Marlene Dietrich.

Everyone should listen to her recording of ‘Where Have All The Flowers Gone?’ Even if you don’t understand German, you will be moved by the emotion and the expressive way that only Marlene can interpret this beautiful song.

Marlene Dietrich despite being a strict Prussian mother and grandmother, was a highly educated, an anti-Nazi, pro Israel, charitable humanitarian. An iconic Diva, the likes of which we shall not see again in our lifetime. Marlene was sheer class. Madonna is sheer dross.

This is not her best look. It got better after this. The wig line is hard. Later she would do more of leave out at the front

She looks pretty amazing considering this was 1963. There weren't injectable fillers to plump up the lips and laugh lines, etc. The plastic surgeons of this period were fantastic because they were able to maintain the look of the woman after lifting their faces.

She is so false. You can see she is acting and badly too. Of course she has never sung ,let alone recorded, the song in japonaise, russe, Italian etc. But she was Marlene and we liked like that. :-) That wig is terrible by the way.
