Just discovered your channel. This video is golden for any gardening/farming enthousiast, chock full of highly valuable information. Awesome stuff Moreno!
I’m starting to be farmer , this Vedio is leading me to the properly direct way! Love you for your value knowledge and sharing experiences. Hope to seeing you one in Thailand.
He is great. I also recommend channels like Epic Gardening, Self Sufficient Me, Charles Dowding, and Urban Farmer Curtis Stone. There are so many more, but I suspect the RU-vid algorithm will take you through them as you go. 😂
@@canwenot573 All I have seen so far are men as the main person running the farm. I need to learn from a women's point of view running the farm. I do think that anyone can do this but it does help to get tips from women's point of view as what works for men may not exactly work for women. I am in my 50's and petit...so for me to use some of these tools, bending, etc...will eventually will wear me out, mentally I am 20's but physically...well, anyway...lol. It would really help to get some women's perspective on the concept of market gardening for small farmer. Thanks.
Thank you for all the knowledge you share so honestly and in so much detail. I have been watching all your videos because we are planning to set up our farm - and your business advice is priceless! God bless you, your farm and your family.
I am a home gardener. Just came across your videos and was really impressed by the clean, clear and 'to the point' information with no fuss. Thank you for sharing. Subscribe your channel.
Really inspirational, I'm about to get my own small farm in a couple of weeks and after renovation I will start gardening. Your videos are great! I learn a lot from them. Love from Sweden!!!
Fantastic video,I don't have a market garden but do a lot of vegetable and flower gardening and found quite a few helpful tips. Your area looks absolutely beautiful I can see that you have put a lot of work into restoring your farm. I am always humbled when growers like yourself take time out of their busy schedules to help gardeners like me. Thank so much.
I always watch all your videos repeatedly.Developing Musumi Fresh Farms but I hope I overcome water challenge.Moreno you are my Hero from France to Portugal.
Nicely done. I like your approach to systematize the process as much as possible. Couldn't help but notice the coincidence of "Market Garden" by a Dutchman (reference to WWII battle). Thank you.

Hi Moreno! New sub, I am overwhelmed by your gardening techniques you have learned your lessons very well! It's exciting to watch, learn your talents! My 24'x58' is a bed of rocks here in Washington state left by glaciers from Mt. Rainier. I have picked so many rocks it actually lowered the original height of garden bed. Yet I have had successful crops, this is my second year. Now the moles need to be removed! Always something going after my vegetables! I use natural Neem oil and natural dish soap. Still I cannot grow any brassicas they go to seed garden soil gets so hot(rocks) or white moths lay there eggs. Same with growing corn, rats from neighbor farms climb stalks and eat the kernels. Rocks really increase the soil temp and seeds won't sprout. But it's all fun and gardening becomes a habit that I enjoy. Thank You Again Moreno for such great videos!
🙋hello new subscriber here from Philippines. Wanted to start a small farm but know nothing about planting 😂 I'm so gratefulful that I found and learn a lot from this channel of urs. 😊
Great content. Quite amazed I have not been recommended here earlier, being a serial watcher of the likes of Dowding, Richards, Perkins and the various american guys doing similar stuff. Grabbed my book, some more motivation to grind out a few years more to collect the capital to start out.
I just found your channel and fascinated watching till late night (or morning ;) ) Thank you for sharing your experience. Your farm looks very nice. I love your "simply" tools.
You have inspired me. In three years, I will do organic farm in our country where my family owns 20.888 aces R3 Land. Great and informative presentation! I have read books alots, too. Whenever I have time for RU-vid, I am always watching yours. :-) Kudo , Bro.
I have recently started watching your RU-vid channel. I am really impressed by the simplicity of your tutorials material, which makes it very easy for a beginner like to understand the basics and move towards the dream. Definitely you have all that knowledge because of your hard work that you have put in during your life as farmer. Best of luck and prayers for success of your project in Portugal. 👌👍
Thank you for sharing the tip about laying down cardboard in the fall. I was about to make that mistake you all made in your family garden that you mentioned. I'll sidestep that!!
Ik heb bij me thuis wel 2 moestuintjes, maar ik wil ook graag nog een 3de veel grotere moestuin maken op een ander stuk grond, en dankzij deze video weet ik hoe ik eraan moet beginne, dankt!
short concise and very well done! I'm a seasoned market garden farmer. This video is a great info for anyone who wants to start a market garden. I agree with all the points and tool suggestions. Jang seeder is probably the best all around. 6 point seeder from Johnny's is good but requires very clean seed bed. I would recommend Jang over Johnny's because you can handle different sizes with optional plates. Highly recommend!! Best 18 minutes for those wanting to start.
Thank you for the kind words! I agree with the seeder suggestion. The Jang is really versatile and not much experience needed to use. The 6-row definitely takes a bit of practice and good bed preparation!
Terrifically informative video! Thanks for taking the time and making the huge effort to bring this bounty of relevant information to us. Ideal starting point for those seeking to make a living from living. :)
Hello Moreno, very informative. I’m a dutch too and have an allotment. No comparison, lol 😀 However I learned a lot, watching your video. I’m hooked. Keep up the good work. Take care Joyce 💚👩🏻🌾🍀
Wonderful videos! I'm happy to have found you on You Tube and will surely continue following you. I recently decided to start my own farm after years of employee life. I find your videos highly helpful in that process!
Thanks for sharing! Its always nice to watch people working close to nature. I am also planning farming in Pakistani during next 3-6 months and surely will benefit from friends. Blessings
Probably not gonna use any of it any time soon, but wow this is really some quality material. No bullshitting, just information in a really nice speed. It's even entertaining whilst not using it haha!
Great review of basic tools. I have most of these but will be adding to them. I am looking at the wheel hoe since it can be expanded with add on tools. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Bruce. Yes the wheel hoe seems to be a pretty good tool. We don't have it though. Pathways are mulched and in between the crops I just use the precision weeders I mentioned. 👍
I like the wheel hoe because you can add the seeder attachment and the finger seeders for doing rows. Those I need to research more. The versatility is what has me interested. Will let you know what I find out.
Well they do have the seeder attachment. They don’t have finger tine weepers but you can get a spreader bar and attach the mini cultivator arms to. They can be set to cultivate in between the rows you have set. Got to do some more research but looks like a time saver for direct seed beds like carrots
