These two know each other very well..like very real brothers in every sense of the word. Mark knows of Taeyong's recent loss so I'm feeling his comforting touches to let Taeyong know I'm here for you bro. That's the message I get from watching this.

Yeah, I was hoping someone would collect these moments and zoom in on them. It always makes me think how TY has been a big bro/mum figure for Mark since he was 13 or 14 years old. They do so much work together and they do it so well. I love their dynamic. And my son doesn't let me snuggle him as much anymore so I understand Tyong's pain :) And the brush drawing the shirts were made from was absolutely stunning. Since they were rookies Mark & Taeyong have been NCT's closest most influential members. As accomplished rap partners co composers & choreographers they are TRUE equals in status & talent. I also recall, in the beginning Mark was SO taken with Taeyong that he studied his every move & trait like...how he breathes...or doesn't...when he is concentrating. In turn Taeyong, who adores his sister but has no brother, has a sibling affection for Mark and takes a particular mentors pride in Mark's progress. Though Taeyong is older, the leader and in the power position, he learns a LOT from Mark, he relies on Mark & looks to Mark for comfort & support. But I think as Mark matures and new things come...between them...though Mark would not HARM Taeyong, who is family, in his expanding world view full of fascinating people he admires...like Kai...even though he still sees taeyong daily, Mark may not realize...he's drifted. Like an empty nester, taeyong won't cling or hold Mark back but l think has felt that widening distance so keenly. As for Taeyong...people don't realize that anyone as fortunate & DESIRED as Taeyong could ever be lonely or in need of love or with ALL those members...attention. But the truth is "Beautiful People" are often quite isolated and there are times when it seems to me that Taeyong is starved for affection. I think he has needed Mark and his losing Ruby has reminded & refocused Mark on the needs of his truest adoring friend. I think that is why Mark is lavishing Taeyong with love here, because I realized he hadn't been, And Taeyong is cherishing Mark's fond reassuring attention. They are...so...sweet with each other. And I love the connection...so much.
this comment is beautiful tbh and ia w/everything you said especially about the distance thing? mark depended on taeyong naturally so much but as he grew up and became self sufficient that need wasn't there but taeyong clearly remembers seeing mark grow up before his eyes he must miss that codependency but he is not the type to address it
I've been feeling this in a while now.. I think Taeyong has that very difficult position in SuperM. Sometimes I feel he doesn't know how to act or react during their interactions like he's in the middle of being a Hyung and of course the leader still of NCT's Mark, Ten and Lucas. But at the same time, he's also now with his Hyungs that he respects.
These two are a fav pair of mine so I always enjoy seeing their interactions. And your thoughts were so touching. :) I do think it is difficult for fans/observers to truly understand the friend/family/teammate dynamics of being part of a kpop group (not to mention the cultural differences and different norms depending on where we all come from). How many of us have lived and worked together with the same group of people (not blood related but family all the same) over so many years (7 or 8 years for those who were SM Rookies together, even longer for EXO and Shinee), enduring the kind of pressure and huge ups and downs that idols face everyday? I don't think I can truly understand it. However, I do know that my closest relationships have changed and evolved over the years: My parents are now grandparents and we speak as adults but they are still my parents, my kid is less and less dependent on me as he grows older, my closest friends have moved cities, changed jobs, started their own families, just for a few examples. Life is change. I love to see these two perform together and I think they are an amazing partnership (and they have some tracks that I can't wait for them to release on an album). They will also have many other opportunities to collaborate and work with many others as the years go by. And I hope they take those opportunities and grow as artists for a long time. I believe they will be part of one another's lives through all those changes and I know their members are precious to them. The freedom to grow and support to be ourselves is one of the greatest gifts our loved ones can give us. In the words of one of my fav EXO(CBX) songs: "Even when we are apart... you are not alone" And I do wonder how careful idols have to be about who they express affection to and how, at least in front of the cameras... They must feel how their relationships, of all kinds, are being scrutinised by so many people around the world. Oof, that feels like such a heavy burden. I enjoy seeing them take care of one another in all the ways that they do. I am sure we only see the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their real lives (and, really, that is how it should be I feel) Sorry for the super long note, it's been a tough week and I started watching some fav vids to take my mind off it :D
@@dangerousmistress yes. So true! Clearly Taeyong LOVES being IN SuperM! But I'm not sure some fans (who see his ASSIGNED ROLE to be 'cute' as merely taking a vacation from his leadership duties in NCT) truly realize that Taeyong's official position AS Middle Line in SuperM is tricky for him to navigate. Most groups don't have or need one, but in THIS blended unit, Taeyong is not only the exact middle in age, he is also the liaison between his bright young NCT members & senior established stars of EXO & SHINee. In his other relations with seniors, I've noticed that, (as is often true with high rising young stars) taeyong is quite comfy with exalted elders like BoA who enjoy his rising stardom without being threatened by or envious of or feeling a need to compete with him (clearly SOME of his NCT peers do!) In SuperM, Taemin Kai & Baekhyun befriend Taeyong as their young equal to mentor. But it has been hard for the seniors to get close to Taeyong when his own starstruck NCT members vie for their attention. Eager to make their own names, at times they have treated their NCT Leader more like a rival than...a friend. And there isn't much Taeyong can do about it. (I've only SEEN him pull rank on the NCT Kids once and for good reason!) For Taeyong is also in the delicate position of being a more experienced LEADER than Baekhyun (who took on the role by default when Taemin declined it). Being SO familiar with his peers, Baekhyun has added a fun loving dimension to SuperM. And, as Middle Line, Taeyog is there to assist & advise Baekhyun IF he asks for it. Baehyun is doing a great job leading SuperM. But he does tend to indulge the NCT Kids who fan their elders & run a bit wild at times. That may not sit well with Taeyong who runs a VERY tight ship at NCT. And for SUCH a hands on leader as Taeyong is, it must be hard at times for him to...sit on them.

And I agree that we can't even imagine the life these kids lead although I was assured by Heechul's description of SMs training to preper them & the emotional & therapeutic support SM does have in place to help their idols cope. Truly Kpop.Royalty, they have been raised in the spotlight, lived this way for so long and from an early age , it is their normal and they might even feel lost without cameras on them 24/7.

Their friendship is just so special. Sometimes I see them as a super sweet hyung & dongsaeng pair, where TY babies Mark and Mark doesn’t refuse his touches. Sometimes they’re just like super chill pals (esp when they make music & perform together) who know what the other party is thinking just by glancing into each other’s eyes. I think the latter is also rare because TY doesn’t share that kind of chill friendship with many. Many of the members, though close to him, regard him as a leader and with respect, which gets in the way of a chill relationship forming.

Our lil mark is growing up in front us too...everything changed...thinks ty missed those earliest days with lil mark n this video shown how happy surprising ty was when mark shown his momson cute interaction as they used to back then but this video is a precious moment for them.
