigating this new era in cryptocurrency investment
When I say testimonies all over the place I thought it was all made up stories till I was convinced and gave her a try and honesty I don't regret the move I made because I invested in a big way
Is it me or The Zuck is like living his second youth, he's only missing an ear expansion, he even has some weird rizz here. Guys don't be Fooled, AGI is already here, there's no way the Zuck looks this human without an Upgrade
I think Facebook sucked his soul out by being a mature platform. It was not a passion project anymore, and it was just finding ways to exploit the user for more profit. AI is a new field that allowed him to find his interest again. Just go make things and see where it leads you.
Seriously excellent work getting Zuck…nobody gets Zuck! Very insightful as well, let alone you got him one-on-one for over an hour. Makes Zuck seem more human, definitely gave me a diff perspective on who Zuck is. Congrats
Im glad there is another interviewer for these big people. I appreciated the other guy, but he's so sleepy and self important With this one i can listen at original speed without skipping
That's so great that Mark is making Llama open source. AI is such a potent tool and it's going to displace so many jobs, that the right thing to do is to make it open source so that everyone benefits from it, not only large corporations with money. Thank you Mark. And, if everyone has it, there is less potential that a large actor will make bad use of it, so that the good overpowers the bad, just like the spread of the internet
For the very advanced AI’s likely coming within the next few years, there are severe problems with both the closed source and open source approaches. We need additional options.
That AI replacing developers question really threw Zuck... he was doing a quick calculation of how much his next words would affect Meta's share price. Talk about pressure! 🤪
Open sourcing the code is a nice gesture. However, creating and operating these systems is so costly that only the largest multinationals and nation-states can afford it. It's not like starting HP in a garage or Amazon in a spare bedroom, Facebook in a dorm room, etc.
Two questions I'd have asked - why no cloud service? what do you think about Groq LPU since inference to service the large userbase is 80% of his compute use.
yeah i wouldn't expect Llama 3 from the same fuckerberg that gave us facebook, being a globohomo elite, but he's actually doing things i respect now. Oh and all the drama with musk nearly made me respect him then.
The argument for FOSS AI is analogous to the argument pro gun access (regardless of if one agrees with one or the other). If Z is powerful and potentially dangerous, it's safer if everyone has access to Z than if this power is concentrated on the hands of a few.
