My fucking guy. RCI HOUSING Unit 2 - C Tier. Solid ass man and sharp. Couldn’t even read when he went to prison but still found a way to patent tablets and flat screens etc. was in court for years fighting Sony, Samsung, Apple etc Extremely grateful for those years of conversation and mentorship.
@@herewegoagain4041 google Marlo Bates vs Samsung. The second link is a little more insightful than the first. I don’t know what plans Marlo has in regards to his story so I don’t want to say much more than that but what I’ve said is pretty much public records so I can say what I’ve already said. But I definitely witnessed these corporations do the craziest things to sabotage his case but that’s a story for him to tell. I will say that the couple years we were housed together he became a huge source of motivation to myself and others. At that time he’d been incarcerated longer than I was alive. Much respect to this man.
More than a few of the actors on The Wire came from the streets of Baltimore and some of them had done time for various offenses. The Deacon aka Melvin Williams (RIP) was a major drug trafficker in Baltimore in the 70s and 80s before going to prison in the mid 80s. IIRC, some of the actors on The Wire were arrested by or at least knew Ed Burns, one of the writers and co-creators of The Wire, who was a former Baltimore narcotics and homicide detective. Snoop aka Felicia Pearson is from Baltimore as well and was in the streets before landing acting roles.
Marlo didn’t do the security guard over lollipops. He didn’t like the security scoping him like he was a thief, so he took the lollipops just to show the security guard that even if he wanted to steal something ain’t nothing he could do about it. It was a good scene because a real Nicca would rather take from you than to steal from you.
Incorrect. Marlo was in his feelings about getting robbed by Omar and took it out on somebody that wasnt in the game. He was being a bully. He had the security guard killed because he dared to stand up to him. Nothing real about that.
Hearing Marlo Stanfield say that The Wire was about his life just adds another layer of authenticity to the series. The realism of the show makes more sense now.
Marlo Stanfield discovering The Wire was about his life must’ve been a crazy moment. It makes me wonder how many other characters were inspired by real people.
Wow, Marlo Stanfield speaking out about The Wire being based on his life is wild! No wonder his character felt so authentic-it was based on a real kingpin.
It blows me away that they actually used the real person's name in the show. That's wild. One of the things I loved about how the character was written and played was how smart and strategic he was-- which was true of many of the top characters anyway. Seems like they got that part right. Looking forward to the documentary.
"when we bounce from this sh*t here, y'all go down to them corners and them people know... word did not get back to me. Let them them know Marlo will step to any muthaf*cker, Omar, Barksdale, whoever. My name is my NAME!!!!"
The must have been OUT OF TOWNERS that READ WIKIPEDIA or YOUNG KIDS THAT DIDN'T GROW UP back in the 80s.If you're FROM BALTIMORE, and grew up in the 80s, and was getting money, EVERBODY KNOW MARLO & TIMMIRROR are BROTHERS.So is JAY JAY, TONY CAT EYES, AND RICKY. I GREW UP AROUND THE CORNER FROM THEM IN WILGREY COURT CHAMP. FACTS..I KNOW ALL OF HIS SISTERS TOO THAT ARE NO LONGER HERE. I GREW UP WITH HIS NEPHEWS. HIS BROTHER RICKY AND MY UNCLE BUNKY FOUGHT for OVER 2 HOURS OVER WESTPORT. before he became big time. THAT IS THE (REAL MARLO).
@@tami524 Thank you because I was a huge fan of the show but at one point it was hard to find concrete information on who those characters were based on. I'll definitely check out his book.
If I remember correctly, In the show Marlo didnt off the security guard over a lottipop! That was someone from his past! It definitely wasn’t over a sucker
Remember, Marlo told the security guard, "You think it's one way, and it's the other way." And, Cris tells Snoop that the security guard has to get got for "talking back."
Wow! I hope U have amended your ways. U did a lot of damage to a lot of people, if this is, indeed U. Don’t let people treat U like hero. Tell the truth, brother.💔
