As I just mentioned in another comment, I am assuming he wrote this song about Tarja. After the firing Tarja's husband/ agent came out and did a big public q&a to try and kill any false rumours, and make point he made on this big public response is that Tuomas was infatuated with Tarja, and that even after they got engaged Tuomas continued trying to woo her which they claim made thinks l things a little uncomfortable between Tuomas, Tarja and her partner. Her husband even goes so far as saying that at one point he asked Thomas to meet him in person, 1 on 1, and that there was no physical altercation but he basically told Tuomas very firmly that Tarja was taken and had to let it go and stop trying to romance her. I'm not sure how much of this is true as I've only heard Tarja's husband's side of the story, but his responses were very detailed and don't sound like they were made up. Likewise I've never heard Tuomas deny the facts. If anybody has heard Tuomas deny his feelings for Tarja and that all this went on I would be curious to hear it.

_Century_ _Child_ is certainly my favourite Tarja-era album (followed by _Once)._ There's just something really cohesive about it that makes it better than the sum of its parts.

In the year 2000, the tour for Wishmaster was the first one that led them out of Europe, and they came to Latin America. Marcelo was one of the managers on that tour, but he had no contact with her whatsoever. Until the saddest thing happened. In Guadalajara (Mexico) a guy - I refuse to call him a fan - invaded the stage and knocked Tarja down to the ground. He pulled her hair, touched her body, and tried to take her clothes off. The band kept playing as if nothing was happening, they claim they didn't understand what was going on and thought it was just some crazy fan. Marcelo, however, was backstage and saw what was happening. He came running and kicked the man in the head. The man was arrested. Tarja went backstage with Marcelo and she was crying a lot and he was giving her company and emotional support. The band did not care a lot and urged her to come back to sing the rest of the set, which she did, while crying the whole time. She said she did not sleep that night. Spent the whole night lying on the floor and crying. The guy was freed the other day. Tarja says she forgave him there. But in the rest of the tour, she spent a lot of time with Marcelo and they got to know each other. She grew closer to him and further apart from the band. That is, in my opinion, as all problems within the band started.

@@mhtuaes I think so, too. Tarja married a savior. But if Tuomas had not left Tarja to her fate, but had come and saved her, I think things would have turned out differently for him. Of course Tarja is a girl with "balls", but she really needed a man to protect her in this situation.

@@mhtuaes yes, it's a shameful for NW guys, that they kept playing, but where does all these details come? I have never seen interview, where Tarja tells about this incident herself? There is only this horrible video footage, which you can't really see anything, especially what happened afterwards...and then we have what Marcelo have said. And that attack only lasted about 2 seconds from where you can see, that this guy was not just trying to party with the band, but really had bad intentions, so it is possible that guys didn't realize it before Marcelo was already there. I'm sure guys were shocked about that too, and if there wasn't someone for Tarja (and if she had asked), they would not have continued that gig. Maybe Tarja was in shock and started to cry after she had convinced guys that she is ok. This is just nonsense to speculate everything, because we don't really know anything about it.

@@NightwishArena everything I typed is what I remembered from what I read years ago. I went to look it up now that you asked for more information and some of what I said was not correct. Here's the passage from the Nightwish biography: "In Guadalajara, Mexico, the show surprisingly turned out more dramatic than anyone could have guessed. ‘Some idiot attacked Tarja in the middle of the gig,’ Ewo recalls. ‘The guy came from the side of the stage - there were probably about 15 security guards there, but they were all just watching the show and taking photos.’ Jukka remembers suddenly noticing a big Mexican guy holding Tarja. ‘I had no idea what he was doing there, Tarja was totally panicking, but no one moved a muscle. The moment seemed to last forever.’ Tarja says that the incident was all about sexual harassment. ‘He attacked me sexually. Marcelo was the one who managed to get up there - he kicked the guy in the head. I didn’t even realize what was going on because the whole thing happened so fast, but Marcelo knocked the guy flat before the security guards even got there. Thank God he happened to be there.’ As the local security was too busy taking pictures, Marcelo became the hero of the day. ‘I remember the whole thing was so ridiculous; our security guards were just gaping at me there in front of the stage, drooling and taking pictures,’ Tarja continues. ‘Some crazy guy had the time to get in from the back of the stage and do a lot of bad things in those twenty seconds he was up there. The security didn’t even notice the whole thing. I mean, it was really horrible - the guy got beaten up and thrown in jail. The organizers were so ashamed that they were just crying all over the place. I cried, they cried, we all cried. My shirt was all torn and my hair extension was lying on the stage. I felt so ashamed! I felt so awful that I just went backstage. I was just shaking. The boys were all shocked speechless as well.’ Tarja did not want to give up, however, and the show was finished as planned. ‘I went back on stage - there was something like three more songs to do - and I sang and cried, cried and sang. I couldn’t look anyone in the eye. After the gig I went straight to my hotel room, and Marcelo left me there. I couldn’t even take a shower, I just cried on the floor. How could something like this happen to me? Only after that incident did the people around me - the band, Ewo, and everyone else - start thinking that hey, we actually have a woman on board. After that they’ve kept their eyes open.’”

Tarja called herself a marionette in Shadow Play.
